  1. So with League 1 & 2 clubs also plugging similar black holes which less than a third of the same handout, wages apart, where is the massive difference in expenditure?
  2. Every club was playing from October until January, not just the poor little championship teams. That is irrelevant. Your next point has literally been plucked out of thin air. I don't see where I mentioned any immediate sporting advantage in the play-offs if they happened. God only knows where that bribing comment came from.
  3. What they spend there money on isn't really something I can comment on however if they do not spend £350K on wages - the only thing League 1 and 2 clubs are saving on at the moment - then there is still a substantial amount of cash left over. It doesn't matter how that many it being spent. It is still some form of financial advantage.
  4. So you'd find it believable that a lower end Championship club has wage a wage bill totalling £350k from the start of January up until (as it stands) April? Pish. Wages are the only substantial expenditure that differs between clubs in the Championship and Leagues 1 & 2 as it stands.
  5. Likewise here although if there is a maximum of 10k allowed then it all depends on how tickets are allocated. I think it will be in their interest to get more into the game to have less about the city.
  6. Can see it being April at the earliest once the SG provide a more detailed info regarding easing restrictions.
  7. So when your club said prior to the season starting that it would be able to complete the season with the realisation that there may be no fans at all (as did every other SPFL club), that was a complete lie? Considering the 500k handout wasn't suggested at this point, your club surely must have had cash to see you through until at least may?
  8. Not wanting to go over old ground but the 500k covers financial security and then some when it's covering part time clubs and smaller full time clubs. Coupled with the income still coming in from match streaming, whilst teams at this level are left twiddling their thumbs, they are hardly potless at the moment. Still looking for the point where I mention "clubs should have all spent their government grant money on better players".
  9. The odds are massively tipped in their favour with an extra £350k to fritter away this year. They had players playing regularly all the way through so fitness will be no issue.
  10. The likes of Alloa/Arbroath/Morton will be scraping the barrel for any reason to void relegation. It's absolutely none of their business how many games are played in League 1. The bottom line is that an 18 game is the fairest way to go about it if the season is not void (no reason why it should be). There is no need for any split to take place.
  11. Are you just jumping in to slate every post that compares the SG and Westminster or actually do you intend to express your own opinion and contribute to the thread?
  12. The "seaside leagues" were already exempt when this lockdown began on Boxing day. The were only suspended as a result of the surge in cases within the 2 weeks that followed.
  13. I don't think so, if it wasn't for the cases jumping so high at new year then we may still have been playing. The leagues weren't suspended until the 11th I'm sure? The lockdown has been going since Boxing day and that was with the intention of football at our level and those below continuing. I think any decision on resumption is being made without much reference to todays announcement or the stages that are still to come.
  14. Pretty sure anything that involves booking a facility was considered organised. In the autumn we could organise a game of 7's at Ochilview but had to enter and leave through certain exits. "organsied sport" is a very vague categorisation.
  15. "f**k up" is much better though. Honestly don't see what else you were expecting, nothing was going to be lifted any earlier. You're stuck at home like everybody else. Try and do something productive with your time instead of crying on a football forum. You're clearly seeing red mist and struggling.
  16. Howcome? For highlighting your bubbling like a child because you have to stay at home a bit longer? Suck it up and stop playing the victim.
  17. Christ your dense. Until the start of April your life isn't changing drastically from what it is now. The stay at home message remains in Eglnad until 29th of March, a marginal difference. You've plenty freedom to go out and about in terms of exercise. Living in the borders, it's hardly a bad option.
  18. Get a grip. It's hardly Guantanamo. The message from Boris yesterday pretty much the same.
  19. But its a necessary cost - the club cannot just not pay for it. Suppose we should stop paying tax too and just fire that cash into the squad going by that logic?
  20. You do know we have required 3 stands on a very regular basis prior to being in league 1? The income generated by having a 3rd stand more than likely covers the cost of the south stand rent year on year. Its not as easy as just saying crowds are under a certain number = no need for 3rd stand.
  21. I'm sure it was to pay off the cost. Adamant I seen a date written down somewhere before. Possibly a previous seasons accounts.
  22. Pretty sure they are still allowing crowds at sports as well. Noticed there was about a thousand or so at Slavia vs Leicester on Thursday. Mental.
  23. Even with 2 managers and DOF. Our staff costs will be significantly less than at least the top championship teams. As said above, with no youth set up at the moment our staff is quite minimal.
