  1. Third Saturday in a row I've returned a profit, although this week's and last week's would only buy me a good time in McDonald's. Profit of £13.29 today. Chesterfield proved a good bet even though I like Rochdale so mixed feelings -they'll never go up! Peter Leven's 89th minute winner brought up my double with Peterborough and had a single on Ayr. Bloody Gillingham denied me £160.
  2. With you mate, they did me out of £166. Or rather Chesterfield did me again. Staying down, you b*****ds!
  3. Four bets this weekend, all winners. Never happened before. Profit £139.71. Thanks to Stoke, Hereford(two singles) and Brentford, Lincoln, Hereford again, Peterborough and QOS. Four team acca also up - Celtic, Dundee, QOS and Ross County. Sweetens the pain of Perth today. If only West Brom had saved one of their goals for Sheff Utd I'd have had a great week.
  4. West Brom also, denied me £42, three others up. Top scorers my arse!
  5. Cheers Blue4578, I should have checked the date of your post, shouldn't I? Re Chesterfield, I was on them at 7/10 which I thought was quite generous for a team I judged to be near certs. They destroyed a very good Hereford and Chester have been shit lately. I suppose when you are as successful as you obviously are you get a nose for a shock or an end to a run, good or bad. I ain't there yet!
  6. So you managed to avoid betting Man Utd, Chelsea, Birmingham, West Ham, Palace, Charlton, Forest, Leeds, Chesterfield and Darlington while tipping Carlisle to end Walsall's 17 game unbeaten run, Ipswich winning away for the first time, Watford's first home win since October, Stirling at Clyde. People from the future shouldn't post on here. Seriously, how the heck did you manage that. I saw your posts in the University thread so I don't doubt you could provide proof but that baffles me, how anyone could make such a profit from those results yesterday. My main hope was Chesterfield, now that's rank bad luck.
  7. Chesterfield. In their last home game they thrashed Hereford, sitting second or third, 4-0 live on Sky. They are excellent at home. Chester hadn't won in eight, hadn't scored in four and had two players sent off in midweek and missing today. A replica of taking Rochdale at home to Lincoln a few weeks ago, 2-0 to Lincoln. Chester drawing beat a single and a treble, I should be £49 richer tonight.
  8. Brechin and Falkirk put down an 8 team £2 acca for £123 but I didn't expect anything so no big deal. If Newcastle had won I'd have recouped my losses, and yet again I take a game that's a late call off, this time Brentford at Accrington.
  9. So picking Leeds when they've been 100% and they put your sensible five team acca down isn't bad luck? When i backed Arsenal they'd beaten Liverpool 3-0 at the Emirates the previous week. Maybe probability comes into it, the likelihood that a good run has to end sometime like with Leeds. Maybe I should have seen that result coming, but come on, backing a quality team that blows most teams away and then lets you down is bloody rotten luck. What have you done wrong? You're aware of the form. I had a wee bit of luck yesterday with Carlisle coming back from 0-2 down, but then that was really Carlisle's quality showing, which is why I picked them in the first place. Someone, may be the russian, has had three big doubles come up in a row. Good luck to him. My last double included Ipswich at home, did my research- a quick glance at the league table did that- and they won. The other one was Forest at home to Northampton. Did my research, although Forest do seem to get the jitters at home, weight of expectation and all that, they still have a fine home record. I also noted that Northampton were poor away and were missing their top scorer Andy Kirk. Forest scraped a 2-2 draw. Again I made no obvious blunder, just rotten luck. I will insist on running over black cats. Shopping around for the best price- I do that too but it matters not a jot when they lose.
  10. Why do I keep coming back to one word - luck. Choosing a really good team that you trust? Tried that. So many examples. Arsenal drawing 1-1 at home to Newcastle last season, costing me over £200. Although they were poor last season they were still good at home. Liverpool at Reading recently. Leeds first dropped points, me again. Celtic 0 Dunfermline 1 a couple of seasons ago. Mates lost out on £98 each due to Liverpool drawing with Wigan in midweek. Teams on great runs all of a sudden have an off day when I pick them. Hence my big(for me) bet on Dundee to win the league. From the little I understand about betfair I think I should steer clear. Having to pay out on people's winning bets instead of the bookie? You need a big pot, which I don't have and you need a lot of luck, see above!
  11. I find it very difficult to get my head round the idea of someone being a professional gambler on mainly just football. Look at yesterday. Perhaps the pro gambler wouldn't touch FA Cup third round day but Haitch lost £100 and going by his system will take 2-3 weeks to make that back, and that's assuming he doesn't suffer another big loss. I had a small amount on Rochdale yesterday. They'd just stuck three past the tightest defence in England in midweek(Darlington) and were at home to woeful Lincoln, third bottom with only seven away points. They lost 2-0. How can you legislate for results like that? Or Berwick scoring two goals in the last five minutes to snatch a draw. Safest home on the entire coupon was surely Norwich.
  12. Brighton losing to the worst team in the land at home cost me £44.72(mid-table's line minus Accies). My top tip of Rochdale didn't pay off, how they can go from beating stingy Darlington 3-1 to losing to Lincoln I don't know. I'll forget about them now I think, not the first time they've cost me. Watch them romp to promotion! I would imagine Accies, Brechin and Spurs are not people's favourite's tonight. Accies were appalling today.
  13. What I don't quite get is what if Sunderland had won, (they missed a penalty at 0-0), that's £100 away. Do you up the ante for the next bet or keep your discipline? I'm not doubting Haitch when he says he's £500 up this season but he has had some losses. I would be interested to know if they were losses on this scale. I'm not in this league sadly, don't know if the old ticker could stand it tbh.... Like mid-table I keep a record of every bet. Bloody depressing reading atm. A few seasons ago I won £1099 on ante posts but I have suffered for that good fortune ever since.
  14. To give a more serious reply, and in light of Haitch's plans on saturday, I would advise checking on team news as near to kick off as possible especially for FA Cup matches now that many sides see the league as more important. Norwich should beat Bury, I don't see them leaving themselves open to an embarrassment by playing reserves, however Fulham have lost at home to lower division opposition twice recently. I think Leyton Orient gubbed them. I admire Haitch's discipline but if you lose a bet like that it's going to take a while, assuming you continue to follow the same system, to get that money back.
  15. Yes and yes, to my cost over past few weeks. Pals were denied £98 each thanks to Liverpool last night. I would also add never bet Stenhousemuir, it'll end in tears.
  16. Palace(four in row before today) and Stoke(minus Fuller which I didn't know) cost me on two lines. I would be willing to bet Leeds, Charlton and Hereford cost a few lines today. But I'd probably lose.
  17. I hope the folk who win money betting St Johnstone realise just how bloody spawny they are!!!
  18. matt pond PA's myspace site. Anyone else into this brilliant band?
  19. Matt Pond PA - So Much Trouble Top notch pop.
  20. Beirut - Elephant Gun Loving this band, how many ukelele-accordion-trumpet waltzes do you hear on the radio?
  21. Is this run of form normal for you? Very impressed. Think I'll just follow you from now on.
  22. He(Beirut) was also mentioned in Uncut's best of so decided to check him out on youtube, very impressed so far, very different. Some youngsters are so talented it's positively sickening.
  23. The tip on Stoke paid off, treble of them, Walsall and Rotherham with Alloa abandoned 2-1 up against ten men. £29 up on today with £2 on Dons tomorrow at 5/1.
