I hope we can get the whole away support getting involved in some songs - make sure we are heard over the orcs

More chance of us winning. Bar the young team and a few others, Somerset Road end is usually dead. Folk go on about Somerset being knowing for a great atmosphere etc, but after an initial Ayr Ayr Super Ayr, it’s hands in pockets or head in phone when you look about, unfortunately today will be no different.

The The Caley gig is a far more attractive proposition than the Ross County gig, so you have nothing to worry about. However, with Douglas's CV improving, I look forward to seeing if he can make it past the second interview stage with The Caley in the future.

Is it really?  Imrie could easily go in and turn that Ross County team around, it's not a terrible team and not far off St Johnstone.

It’s credit to Imrie that you think that… our squad is better than theirs, but (I think) on much less money.

McGeady and Murphy will be on way more than Power; and, as you say, the loan cost of Chalmers and possibly also Dowds will be more than we pay any player.

Even McGinty went there for more than Morton offered (which is good obvs) and Musonda would be on the limit of what we can afford.

They’ve spunked a fair bit of money on a squad that isn’t very good… and still had enough to bring in Brown and Whittaker.

    Good news all round.

McGeady is not on that much as far as I am aware (thankfully).  The guy has a property portfolio of 20 plus and arrives in a Bentley 1 day, then an Aston Martin the next.  His main role is shadowing Mathie as McGeady is doing a sports management role at University to become a Managing Director somewhere, his wages aren't what people think it will be.  Our top earners will obviously be the likes of Murphy, Chalmers (depending on how much of his wages we are paying) then the likes of Murdoch/Dempsey/Musonda.  What our problem has been is the misses from down south who we have to pay off.  Turnover in the last year of 2 million with a profit of £20,000, not taking into account the Dipo sale.  We were negative 1.4 million at the end of 2019, so has been some turnaround.  Do agree we have wasted a fair amount on dross.

IMO We should look to hold, and try and release Amartey from deep 4-1-4-1 / 4-5-1:  IE Maidstone at Portman Road.

    Dowds

    Amartey Dempsey Syla Chalmers

    Musonda

    Reading McGinty Stanger McAllister

    Albinson

No so much a fan of Musonda in midfield, seen him there once and don't think it went too well.  Like the idea of Amartey, however he's the only one really that hasn't played since Brown came in.  Brown talked about a clean slate for everyone, yet he's still not featured under Brown, or even in Whites match day squads.  Maybe he was injured and getting back up to speed, but that's not been communicated whatsoever so no idea.  Reckon he'll be gone come the end of the season.  Murphy also starts 100%.

  5. The concern is definitely in the wide areas, McAllister isn't the quickest at our level, so up against Matondo or the new guy will be a worry.  I think we will see a change in formation to 433 for this, with McHugh possibly coming in on the right side of the 3 in midfield to help McAllister, rather than solely relying on Chalmers to get back and Murphy supporting Reading, which seems to be working the last few games.  My prediction will be:

    Albinson

    McAllister  Stanger  McGinty  Reading

    McHugh  Syla  Dempsey

    Chalmers  Dowds  Murphy

Subs: Mutch, Musonda, Sanders, Smith, Tomlinson, Amartey McKenzie, Willoughby, Bryden

For the love of christ, just bin McGeady please.

Good read and very encouraging.  On the Hub since it was mentioned, Saturday was a shambles in terms of service (not the actual people serving who were under massive pressure).  Thankfully I was driving and not drinking, but it took my brother 25 minutes standing in the queue to get served.  Usually the outdoor bar is open to take the load off, but only 3 people working and usually one was out rushing trying to get glasses back.  One thing I do make sure to do when I am drinking there is to take pint glasses back up, must be a hassle for the staff.

Is the ayr United goalie a United fan 🤣🤣🤣

think he’s flogged a goal every gem we’ve played you lot.

Aye it’s been frustrating this year. Was probably best keeper in the league last year, but this year he’s seemed to nose dive. We’ve lost our goalie coach, but simple mistakes like that can’t be attributed to losing Timmins.

The thing that annoyed me most in the Inverness game was that Chalmers looked so easy to nullify. He never made any runs in behind and pretty much hugged the touchline whenever Ahui had the ball, taking himself out the game.

On Saturday though he varied his positioning a bit more and it showed in his performance, although it wasn’t anywhere near his best.

One thing that Bullen had us doing well last year when we had both was switching Mullin and Chalmers wings. They seemed to thrive on that and it threw the opposition. Only really Amartey could do that this year with him and he’s hardly kicked a ball. Murphy just isn’t that type of player.
