  1. A really great performance, professional and ruthless! 4-0 and should have been more. The start was a bit slow, maybe a hangover from the weekend game and I thought maybe big Tam Lang looked a bit tired. Glad Morrison knocked in the first to set us on our way, and the confidence grew from there. 2nd half we were ruthless and wiped the floor with them. Pass marks for every player, and each one of them a threat to their opposition. Hendo pops up for a well deserved goal, Morrison lasers his 2nd from an angle and super sub Oliver drilled a beauty after an excellent reverse from Yeats. Hartley had that coming to him and long overdue. Really buzzing now and the league is surely ours to lose, 11 pts ahead of Accies. I can see some rotation for Edinburgh this weekend to keep things fresh. Happy 25th indeed!
  2. Which is more or less what Coll Donaldson said in his post match interview. Basically saying he’ll leave all the predictions and stats to the media and fans, but the team just focus on the next game in front of them and prepare the same.
  3. They’re both young keepers and both need experience and games to improve, and it seems both will get their experience with us and make their mistakes with us. Unless McGlynn brings in an experienced keeper for the run in, which is unlikely to happen, he’ll need to manage both players’ game time for sharpness and to get the best out of them.
  4. Just noticed QOS may not have touched the ball when we scored straight from the 2nd Half kick off. MacIver looked to flick the ball for the assist.
  5. “Dedications what you need, if you wanna be a Record Breaker.....”
  6. Not so sure McGlynn will do much to the squad except ‘maybe one in’ according to the FH. Also quoted as saying that NONE of the players have approached him about their lack of game time, so presume he was meaning the likes of Allan, Lawal, Mackie. Oliver also quoted as saying happy to play ‘super sub’ and every squad member has their part to play this season. It really does seem a settled squad and happy changing room. On the game, absolutely delighted at the win. QOS made it tough as expected but we had enough quality to win it. Nesbitt had his best game in a Falkirk shirt. Our depth shone through with the treble substitution, a front three for another front three, our attacking options are the strongest in the league by a mile. Proud to witness FFC history with 24 unbeaten and hope we can extend it for good while yet.
  7. Just before McGlynn arrived the garbage was on the pitch, so at least the football’s tidy now.
  8. Yes I think they clear, maybe even midway through the season which would be now(!). Where’s our resident QOS fan who knows all the rules. Edited to add: done some digging on this thread and found it ”Once you get past match 18 without getting 6 bookings, you need to get 12 for a suspension”
  9. 3 assists and 1 goal for Miller says it all today. Safe to say Miller has fully settled in to life at TFS Agree that oppositions can’t double up on Morrison if the other wing’s just as dangerous. That’s as easy a 5-0 win I’ve seen from us in a long long time. I’d have settled for more goals but understand McGlynn’s game management with the subs, keeping players fresh and injury free with the game well won. The whole team clicked and knew their jobs to a man. Another game down and we increase our goal difference vs Accies and Cove drop points. Barring a catastrophic loss in form, perhaps the league is ours to lose now. Too early! Hoping for a good January window and for McGlynn to work his magic.
  10. I can see both sides of the argument, where we get a wee refresh of the squad with the names mentioned. At the same time, I can also see McGlynn doing minimal and using what we have as cover for injuries and suspensions, barring maybe a loan or two in the door.
  11. You’d think Bonnyrigg would consider increasing our allocation(?). No updates on their website on how their own sales are going, and did someone mention their average gates were between 700-900?. With NDP capacity of circa 3000 it would make business sense (for both clubs) to give us a further allocation, taking the crowd to nearer capacity, and split the cash.
  12. FWIW, I think the club’s done an excellent job in improving fortunes dramatically in around 1.5 seasons as at today. Naturally, fans thoughts will turn to off-field issues with things going so well on the pitch. The board have made some appeals in the last few months to increase FSS subs through their newsletters, highlighting the funds will go to McGlynn’s budget. Since then we have extended Ethan Ross’s loan and signed Ryan Shanley, using that very cash, and which was acknowledged by the BODs and McGlynn himself. We’re running a very tight ship just now and the formula is working, and I for one don’t want to rock the boat, hoping we can get through January strengthened and not weakened squad-wise.. Should we be promoted the league prize money alone would go a long way to easing the burden of our annual running deficit, which Swinney often highlights (plug the gap!). If the gap was plugged with some league cash, then funds raised commercially or via FSS can be re-distributed elsewhere, eg for the Academy or infrastructure improvements or a bigger player budget. If we were to go up, I’d also like to think there are some sponsors and/or investors sitting on the fence with money to join in our success(?). A lot rides on us getting up and I don’t want to think about the outcome if we don’t.
  13. It’s paper tickets only to be collected at the club shop, AFAIK. I think the email received acts as your receipt with reference number, for when you pick it up at the shop.
  14. Yes there was a wee process to go through to link other ST’s to your online profile: ” On-line On-line sales will open at 9.30am on Thursday 28th December for supporters wishing to purchase ticket(s) on-line. You will need to have a login for our ticketing site. You can add friends and family members to your account, to allow you to buy tickets on their behalf, please contact Laura.craig@falkirkfc.co.uk if you wish to do this. Please note to purchase a ticket for this game all friends and family added to your account would also need to be a season ticket holder. There will be 300 tickets available to purchase on-line.”
  15. As long as he doesn’t ‘do a Gowzer’ after signing the PCA, we should be okay.
  16. Agreed. The squad harmony must be the best it’s been in years and we should do everything we can to keep it tight until the end of season. FWIW I’d be sad to lose Morrison and he’s been a great servant to the club and has popped up with more than his fair share of crucial goals, some spectacular strikes too. The fairytale ending would be if he signed a pre-contract with an English club, allowing him to play with us until we won the league, he gets his medal, we shake hands and wish him the best for the future. Everyone wins.
  17. Good highlights of Shanley. Looks a strong player, comfortable scoring left or right foot. Can score from range and tight angles and looks a direct runner and attack minded. That’ll do for me.
  18. You’d have to say only Nesbitt, Morrison, McCann, and McKay are non-McGlynn signings, with everyone else signed by him. Based on that his signings have indeed been on point, except for perhaps Matty Wright.
  19. I’d never considered the possibility of McGloves returning but the signing would not only settle the GK issue but his presence around the club would be a massive boost generally.
  20. Based on nothing but my own thoughts but I reckon McKay, Lawal, and Allan maybe candidates for the ‘out’ door come January. Edited to add: I note I’m not the only one with the same 3 names mentioned
  21. Love the auld manny behind him, sitting quietly with hands clasped, while you hear us belt out another song All that’s missing from this footage is the tumbleweed.
  22. Shakin Stevens too, “Merry Christmas, f*** the pars”
  23. I wonder if it’s possible the Club could provide the ‘training camera’ footage to show Miller’s goal in full and re-edit the highlights? Similar to the Cove highlights where we saw Allan’s late goal from a different angle, but at least we saw it. Unless we ask our best bud Hamilton for a copy of their highlights
  24. Speaking of songs, loved the ultras new Carpenters effort. Sitting nearby I think the lyrics went: ”We’re on top of the league, lookin down on the Accies, And the only explanation I can find, Is the form that you’ve found, ever since you’ve been around, Your loves put me at the top of the league”
