If you are ever up in Edinburgh make a point of visiting the Museum of Childhood on the Royal Mile, a very interesting place but made me feel bloody old when I saw the number of toys I used to have listed as Museum artefacts..

Surprised no one has mentioned model railways yet. I had a fantastic set up with 3 tracks so I could run 3 trains at once! Hours of fun! We also had Scalextric but I preferred the trains.
Meccano was another favourite of mine......wonder why my first degree was mechanical engineering??
Toy cars as well, spent many a pocket money on matchbox cars.
Airfix kits, made them by the dozens.
Also had Subbuteo and eventually something like 30 teams!
Too old to have been a real part of the electronic game age.Model railways - was, is and always will be my favourite!
Had loads of model cars as my Dad was car mad and tried to get me interested put never got into the Scalextric thing, liked Lego and other contruction kits

It doesn't look like they're meaningless. It's looking like the 12 points up for grabs against them will count to the final standings. Which means it has the potential to play a part in deciding the participant in the SPFL2 Play-off.
Not only could you have a paper champion finishing behind the OF Colts. They could only be there because of an extra point or better goal difference won against the OF Colts.
We are of course assuming that the Colt teams field a full strength team for each match. It is known that the OF like to have their youth teams take part in various glamorous overseas youth tournaments, if this happens during the main part of the season, do they forfeit the Lowland League match, play a second string youth team or what? If that could influence final league standings I would say that it is another unfair influence that their presence would have.

So where does big Ger Cafferty fit in with all this?

Totally agree, made that point already in this thread. Premier Reserve League is where these teams should be. I don't buy the idea that the young players would get more experience playing Dalbeattie Star or University of Stirling than playing Hibs Reserves or Aberdeen Reserves, yet places are there for them and the OF refuse to take that option up, why?Nobody would bother if these teams that want more than one side play each other in a reserve/2nd teamleague & not interfere with clubs going about their business4 -

They'll still be there when the Borders line is extended to Carlisle.
I was thinking more of "when HS2 reaches Thurso"

Does the Cockwomble even know there are more than two teams in Glasgow?

virginton, COME ON DOWN!22 points in 20 games Terrible wee shame then that the only 'achievement' in your shell club's history book is no longer relevant.

After what Juan Cayasso did in 990 I'm surprised any Scotsman worth their salt would want to visit Costa Rico

Don't think the wider world has been fully informed of the format for the rest of the season, Oddschecker still has East Fife as 20/1 to win the league this morning, think that might just be a wasted bet somehow.

Not sure that they would still be the case. An unexpected outcome of bringing new clubs into the league is that more teams that are historically been at Championship level are dropping to div 1 and finding it hard to get back out. With more ambitious clubs rising though the pyramid it will get even harder. I reckon there are 16 clubs that are Championship standard so increasing the size of the league totally makes sense to me
They won’t vote for any reconstruction that changes their share of the pot or reduces the number of games vs Rangers and Celtic. So the idea of 16-16 below the top tier won’t affect them at all. It’s the championship clubs that will be the stumbling block1 -
I feel that this is a must win match that will make or break the season. If we lose we will be 4 points off a playoff place even if Montrose fail to beat Cove, that will be a real handicap going into the post split as we will be playing teams that (Falkirk aside) we have not performed well against so it would be a struggle to get that playoff place.

The big plan to get us out of league 1 is that the leagues are going to be reconstructed next year with the Championship and League 1 combined as a 20 team league to be known as the "super seaside" league. League 2 and the 5 top teams from the highland league and lowland league will be combined as the "Super Diddy League"

Don't know what was more enjoyable, the win last night or the incredible seethe from Falkirk and Partick "supporters" post match and this morning, makes our criticism of Murray look like some friendly banter. Some of the comments on those other threads are jaw dropping - "Do a Clydebank" WTF?

Someone posted a few days ago that there were serious problems behind the scenes at the club. Last three results suggest that is true and now the teams performance us being badly affected. Time we knew what was going on.

The stadium debacle was just downright bad planning. The comparison is made with St Johnstone, who got it exactly right, new stadium was planned and built while the old one was still in use, they seamlessly flitted from one to the other in the close season. Airdrie on the other hand totally failed to ensure that planning permission was in place and the project was "shovel ready" before committing to move out of Broomfield hence the wilderness years at Broadwood.
Sometimes I wonder if the "old" Airdrie would be given the change of league structure and the emergence of Hamilton, Livingstone and the Highland Old Firm of Caley and Ross County. We usually sat somewhere between 4th and 10th in the old 14 team league, now given that those four clubs have established themselves in the Championship and Premier League that is four places that have knocked not just us down a peg or two, but have also resulted in the more regular Premier league dwellers down to the Championship, given that there are four places fewer in the Championship (OK two additional in the Premier) there is a much greater chance that we would have faced relegation
