Just finished rewatching the first series as at first watch I didn't really get the hype , but , sat and worked my way through it and I've come to the conclusion that it really is a great show. Noticed a lot more going on this time and upgrade it to almost sopranos. I also reread the book Homicide : A Year On The Killing Streets by David Simon. Some of the stories and characters from the book make it into The Wire and some of the Detectives from the book play parts in The Wire , definitely worth a read.

Maybe it's just me , but , the chimp and the drill.....I laughed at that bit like I haven't laughed in a few months.

Rescue and Restore is amazing , watching the guy sandblasting old rusty toys is very soothing for some reason. Just One More Watch - Scottish guy in Australia who focuses mainly on affordable watches and some high specced Chinese bargains. Also recently been watching some Bill Hader era Saturday Night Live Vinny Vedecci , Steffon and as Lindsay Buckingham in the What Up With That sketches are all worth a look.

Haven't seen a thread for this ? Season two now started and season one on iPlayer. I'm a fan of the film and was unsure if it would be worth a watch , but , the new cast are very good.

The series seems to have irked some 'Muricans going by the IMDb scores. They don't seem to like the fact that some white Americans are being portrayed as bad Nazis . The favourite seems to be WOKEMEN. I'm going to have to rewatch the first episode as acc to IMDbrief there are quite a few Easter eggs I missed. Quite enjoyed it though.

The Looming Tower : Al Qaeda's Road To 9/11 by Lawrence Wright Really interesting book about the rise of radical islamic terrorism and the philosophy behind it which tracks the birth of Al Qaeda from an idea to a well financed and trained outfit. Also tracks the path of the people charged with stopping them , mainly the CIA and the FBI and the rivalry that stopped them sharing information which could have helped them avoid 9/11 . If anyone has seen the TV series of the same name , this is worth a look.

Got this Kickstarter watch from Amazon warehouse deals for £25 cos the packaging was damages although it arrived complete and new with tags not a new Kickstarter but looks like remaining stock? On their website the watch looks really good on a leather strap.
