  1. Decent the first tie is away. Was looking through all three groups in more detail today to see how well each side had faired in the regular season, given Parma will need to get past a few of them to get promoted. Lecce & Alessandria the ones to avoid for sure. Also noticed Parma have the second best away record out of all 60 teams, only Venezia picked up more points away from home. I knew it was good, but not that good.

Doubt Parma will make it up anyway, far too inconsistent & unpredictable to possibly string enough good results together to make it through that many games.

Lega Pro play-offs kicked off yesterday. Sambenedettese beat Gubbio 3-2 and Lucchese won 2-1 at Arezzo. A few games already finished today, but some still in progress and a bunch to come later on as well, so will post a full result list later on.

Final results of todays games, with the teams with the wee marker next to their name progressing along with the aforementioned Sambenedettese & Lucchese.

  3. Would love to see Crotone stay up, they've been terrific for a while now. Genoa would be a big loss to the league as the derby with Samp is easily one of the best in Italy, although them going down would probably be the most hilarious. Crotone have Juve & Lazio in their last two games, Empoli have Atalanta & Palermo, whilst Genoa have Torino & Roma. Crotone to go down and Genoa & Empoli to swap places IMO.

Bari lost at home to Ascoli in Serie B today, so they can't even make the play-offs now. 4 defeats and three draws in their last 7 games, scoring only one goal humped it for them. Ascoli now safe after the win, too. Hopefully results in the final weekend ensure we get some play-offs. The top three just going up would be a bit boring.

  4. Parma winning the derby with Reggiana 1-0. Still only a second place finish though.

Feel for Crotone a bit. They've been picking up good results for a few weeks now, yet Empoli seem to keep matching them. With their run in there's no chance they'll overturn the 4 point gap now.

Some result for Lazio again today. Horrible supporters, but they're a very good side.

SPAL currently drawing 0-0 at HT in the game in Serie B.

  5. Continuing the theme of the last couple of posts, a couple of promotions from Lega Pro already confirmed. Foggia won group C, whilst Venezia won group B. Alessandria and Cremonese are both tied at the top on the same number of points with just a game left in group A. Cremonese top on H2H and have the easier of the games on the final day so would imagine they'll be going up.

The majority of the Serie D groups have also had their champions decided. A few will go down to the last game.

In regards to the Serie B Play-offs, hopefully someone a bit different will come up. Pretty much any side in there just now other than Frosinone or Carpi would do. Bari & Salernitana not far outside the places just now would be decent as well.

39 goals across the 8 games, and 3 missed penalties in there too.

Juve winning 4-0 last night and Roma just beating Pescara 4-1 equals a record 48 goals in a single Serie A weekend.

Very close to hitting a ridiculous 50 goals. Roma alone could have scored about another 6 or 7 tonight.
