I thought Tait was going to stroll the POTY awards at the start of the season, but gradually Marcus Fraser has improved week by week and now he is a standout, he's my player of the year at the moment. It’s funny reading this and a few other posts as I just don’t see it with Fraser. Really just shows how we all see things differently. Id be interested to know (do we have a Random Guy version?) how many goals come from our right back area. I also feel his distribution is weak, especially for the positions he finds himself in. Pre the semi final, I was keen on seeing Tait on the right and Mason on the left. It’s a funny ol’ game.

Be interesting to see if both Lampard and Gerrard can be shoehorned into the same goldfish bowl, considering many managers failed to get the shoehorned into a midfield two.

The only thing worse than the game was Motherwell’s corner kick routine. That short corner, switching from inswinger to outswinger was just shite.

I’d like to see a standing area as it would undoubtedly improve atmosphere at games. However, not entirely sure it would work in our place. For example, if you took all seats out of W7 and made that standing, what sort of gap would you need between the standing and seating area so that the people sat on their arses can still see? I’m overthinking this...

Disagree. We’ve more striking options this season, but Obika wasn’t far off a goal every two games last season and scored important ones.

I doubt teams are adjusting their formation for Connolly, I’m more thinking we take so long to move the ball that we can never get him isolated with the fullback.

Connolly has the unpredictability, plus pace that most defenders in Scotland don’t have. We just don’t try to utilise it in any real way.

Every saints fan said start Connolly and Durmus. Nope, Mason starts. Everyone saying Mason should come off with Durmus coming on. Nope, Connolly off and Kyle on. Goodwin needs to stop being such a shitebag and going negative first.

Dargo made Dorman the player he was with us as his runs made space for Dorman. He was noticeably poorer when Dargo didn’t play - Rangers SF a prime example when he was being talked up as a £1m player.

Think he plays the holding role well, but not in the traditional sense I guess. More moving the ball quicker, etc. After all the stomping around with Magennis being sold, are we a better team for it by “replacing” him with JDH?

I don’t think there are lots of shouts about him to go, but a lot starting to get a bit fed up and question tactics, justifiably so. Thinking back, we started the season reasonably well and with a back 4. First time we went to a 3 was in Perth and it wasn’t pretty, went between the two and seem to have settled on a 3. He just can’t seem to get the balance right, and perhaps that’s the concerning bit.

Can’t believe Goodwin’s interview. How can you put the second half down to fatigue with the number of changes made?

Poor second half and it’s the same problem again. Really concerned that Goody isn’t a manager that can ever play on the front foot. Will do ok at the likes of Alloa, just just need progressive enough up the levels. In the main, I think we’ve got a decent enough squad. We just create f**k all and lack any sort of movement.

Hoping to bribe the panel with some copies of his autobiography?

If Goodwin is determined to play the 3/5 at the back, the width is going to be provided by the wing backs so unless Connolly has the defensive capabilities to play that role I'm not seeing where he fits into that formation. It seems odd bringing him in if JG always had the wing back plan at the back of his mind unless he thought he could do that role but training has shown otherwise. Alternatively JG might see him as something other than a wide player in which case he can't be showing much if the likes of Cammy are getting the attacking support slot ahead of him. Maybe not starting, but as our structure changed in the game I think he’d have been a decent option. If 3-5-2 is his chosen formation, then why did he make such a big deal about going after a winger with pace? Or have we just fallen into that formation recently? Anyway, hope every player in the first team squad gets at least 90 mins over the next two games. Chance for the likes of Kyle and Connolly to change some opinions.
