  1. I thought PJ Morrison was a total bombscare on Friday night. A one-off blip perhaps given you have him in your squad? Based on his performances against Queens I'd put Burrell straight into any starting eleven. He's torn our so-called defence a collective new one twice.
  2. Our defenders can't defend, our goalkeeper is a liability, we have around 6 players who look capable at this level and a host of charlatans. Our recently departed manager often behaved like a child in a man's body and was quick to blame the fans when things crashed and burned around him. A total binfire of a season. In school report card parlance: Grade E minus. Unless our next headmaster addresses our wayward behavior we deserve to be excluded or expelled.
  3. From how he described him I'm guessing it may be Danny Rogers.
  4. I thought you'd want us to hang around with you in this division next season as you'd be guaranteed 12 points.
  5. Ruth comes on and in goes another goal. FFS.
  6. I fee like a broken record but how many times have we conceded within a couple of minutes after making a substitution? And how many central defenders can we afford to sign in January considering how many we already have?
  7. First 15 we were as bad as ever. Couldn't get out of our on 18 yard box never mind half. Dave McKay steps in with one of his trademark f**k-ups to gift Alegria with a goal, then Paton dug us out of a hole with a lovely dinked FK. Wilson benefitted from a Bairns team too busy looking at each other but it would have been harsh on Falkirk if we'd gone in in front. Paton is far too isolated with only Todd making the occasional forward run to offer support. Thing is this Falkirk defence look like they have a fair few more unenforced errors in them if we actually tried pressing them. Instead we have 10 men behind the ball and Paton chasing lost causes. I'm assuming Murray's shirt blew onto the pitch before he had a chance to put it on because it's certainly empty. If I was a Falkirk fan I'd be raging at Kennedy. Every single time he's had the ball at his feet he's ventured forward no more than 10 yards before cutting inside into trouble and wasting a pass or giving the ball away. As a winger he should be running at McKenna and McKay, because their shiteness means he would get past them 9 times out of 10.
  8. Stunning goal from the only QOS player who's turned up so far
  9. Aye, unfortunately. Connelly injured in warm-up.
  10. Murray back in for Connelly. Well, it was a nice dream while it lasted.
  11. It's a bit of an urban myth that he was doing a sterling job as reserve manager. His record managing in the reserve league and cup was won 1 drawn 2 lost 8, including a five game run without scoring. Basically he was a slight improvement on Eddie Warwick, but that's not exactly a very high bar to meet.
  12. Probably popped into town on their way to Tesco to get Wullie's weekly shop for him. Don't forget that some well meaning loonies think Dumfries should have been granted city status
  13. I'm sure that Gibson would be the first to admit that results haven't met expectations or targets, but the board stuck by Allan Johnston for 2 and half seasons where we were second bottom and on a downward spiral at the time that the 2019/20 was prematurely terminated and only saved from relegation thanks to PPG, then 6th in 2020/21 thanks to a 9 game run inspired by Isaiah Jones arrival and an injury-forced change to playing Connor Shields as a CF instead of on the wing, and despite us being in the bottom two for the best part of four months last season (including the January window) it took until the end of February before he was sacked. Gibson was in the job for 9 months, so either the board have had a dramatic change of thinking in terms of setting a manager targets before punting them or something else was at play that they haven't directly mentioned in their statement... possibly as 19QOS19 to cover their backs legally.
  14. Hewitson's statement that the decision over the sacking is purely results based doesn't wash at all given that results over the second quarter were an improvement on the first. Had Wullie not been in court, his appearance being written about in the press and the fact it is going to trial I am 100% sure he would still be in the job tonight, especially given that he talked about having identified January signing targets in Saturday's post match interview which he would no doubt have discussed with the board. Let's not pretend that this isn't all about damage limitation and protecting the reputation of the club. If it was based on results and performance AJ would and should have been binned months before he got his jotters. The board just can't bring themselves to reveal their real reasoning when making an important announcement and always leave more questions being asked than answered, can they? Hope Murray isn't stinking the place out for too long. I certainly wouldn't want him making our January signings?
  15. From the OS in an October 2021 news item regarding the club's support for the Show Racism the Red Card campaign: "Queen of the South stands with everyone who has had to endure racial prejudice in all areas of their lives. We condemn all forms of racism and any racist behaviour will not be tolerated at our club. Club captain Wullie GIbson said, "There is no place for racism in today's modern society. As a multi-cultural club, we stand with everyone against racism and prejudice of any sort."" Clearly if found guilty there would be rightly be no option but to sack him.
  16. At the end of last season Gibson said we should judge him once he had assembled his own squad. We've now had half a season to assess his performance on that criteria, and now he has basically admitted that the squad isn't good enough. In that respect it must either be his eye for a player or managerial skills at this level that must be the reason we are not in the position either we or he expected to be in. One way or another he's revealed that he has failed in one of his job requirements. It's a sad indictment of his recruitment that for me our best players are Wilson, Connelly, East, Paton, Todd, Cochrane and both Gibsons. If we exclude Lewis Gibson (youth product) and Wilson all of those players were brought in by AJ.
  17. Didn't bother going today, but I see we conceded again shortly after making substitutions. Becoming a bit of a habit, that.
  18. Four Alloa players faffing about to let Connelly stroll through and score... Queens defence: hold my beer... Five statues stand motionless and duly watch King get possession, shoot and score. We're getting into decent positions but have no-one capable of shooting it would appear. At the other end, the defence looks paper thin. Of the players who have come in tonight, Wullie has looked like he hasn't been away, Cochrane is trying hard but needs help and Irving, I'm sorry to say, looks a wee bit out of his depth.
  19. Personally I doubt it, although we did try it a handful of times earlier in the season. If it were to happen it's unlikely Wullie is going to pick himself even though he's probably still our best right back option. Playing McKenna at right back would give me the fear.
  20. To give us the option of changing to a back 4 if the 3-5-2 isn't working.
  21. SD may be the man with connections to the club and the relevant accountancy background, but surely Greenacres is our resident Martin Lewis and it is he who we rely on for trusted info about the budget of not only Queens, but every other club in the country?
