McTominay is a midfield 3 with Bruno playing behind Rashford & Hojlund The Antony situation maybe providing an opportunity for the Sauce for a run of games?

Baccus on the bench after his international duties. Great that O’Hara can step in to replace him. Mandron back as well, superb! -

I remember your dad coming round and cleaning my arm with a nail brush after I’d fallen off my bike as a kid! I’ve still fit the scar on my arm! -

I remember going to Fir Park 30 odd years ago feeling quite confident at Motherwell had an injury crisis. The injury crisis was so bad they they had to throw in a 17 year old boy for his debut. I though, great, we should win this. The boy was Phil O’Donnell, Motherwell won and I’m pretty sure we ended up getting relegated. -

Scotland v England 150th year anniversary match
Captain_Sensible replied to Utdtillidie2's topic in Tartan Army Ramblings
Scotland fans should have kept kept quiet. I really don’t get all this sinking to other folk’s levels. Scotland fans shouldn’t have booed GSTK either nor the England fans singing GSTK and ‘Rule Britannia’ (which was written by a Scot) Putting aside all political talk, he’s Scotland’s king as well (and I’m not a royalist) and Scotland was very much part of the ‘rule Britannia’ empire. Not booing these songs would have made the English fans look very stupid for singing them IMO and would actually have wound them up. As it was, they were the ones winding up the Scots. -

The most noise, by far, during the minutes silence came from Scotland fans booing the booing England fans. Very stupid people -

we lost the 100th anniversary match 5-0 to England at Hampden in 1973 and then went on to qualify for the 1974 World Cup while England didn’t. -

Harvey Barnes and Ben Doak would have been good options from the bench tonight….. -
Haven’t really read up much on this case until now. No idea if she’s guilty or not but the evidence of her guilt looks very dodgy. I wouldn’t be surprise me if this case rears it head against in years to come….

I can’t see England calling up Anderson or Barnes anytime soon. Anderson needs to establish himself at club level first but he’s still young and could well still end up good enough for England. I can’t see Barnes getting a call up for England ever. He’ll be 26 soon and Raheem Sterling wasn’t even in the last squad. Sterling is only 3 years older then Barnes and has 82 caps. There are so many players ahead of Barnes in the queue down south and that’s before you get to their next generation There is no way Southgate is going to pick Barnes as he knows his opportunities will very limited.

To be fair though, Klose’s family were ethnic Germans. He was born in Silesia which was part of Germany until 1945 and his family were some of the few Germans who remained in Poland after WW2. He’s lived in Germany since the age of 8. Reading up on Posolski is interesting. “In late 2003, after several impressive performances in his first few Bundesliga games, Polish media suggested then-Poland national team coach Paweł Janas should check Podolski out, as he was still eligible to play for Poland. Janas ignored the request stating in one of the press interviews that "as for today we have much better strikers in Poland and I don't see a reason to call up a player just because he played one or two good matches in the Bundesliga. He's not even a regular starter at his club." Those comments are similar to what we see on this forum quite a lot….. ‘just cos he plays in EPL doesn’t mean he any good, he’s not even a regular, might upset Shankland, etc etc’

Personally, I’d prefer to go back to the days of a full domestic top flight card on the Saturday and play the internationals midweek. Indeed, I’d prefer all domestic games to be played on a Saturday with a 3pm kick off. Euro club competitions played Tues / Weds to avoid needing to switch games to the Sunday and just show whatever OF game they are showing live on TV at 3pm on a Saturday.

If this was a friendly against anyone other than England then I’d imagine Clarke might have made a few changes in the starting line up As it us, barring injuries, I reckon changes will be kept to a minimum I reckon Patterson may start instead of Hickey with Dykes in for Adams up front -
Maybe worth Robertson taking a tactical booking to ensure availability for Norway & Georgia fixtures…..

So far, Kane hasn’t helped any team he’s ever played for win any tournament! And Tottenham have had a decent start to the season without him - or even a replacement for him! -

I watch every game, club and country, expecting to lose. The fact that we’ve had such a good run of results makes this game even dodgier for me. I reckon we’ll lose all our remaining games.- 254 replies

I like your train of thought here -
With the rule change for switching nations, even if he had made his debut against Cyprus, he’d still have been able to switch back to England anyway if he wanted to

Bringing in lockdowns shows that the government can bring in draconian restrictions of civil liberties without any sort of evidence base to back it up.
