  1. As long as he doesn’t ‘do a Gowzer’ after signing the PCA, we should be okay.
  2. Agreed. The squad harmony must be the best it’s been in years and we should do everything we can to keep it tight until the end of season. FWIW I’d be sad to lose Morrison and he’s been a great servant to the club and has popped up with more than his fair share of crucial goals, some spectacular strikes too. The fairytale ending would be if he signed a pre-contract with an English club, allowing him to play with us until we won the league, he gets his medal, we shake hands and wish him the best for the future. Everyone wins.
  3. Good highlights of Shanley. Looks a strong player, comfortable scoring left or right foot. Can score from range and tight angles and looks a direct runner and attack minded. That’ll do for me.
  4. You’d have to say only Nesbitt, Morrison, McCann, and McKay are non-McGlynn signings, with everyone else signed by him. Based on that his signings have indeed been on point, except for perhaps Matty Wright.
  5. I’d never considered the possibility of McGloves returning but the signing would not only settle the GK issue but his presence around the club would be a massive boost generally.
  6. Based on nothing but my own thoughts but I reckon McKay, Lawal, and Allan maybe candidates for the ‘out’ door come January. Edited to add: I note I’m not the only one with the same 3 names mentioned
  7. Love the auld manny behind him, sitting quietly with hands clasped, while you hear us belt out another song All that’s missing from this footage is the tumbleweed.
  8. Shakin Stevens too, “Merry Christmas, f*** the pars”
  9. I wonder if it’s possible the Club could provide the ‘training camera’ footage to show Miller’s goal in full and re-edit the highlights? Similar to the Cove highlights where we saw Allan’s late goal from a different angle, but at least we saw it. Unless we ask our best bud Hamilton for a copy of their highlights
  10. Speaking of songs, loved the ultras new Carpenters effort. Sitting nearby I think the lyrics went: ”We’re on top of the league, lookin down on the Accies, And the only explanation I can find, Is the form that you’ve found, ever since you’ve been around, Your loves put me at the top of the league”
  11. A few contenders for POTY already and will be interesting to see everyone’s choices. For me Hendo’s a contender.
  12. For me, we Falkirk fans wanted that win today and made it happen. The atmosphere was incredible from warm up to full time. Full credit to the ultras for generating the noise and songs. No failures in the team today (would be nit picking about Hogarth but he redeemed with saves later on). Miller I thought was sharp early and looked hungry, screaming goal. Morrison took the pressure penalty perfectly after a lengthy wait from the ref. The 3rd killed Hamilton off, with Morrison doing well to shoot from distance under pressure. Lang and Donaldson colossals at the back, both full backs up for the fight, Spencer showing his class, Hendo (Pirlo) a powerhouse, Nesbitt forever busy, and MacIver doing all the dirty stuff up top. Without doubt the Bairns fans dragged the players towards the win today and they responded - we just wanted it more and made it happen. We’re looking good for the league with a game to spare. Merry fkn Christmas!️
  13. Just saying we managed to get e-tickets for access to your ground no bother last season and now we can’t mate
  14. Not so sure that’s an excuse. We managed to get e-tickets for access to your ground no bother when we played Clyde there last season?
  15. I asked this very question to the Club shop staff saying don’t Hamilton not normally offer e-tickets? And the expression was one of an eyeroll and wry smile! I think the club know Hamilton are being awkward. Regardless, we’ll still take a monster away support to this one
  16. Petty from Hamilton in the extreme. Which makes me think we should wave our paper tickets towards their BOD, as a wee ‘up yours’ , with every goal we score. Pleasing win today and back on course at the top of the league, with a game in hand. Winning at Hamilton gives us a real chance to open a lead at the top. Kelty were competitive and tough, aided in no small part by a dire referee. He must’ve had bets on how many yellows and fouls given against us. On MacIver’s yellow, why would he dive when it was easier to score and he was about to shoot?? Crazy decision. And I think Dross was wrong on calling Miller’s first half header offside too. Both our goals were worked beautifully, Yeats and Morrison doing great to keep the ball alive, with a great flick by MacIver to Nesbitt. 2nd goal perfectly weighted from Nesbitt to Yeats and MacIver done great to header top bin. Kelty were gutted at the end but we deserved to win against the odds, playing against ‘12 men’ always a hard task ref. Onwards to next week and the pressures on Hamilton. A draw wouldn’t be the end of the world for us but a win would put us in a strong position heading to January.
  17. Interesting story I heard about Sibbs, granted completely second or third hand knowledge of what may (or may not) be true. The story goes that Sibbs was on his summer holidays during the close season and had his mobile switched off throughout for some privacy. Little did he know that Hartley sent messages to all players (including those whose contracts had just ended) asking for an immediate ‘same day’ response ‘Yes or No’ if they wanted to be part of his plans at Falkirk. Sibbs got the message a couple of days later (way too late) when he switched his phone on, by which time Hartley had already told players to GTF and leave. Sibbs was gutted and seemingly would have responded ‘Yes’. Guess we’ll never know.
  18. McGlynn on FTV & Herald mentioned Oliver made one day of full training during last week and McGinn had started some non-contact training.
  19. Unbelievable amount of moaning about the cancellation. It’s a small blessing in that we’ve played a lot of football being involved in two cups and challenging for the league. Give players a wee break (in both senses). It gives the squad time to recover and likely we’ll be closer to full strength by next Saturday for Kelty, with Oliver and McGinn a little closer to fitness, an un-named player likely recovered from a bug who’d have missed the Cove game, and Hendo free from suspension. Not to mention Cove who’ve won their last 5/6 in a row. I’ll take the cancellation on this occasion thanks.
  20. Awful to watch and we were far from our best. Only positives are we remain unbeaten, took a point from a very tough ground, and still top by the skin of our teeth. Massive improvement required for Saturday please.
  21. Would need to agree with other comments it would need to be Mackie alongside Nesbitt if fitness doesn’t fall our way. We’d be balanced that he’s left sided, with Nesbitt to the right.
  22. It’s going back to start of the season. Miller did replace Oliver at HT against Peterhead in the League Cup, and we went on to take control of the game and win convincingly after a poor first half. I’m certain Miller was the straight swap to play in front of the defence that day. Maybe an option.
  23. The way we setup I think we have enough midfield cover. With Miller Ross Morrison in behind MacIver, Nesbitt would likely move back in front of the back four. The question is who plays alongside Nesbitt, Finn if fit, or Mackie who’s played there albeit to get his fitness back up. Lawal also could play there but the lad seems low on form just now. And this still leaves us with Alfie as an extra , but not sure if he’d be suited to playing in front of the defence.
  24. A tough game to watch and win in the end. Edinburgh raised their game and we‘re still playing well below our best. But we somehow still manage to find a way to win, which is the crucial thing. Scary moment from Hogarth and I can see Sam Long coming back in soon. Nesbitt got us out of jail with the equaliser and MacIver’s goal a worthy winner. Hoping our form turns around but winning is all important without it. Glad the linesman stuck to his guns as it would’ve been disaster if their 2nd was given. A rub of the green perhaps, I’ll take it. Lang and Miller stoodout for me and the two goal scorers done well with theirs.
