Walking Down The Halbeath Road
raith1974 replied to Parscelona's topic in Scottish Championship General Chatter
Believe it or not I've a few friends that's are Pars fans. The season you were relegated they all believed you would be promoted. I've read on here recently how you are a bigger club than Ross County, Hamilton, ICT, St Johnstone etc and how you should be in the Premiership. I'm sure there are several other clubs that could say the same the difference with my attitude is first and foremost we don't get relegated after that anything is an achievement. I could go on about the players some of your fans belive you should sign. The difference between our boards are you have German investors that have no interest in the first team and are clearly wanting to set up an academy to profit out of any youth. Our board are about improving the team on the pitch, commercial and social media activity and links within the community with schools etc. -

But every club budgets for estimated away fans, so our average attendance is probably around 4k, our average home fans attendance is probably just short of 3k as ICT, Airdrie didn't bring a large away support. -

Because some of their fans think they are a Premiership side even though they are like the rest of us average Championship sides which will have some better seasons and some poorer seasons. -

You are so wrong with your statement. Our average attendance outwith the games against the Pars and Utd are 3k add in 12k for those two games then our average is considerably higher than 2500. Hospitality at those games is full, sponsorship at games and around the stadium is also up on previous seasons. Also remember that the floodlights at SP are on every night with the pitch being used. No expensive loan signings from down south that needs accomodation like previous years. And in terms of Hamilton he was on loan at Hartlepool he was a Livi player. -

Sorry extra players at Raith. You do understand any club needs a squad of players. It's just our starting 14-15 are streets ahead of your starting 14-15. I've read your fans saying you need to bring in 4 players in January where will money for those players come from. Increased attendances, cup runs or directors. -

Of course our owner is putting some money in to the club, but also out commercial activities have taken off this season under the new board so that also brings in additional revenue. Attendances are over a 1000 extra every home game not including the home games against you lot and Utd where we had over 12k fans combined at these games. -

But no right back and potentially no left back as we don't know what'd up with Dick. Back 3 again next week with Mureay in the middle, Brown right and O'Reilly who looks good and aggressive on the left. -

Are you being serious. We have a squad of 26, including 5 kids one we signed recently from Kirkcaldy and Dysart FC. 4 of them are out on loan plus Ethan Ross is on loan so running a squad of 21. Two of our summer signings were free agents that played with Celtic and Hearts B teams. Scott Brown and Dylan Easton were both signed from lower league clubs. Our keeper was 3rd choice at Hibs and is probably the best keeper in this league. Yes we signed Euan Murray, Kevin Watson and Jack Hamilton who maybe slightly higher earners. We are hardly spending huge amounts considering our board stated Ross went out on loan to balance the books. How much do you think Owen Moffat who is your only player with talent is costing you. How much did it cost to secure KRH from Rangers or that diddy striker you've signed from Dundee. And let's face it whatever your paying Wighton is a waste of a wage. He's never been good enough for Championship football. Do you think Mehmets 3 year deal hasn't got him on good money. Keep hoping that things will implode at Starks Park but the manager and board have all stated that they weren't looking for promotion in year 1 they are looking to build us up. -

Last season McPake could do no wrong, Mehmet was outstanding. Wighton is a striker. After tonight McPake must go, Mehmet is a disaster and we could have told Dunfermline fans that Wighton is useless. -

Bullshit, considering we have a fairly small squad. How much is Owen Moffat costing for his loan. -

Remember him and KRH are their saviours. I've since heard if we beat them once more we get to keep them. Not like there's much to keep. -

I'll keep it short Dunfermline are honking, even with virtually a full first team squad with KRH and Matty Todd you struggled to create any chances against a,brilliant makeshift defence. -

I think we will go with Corr and O'Reilly as the pairing. This allows Brown to return to his natural position as a straight replacement for Byrne. We need Hamilton up top supported by Vaughan, Stanton, Connolly and Smith or Gullan. -

It's not for a suspension apparently McPake was looking for Dundee to say no to us playing him in the Scottish Cup. -

Great night tonight at the Hall of Fame. As usual Bill Leckie was very good and brilliant to hear Paquito talking so well about his time at the club. Nice touch to induct him. Barnes spoke well but needed a bit more humour, but McAllister was really good, spoke very well and provided the type of stories you want to hear. Well done to all the organisers. -

No cause I would like to know roughly how many fans subscribe on a regular basis adding revenue. -

raith1974 replied to Hank Scorpio's topic in Scottish Championship General Chatter
No but surely selling to subscribers adds to the attendance to a certain extent with revenue going to the club. If they sell to 500 subscribers then what I'm getting at this adds another good revenue stream to the club. I certainly couldn't give a toss about pie sales, programme sales or any other sales. -

Can Raith TV perhaps inform us how many subscribers paid to watch the recent derby. I'm assuming that money goes into the club. -

The problem we have with resting the main squad is we are limited with numbers to bring in. Yes give Gullan, Easton and Hamilton a run, put Thomson in goals but it looks like Masson and McGill may have to start anyway as we have no cover in defence. I would love to see Corr, Matthews and Watson return but very unlikely all 3 will be anywhere near ready.
