Apparently the Bury owner didn't realise exactly how badly in debt they were. That says it all. Taken over by a guy that can't even do his due diligence into a known basket case club properly. He was a fit and proper person to buy it though.

Apparently Arsenal have made an approach for Coutinho on loan, with an option to buy. Is it possible for a club just to field a full team of attacking options, as they seem to be doing everything they can not to sign a centre half.
For some ridiculous reason they've been long time admirers of Chris Smalling who United now want shot of. Imagine the reaction if the centre back they finally bring in his him!

Notts County were on the brink of administration or liquidation over this summer if new owners weren't found. Don't know the latest, but possibly they just have to cut their wage bill, and letting players move on without having to settle with them might be all they are after.
They got taken over by a couple of Danish guys recently.

??? It was Lille who apparently sold Pepe to the agent at the 10% discount.
Kroenke would have negotiated with the seller - in this case the agent rather than the club.
I appreciate that but he wouldn't sanction a deal that meant dealing with a financially dodgy third party.

The barcode is on some of the album's images and it's made up of a couple of dates in 1983 that presumably mean something to Dons fans.

10% interest is quite high when base rates are below 1%.
Wouldn't it be cheaper to borrow against future television income? That's probably more secure than a possible transfer fee.
On the other hand, Pepe was worth more. However, I wouldn't want my club doing such deals.
To be honest, I expect multi-billionaire Kroenke knows a thing or two about financial dealings.

Another cracking goal from McGinn this afternoon;
Amazing what you can do after brushing off a challenge when you have 'every right to go down'.

"It was a pretty young team we put out today, but again the team was geared up almost as another test to see if certain ones could do well and cope with it and it's evident that one or two probably aren't just ready yet to start regularly in the first team, particularly in the SPFL
Sounds like Tommy speak for 'Right Steve, I tried it your way and it's not going to work. Get the biscuit tin open.'

This is terrible. Over an hour since posting and not one reference to a bike. P&B isn't what it used to be.

The penalty shoot out featured during last nights half time analysis. The fuckers kept pronouncing your name wrong though.
Sounds like it was on BBC Scotland!

Luzern winning a game in Europe is a huge surprise. Their European escapades are the Swiss version of "Hibsing it". Should have hammered The Faroese last night, in fairness to them, but it really wouldn't be a surprise to anyone in Switzerland if they conspired to go out over there.
Absolute nonsense. Luzern are well known as a top notch European team and that it takes something very special to knock them out...

With Saints PR skills, any statement will likely be released at 17.00.

That's a photo of the South Stand area after the old stand had been demolished. The West Terracing is to the right.
The give away is that had it been the North Stand you would see the tenements on Somerville Drive and the streets rising up behind it towards Cathkin....not to mention the car park is there too.

No trialists allowed, sadly.
Surprised at that, especially given there seems to be a view the group games are partially pre season warm ups. Thought they'd be allowed more with the lower league sides in mind.

We could go full on diddy and start with a couple of trialists in an actual first team game.

No £60m + add ons agreement for Maguire and no flying in to Manchester for a medical this afternoon then. Echoes of £50m McGinn. I think any 'news' from there should carry a Sun warning.

£80m bid from Man Utd accepted for Harry Maguire.
If that's true, City now know what the price is so can step in to match it and Maguire can go to his preferred club.

Agreed. It's worrying. The back 5 is basically only one player different from last season too.
