I was talking about the rest of the post. I think most of your own fans are conceding that we dominated the game yesterday so nothing wrong with that McGlynn said on yesterday’s game specifically. Who has branded you knuckle draggers and suggested you’re “shitfesting” your way to the title?

I get that to an extent but regardless of our FT/PT status, that pitch needs replaced and if the opportunity for financial support to deliver that is there it’s a no brainer for the club to go for it now. I don’t think we’ll go PT next season either but don’t necessarily think the pitch being replaced proves that or otherwise.

Who’s actually saying the above though? No sensible Falkirk supporter or anyone else who’s watched a lot of L1 this season would think it say that. Dunfermline are a good team. Capable of playing at times and grinding out wins when required. In other words, a title winning team.

That’s closer to the level of performance we’ll need if we have a chance in the play-offs. The collapse at the end of the first half cost us and was just really shabby all round from our point of view. Dominated the second half. We probably just didn’t get the breaks at the right times in the box but some poor finishing in there too. It stops the rot to an extent. Need to win on Tuesday then move on to the next one.

I’m going today but I don’t think there’s a circumstance where anyone who doesn’t go would regret it. Even if we win 6-0 we’re going to have a packed away end in title party mode giving it “f**k you Falkirk we’re gonnae win the league” for the full game. Actually, why am I going?

I think Saturday’s game is a massive tone setter for the rest of the season. If we lose to them again it’s nearly impossible to see how the players are going to lift themselves for the rest of the season, including the semi-final and hopeful playoffs. A win and decent performance would hopefully see us go through the gears again and would lift everyone. Really hard to overstate how important it is that we bounce back at the weekend.

Oddly enough, nowhere to be seen for the majority of the last three months.

I think it’s only a handful of daft tits on this website and Sammy the Tammy who still mention the fourth stand.

It also costs money that the clubs would rather have. The players would also prefer Hampden if you asked them, I’m sure of it. It’s moot anyway as we all know the game will be at Hampden like every Scottish Cup semi-final since, what, the 80s? (When Hampden hasn’t been available for any other reason).

I fail to see why taking money out the clubs’ pockets by playing it away from Hampden is a good thing.

I’ve watched Ayr a few times on TV this season and on their day, I don’t think we’ll be able to cope with them. We’ll need to be 100x better than last week and will need Ayr to be below their levels. It would be tremendous for the club if we can do it but I’m being realistic about it. I am stunned we’re the bookies favourites.

There hasn’t been a Rangers v Celtic Scottish Cup Final in 21 years and four out of the previous seven seasons have had Old Firm semi-finals at Hampden. Just to debunk that particular trope. In fact, there have only been four OF Scottish Cup Finals since 1980 so maybe they need to invest in better baw heaters.
