The problem with the size of the league is partly the potential for late finishes but for me it's more that by the time you get to May many teams have chucked it.

Every year May is double figures season.

I’m actually pretty impressed Broughty have managed to play 38 league games already as well as all the various cup competitions.

The Midlands League is surely the most uneven in the country. The top teams are probably EoS Premier standard, whilst the bottom are basically amateur level. A split to two divisions of 10 would make sense, hopefully attracting a few more teams to join so this can be expanded to two leagues of 12 in the coming years. Or combine with the North region, with the Perth teams moving to EoS. I just think there’s far too many games that are a foregone conclusion as it stands.

I pursuing increased GDP is always the best way to improve societal well-being. This seems a reasonable point considering things like India being 5th in the GDP list yet only 118th in the Human Development Index.

Generally the countries with the highest GDP per capita are also the highest in the HDI. India’s GDP per capita is very low so it’s not really a great example to use.

So you accept they used to be good and were horrendous this year?

    Weird white knight effort.

Their record of actually winning competitions has been dire this millennium, Spain are miles ahead. It's no surprise the best English sides imitate Spanish football in every way they can.

Correcting your terrible posts isn’t ’white knighting’. UEFA ranks the Barclays as the best league in Europe and that’s all there is to it. You can try and move the goalposts as much as you want, I’m not interested, neither is UEFA, and it’s our opinion that matters, not yours.

Are you going to answer re the numerous aliases?

The real farmers league having a total mare last night, and they are fair getting scudded in the Europa league too.

    A St. George's day* massacre.

Even better is the tear stained reaction from their fans online insisting that they really are the best, honest guv, this is all just a mistake. The articles about the inevitable all English semi final make for an especially good read.

Now 6 CL English winners since the start of the millennium, Spain has 6 in the last ten years alone (10 this millennium).

Even hiring Spanish coaches and signing Iberian players isn't closing the gap.

Aston Villa is their last realistic chance in Europes third tier comp, Unai Emery alone has won as many Europa League titles as English football as a whole has since 2002.

If you can't beat em hire em. And still lose.

*Well at least the months the same.

Or you could just look at UEFA’s coefficient rankings, which shows England miles out in front.

Why do you keep making new aliases btw? Are you being repeatedly banned for your terrible takes?

I saw at least three vendors but I doubt if they sold much.

The 'atmosphere' at women's internationals is never going to be comparable to the mens given the numbers of families, kids etc wherever you hold them (but there are also advantages that you have less chance of being seated next to some drunk bloke in a Glengarry who pees at his seat and then falls asleep for the rest of the match).

I think a temporary move to, say, St Mirren or Falkirk would be good, with a view to returning to Hampden when the crowds have built up. Some personal reflection within the Tartan Army might be warranted about why most never go near the women's team.

I don’t think the Tartan Army require any ‘personal reflection’ whatsoever. Supporters have absolutely no obligation to attend the matches of the women’s team. I want the Scotland women’s team to do well the same way I want the U21 or U19 teams to, but I have zero interest in actually going to any games.

The FA have a duty to fund and promote the sport for everyone and should be aiming to grow the game for both women and men. ‘Tartan Army’ members do not. They are already typically attending club team games on top of international matches so why anyone should feel the need for ‘personal reflection’ for not attending even more matches is beyond me. Maybe more women could actually buy tickets to watch other women play?

I forgot to mention this last week buy a guy I work with got a substantial tax rebate a month or so ago then last week got two letters saying he was due them money now, £500 more than the rebate.

He was on hold to HMRC most of Friday basically screaming g his N.I number at his phone getting the "sorry, I didn't quite catch that" back. He's from Cornwall, so it's not just Scottish boys they don't understand.

Dealing with HMRC is a complete nightmare even when you do get through. You spend an hour on hold then get put through to either a complete simpleton or someone who can barely speak English.

Ireland women beat us in the play-offs and went to the World Cup, and have then put together a winning Nations League campaign (albeit helped by being in a lower tier). That will have made a big difference.

If we hadn't bottled the last two qualifying campaigns I think our crowds would be massively higher.

3,000 for a qualifier with thousands of free tickets handed out is very worrying though. The trains before kick off were incredibly quiet and there weren’t even stalls up selling merchandise. Just zero interest. The women’s game is generally growing in most countries and we seem to be going backwards.

It's a bit like the men's team, if they can stop being rubbish the crowds will come along.

Scotland women are ranked above Ireland women. It’s not that simple. Something has gone badly wrong in the promotion of the women’s game in this country.

Honours won during the alcoholic, chain smoking plumber era

Dundee were the bigger club when they were playing with the ball below & they talked about ‘inside left’ & ‘left half’ as positions & played about 8 strikers. It’s basically a different sport. Haven’t won the big cup since 1900 odd either.

How old were you when Dundee last won something meaningful? How many trophies have Dundee Utd won in your lifetime since the last time you saw Dundee win a major trophy?

Not to mention the fact Dundee haven’t averaged over 7k fans since 00/01 (according to transfermarkt). United have done so in 17 seasons since then…

Dundee United have won far more honours recently and played in Europe more often (especially recently).

Dundee United’s turnover is £8m+. I couldn’t find a figure for Dundee FC. The reason for this is that they qualify as a ‘small company’, whereas United do not - this means that the disclosure requirements for their financial statements are less stringent. Says it all really.

I would be interested to know on which metrics Dundee are ‘bigger’.

Ah the Perth chat with time limits.

So it depends your age on how you determine how big a club are? Gotcha.

"They’ve spent most of the last two decades in the Championship/First Division"

I understand you want to have a pop with it being your big derby week, but stop telling lies min.

I’d say it probably plays a pretty important part in how you view a club, yes.

How is it a lie? How many seasons out of the last 20 have you spent in the second tier? I’ll wait.
