When "diddy club" Airdrie played arguably a better Sparta team than now, they lost 3-1 on aggregate, seems very respectable given the 8 (eight)- 2 spanking the mighty Celtic have just received

Heart says a good Airdrie win and the great feeling of a Saturday evening seeing them top of the league, head says for that very reason they will get caught cold early on then spend the rest of the match besieging the Cove goal only to get suckered with a late breakaway goal.  Airdrie seem to do that to you as a fan, build you up then knock you down, (just like Scotland)

Airdrie supporters for years now have gotten by with the hope that things will improve. We still cling on with the slightest glimmer. What is so disapponting for me this season is  the disappointment of not signing a proven goalscorer and the situation where creative players are benched to make way for a defensive setup. I would still be disappointed if we were scraping draws and 1-0s against the bottom sides. Football is an entertainment business in case no-one noticed!

Amen to that, there is a danger here for many clubs that supporters will fall out of the habit of going to the grounds by the time eventually fans are allowed back in. If a team are thought of as not being entertaining this will not help, and crowds will be down, we cannot afford that

Thanks for the replies guys - agree it was the 1975 game, the day after my 18th Birthday, jeez that seems a long, long time ago now!

Anyone else remember a match played at Firhill in the 1980s, it would have been around this time of year and Airdrie won 1:0, not that many of us knew as the fog was really thick towards the end of the match and half the ground didn't see the goal, word filtered round to us that we had scored.
