Always felt that St Mirren should have appointed Alex McDonald as manager instead of Davie Hay. Whereas Hay sent in a professional dossier when he applied, McDonald just sent a one liner saying he applied for the job. Hay then talked a good game in the interview and got the job. His appointment was a total disaster that took us years to recover from whereas McDonald went on to have a decent run of success at Airdrie.

On our last trip to Fir Park, a couple of Trevor Carson howlers cost us a defeat Fast forward to this season and some great goalkeeping from Zach Hemming helped to win all 3 points. There ain’t no way Carson would have made those saves that Hemming made, he’s too small for a start! I was probably in the minority but I never rated Carson, he was just average. When he left and Hemming arrived I was quietly confident this would be an upgrade. And so it’s proving. Hemming > Carson

Watching that 5-2 game again, there a couple of quite incredible misses from Brian Gallagher and Kenny McDowall before Henry Smith chucked it and Sandy Jardine went in goal

In my lifetime I’ve seen St Mirren win more major trophies than Motherwell. And that’s despite Motherwell’s financial doping, League reconstruction, stopping clubs being. promoted, not paying bills, screwing local businesses. I’ve had this “joke” about there being more St Mirren fans in Fir Park in 1977 than there have ever been Motherwell fans… but in reality, there were probably 50% + more St Mirrren fans in Fir Park that day than there have ever been Motherwell fans. You guys need to accept that the current situation is the way it should be

To be fair, the Motherwell fans are taking it quite well that St Mirren are the masters of the universe compared to the Dundee fand Its when the the Sevco fans start to realise that we’re the main challengers to Celtic that I’m looking forward to
