  1. Yes that's right. Geoff Brown is to Saints what Calum 'Calum' Melville is to Dundee. What a ridiculous post. As far as EdinburghLivi has stated it seems there is a concrete plan in place on the condition Massone sells his shares? Does this give the SFL more wiggle room to try and encourage Massone to go, if by doing so McGurther can guarantee the fulfillment of fixtures? Or was everybody working on the presumption that this was the case anyway, not just that the offer for Massone's shares was a way to move forward and encourage potential investors.
  2. Now, this may be completely wrong but... If Massone does sell his shares to The Interim Manager he will simply go on the list of creditors for this amount? McDougall doesn't make a deal (although it sounds like he already maybe has a gentlemans agreement which is why McGruther is making this move), club goes into liquidation, assets are stripped and Massone gets whatever pitiful amount in the pound is dished out to non-preferential creditors, thus tasting his own medicine of the situation he has helped create for all the other creditors?
  3. I am at a crossroads. I did the Isle of Skye half marathon 3 weeks ago and the MHFS 10k 2 weeks ago, with times of 1:39:45 & 42:33. Fairly happy with these as I'm only running once or twice a week between playing 5s and lifting weights (proper weights, squatting 3 times a week), and the half marathon in particular came far too early for me in terms of my training; I did it to join a mate who had entered. It was also pretty hilly and seasoned runners have told me I can take 4 or 5 minutes off my time for a true reflection of my half marathon capabilities. Thing is I have set 2009 targets for both lifting and running. I want to do a sub 40 10k & a sub 90 half marathon. I had planned to be aiming to break 90 mins at the Glasgow half marathon in September, and sub 40 10k at the end of August but I think I will need to drop the lifting completely between now and then to do it. That will mean though that it will be a huge setback to my lifting goals for the year, which I reckon I will meet if I keep it up. The risk is that by stopping lifting and sacrificing those goals to concentrate on running, I also fail to meet my running targets. Do the more experienced on this thread think it is possible to knock over 2.5 minutes off my 10k time and a whopping 10 minutes off my Half Marathon time in under 2 months?
  4. Yeah, I was sure it was no booze sales after 10pm in Scotland. The only time I've got after 10 is at Peckhams in the Merchant City, possibly because they have seats upstairs so its not technically an off license? Dunno if the one on Hyndland road does it as well. Some mates of mine have bought from 'dial a booze' before, apparently some wee chinese dude delivered them a crate out of the boot of his car at about 3 in the morning.
  5. Mixing shower gel and shampoo isn't quite as bad as the time I put toothpaste on my face instead of shaving gel or when I put hair gel on my toothbrush. Really not a morning person.
  6. The above run was actually 4.5 miles and I did it in 35 minutes, dunno where I got the above info from! Did it again this morning and knocked 2 minutes off my time and felt good, and thats despite having to wait about a minute to get across Maryhill road. I'm really enjoying running at the moment hopefully build it up to a decent distance at a good pace then decide if I'll enter some races. Good luck to everybody whose running tomorrow. And thanks Captain Sensible & Diamonds 2002 for the links.
  7. To measure your route use runningahead.com, its brilliant. You have to sign up but its free. You just plot your route out on a map or aerial photo and it gives you the distance. You can save your routes and record your times to monitor your progress, it will calculate your pace for you too.
  8. Good thread that I'd not looked at up until now! Have been concentrating on size and strength recently so not been running at all as all my goals have been in the weight room. Just started running again maybe 4 weeks ago and really enjoying it, but it's hard running in between days in the gym hitting heavy sets of squats and deadlifts. I'm going to carry on though as long as I'm enjoying it and have one eye on the Glasgow half in September. Last year I ran a half marathon in 1:32:24 so sub 1:30 is the obvious goal. Would like to take in a 10k or two as well before then, and as my personal best (I've only ever ran 3) is 42:42 I'd like to get sub 40. Does anybody know of any good websites that would list events? As for my standard at the moment I've just been building it up slowly, last run I did 4.8 miles in about 36 mins, but my quads and lower back were exhausted and I really felt like I was dragging myself round. Think I'll do that distance a few more times and try to get closer to 7 min mile pace then up the distance some more.
  9. Had to work with my ex tonight, for the first time in a few weeks. Was shite, has put me in a horrible mood. Also found out I have the pleasure of seeing her twice in the next four days. I don't want to be horrible to her, but I know if we're friendly it's just going to make me want her back and feel even shitter. Plus if we get talking talking I'll no doubt find out she's seeing somebody else or something that will make me feel even shitter.
  10. The cottage bar has some dodgy history does it not? Its not the one that was owned by Tam McGraw but it was prominent in the Arthur Thomson/Paul Ferris/McGraw feuds and I think some murders took place there. In fact was it not outside there the car with Bobby Glover and Joe Hanlon was found after they were killed in retaliation for Arthur Thomson Junior being shot?
  11. If your uvula is indeed your uvula, then whats your epiglottus? Is there even such a thing?

  13. Modest Mouse - Dashboard Just downloaded a pile of albums cos I haven't done it for ages - Modest Mouse, CSS, Maccabees, new Editors, The Cribs, Pigeon Detectives. Everything I've listened to so far is pretty decent!
  14. Drink some booze or smoke joint or something, that'll help you sleep.
  15. I lol'd! So I'm confused, rangersrus are you a male, female, transgender or hermaphrodite? And what happened to that bird in your avatar? She was hot in a filthy kind of way, the type you could shag everywhich way from Sunday then never talk to again. Was that Latino Lover's ex? Can we have her back please?
  16. Tell me about it, by October from my group of about 8 or 9 good friends one will have moved to Surrey, one to Fife, one to Aberdeen, two back to Ireland, one to Spain and one to Australia! Meanwhile looks like I will be staying put. Sucks big time!
  17. You've fucked her before? A friend, but the break into her room to watch her sleeping at night and sniff her underwear when shes not in type of friend?
  18. It's quite plain to see its got nothing to do with her feelings, he wants to pump her and is quite possibly secretly in love with her.
  19. Raith Rovers. six other results correct, so they cost me £139, Kircaldy b*****ds. Cue abuse from Monster.
  20. The Game by Neil Strauss. Unbelievable. The story of a writer who takes up an assignment to investige the world of pick up artists, and two years later finds himself immersed in this most amazing subculture in Hollywood. All those spam emails and pop ups about how people can can turn you from shy geek into getting any girl you want - the people behind those are the people in this book. Was recommended to me by a friend, was laughed off as nonsense by me as assumed it would be a self help book with stupid chat up lines etc 'guaranteed' to get you the any girl you want. If thats what you're looking for, don't read this book. It's an amazing story, a study of human nature and social interaction, which is so ridiculous in points I am unsure as to whether it is a true story (it is sold as one) or not. If it is or it isn't it's still a great read - after reading the first 100 pages or so yesterday afternoon I picked it up to read a little more when I went to bed. 494 pages later its 8.30 in the morning and I haven't been to sleep yet. I'm not even a particularly big reader, I've certainly never done that before with a book. 10/10. Has anybody else read it? No. 1 bestseller apparently.
  21. Source Tags & Codes is currently 98.4% downloaded. I'm moist with anticipation. I gather this is their best album, any other stand outs? Edit - Cannae spell
