You probably could argue that to an extent tbf. Every signing for us is a gamble in some respects and with the names you've mentioned above (Efford apart who got injured with us) the club must see them as gambles worth taking. We took the gamble on Moult last season and, IMO, it didn't pay off. He was great for us and will go down as one of our best players in recent times but he's done now. No doubt Dundee United will throw a comparatively silly wage at him so fair play to him in that respect.

Because we signed him last season and he was clearly done? We're not a charity and when there's talk of limited budgets and having to get players out to get others in, signing a player that we know to be ravaged by injuries is a massive waste of money given where we're at.

I was hoping Dundee might have taken Maguire permanently given they know what he's about and he's somewhat experienced at this level. They must not know he's 2 footed.

I once saw a Hibs fan (not sure if it was on here or Twitter) describe how every goal Christian Doidge scores looks like an accident. He's one I would have been happy with a few years ago off the back of his record at Forest Green. He had a decent record in his first couple of seasons at Hibs also but, these days, it's a firm pass from me.

The chat about needing to move players out before we can bring any in is confusing me slightly. We offered deals to Goss, Casey, Johnston and Cornelius. Obviously none of them have signed but I assume our offers to them weren't based on others leaving so why are we now dependent on getting folk out the door before we can replace those who haven't signed new contracts?

I'm quite happy with our RB options as it stands. SOD operates and is far better suited to playing wing back in a 5 than whatever the f**k Alexander was asking him to do. What's Furlong's plans? At 21 he's in a similar position to many of our young players over the years in that he's unlikely to be near the 1st team of his parent club and maybe a drop down a level (i.e. - to us) would be the best move for him.
