  1. Must admit I've caught snippets of 'first major tournament win since 66' and 'will show English football's dominance hot on the heels of the two Euro Finals' but generally it seems to have been second fiddle to the women's world cup until the last couple of days.

I assume the only reason he’s there is that they are offering a wage at that level. Would I rather play in League 1 for someone like Doncaster or get paid more to play in League 2 for Salford? No brainer for me if that’s the scenario he was in.

Indeed but it was more a reflection on what Salford must be paying.

Tbf it’s hardly like he’s a PL superstar dropping miles down. He’s probably a League 1/bottom Championship standard player so not hugely shocking.

Agreed but he was with an EPL club and played regularly in the Championship last season so you'd think he'd be looking for a club of the standard you mention with a wage of that level's.  I'd have thought Salford would have been looking to poach from the top of League 2/bottom to maybe mid League 1 tops so they've gone higher than expected. Reminds me of Gretna signing SPL guys from a couple of divisions below, although not enough to make me want to vomit!

I’m looking to get back into the game and Scottish football is appealing for any manager.
Holloway also revealed he wanted to play for Scotland in his prime with QPR in the early 1990s.
He said: “Three of my grandparents are actually Scottish.
“But I’ve always loved Scottish football.
“I’ve worked with a lot of players from there and Charlie Adam at Blackpool was one of the best.”

...and I love Irn Bru...and I've eaten haggis...and I love a wee dram...and Donald Where's Your Troosers in on my ipod...

Oxford United launch the exact same shirt as half a dozen other clubs across Britain, but still expect fans to shell out 45 quid for it.

Of course they will as it'll be the only one with Oxford United branding on it therefore making it unique.

To be honest, I don't get all the flack that flies around for using template strips, especially if they're good. Does it really matter if someone else has a similar strip? We've had some right messes trying to produce a bespoke top. A Saints fan isn't not going to buy a blue strip because Everton or Montrose have the same one. If your clubs badge is on it then surely that's what matters.
