  1. The same board who said only quality over quantity- yet we signed a guy who seems a really sound guy, but stats wise has only played 30 games in 6 years and is not yet fit
  2. Maybe the club hoped there might be the selling of a few more season tickets on the back of the announcement of the signing, as it’s definitely what I would class as a marquee signing
  3. Passed Gordon in the stand he had a leg brace on hope it’s just a precaution and not too serious
  4. Was Houston really that bad a manager for you guys?
  5. Gregory Tade is being linked played with Raith and Clyde I can’t honestly remember if he played for Caley?
  6. I agree totally about Hopkin but sadly he probably as good as Dundee Uniteds if they want him our board will never sack Archie
  7. You obviously are more aware of what happened than me, couldn’t think of any other reason why we sold him given he had a couple of years left on his contract. however I dare say such clauses exist with some players at clubs though no idea if it’s the case with Ayr United
  8. The only likelihood he would be away would be if he has a certain bid fee in his contract. somethign along the lines of if a club is willing to pay £70,000 then he is free to talk to the club. It may be somethign his agent insited on when he signed a new deal with Ayr United - no idea whether he has or not. WIth Liam Lindsay for instance everyone at Firhill clearly wanted to keep him and he had 2 years on his deal, but I had heard there was a clause in his contract meaning that if a club came in for him with such and such an offer then he is free to talk to them. Might not be the case with Ayr United though
  9. I honestly don’t recall the Ayr United keeper having a save to make
  10. Getting the train through on Tuesday night for the game, previously went by car can any rovers fans please tell me what train station is nearest to the ground? Thanks
  11. Although played out of position last year he was still pretty awful so I’m not going as overboard as some on Facebook are about him staying on but he deserves respect for taking a pay cut. Still think we need another striker, dools is another year older (and a bit sluggish in the 2 cup games we have played before- albeit he’s usually a bit of a slow starter anyway), while I’m not convinced Archie won’t play Storey on the wing and even if he is played as an out and out striker while really fast with lots of energy we have still to see how successful a goalscorer he actually is (azeez had bags of energy and was fast but not a good goal scorer)
  12. Terrible news - a true Partick Thistle legend RIP Davie thoughts go this friends and family 2018 has not been a good year in terms of losing some truly great jags legends
  13. I Wonder how much the club will have had to have paid to move him on - though will no doubt be cheaper than if we had to continue paying him a full wage to be on the sidelines for this season
  14. According to Wikipedia (for what it’s worth)there were 2 Ross Stewart’s at St Mirren, even more bizarrely both also played for Albion Rovers and both are of a similar age - no idea if they were cousins or anything. hopefully we get the good one lol
  15. Yeah full name Mohammed Niang and very highly rated by a couple of the Lok supporters I’ve spoken too. its good to see us looking at the Juniors again since last time we did we unearthed gems like Doolan and Erskine. Niang is a young lad but seems to have real potential
  16. Well that’s your opinion only 8 out of the 21 were dross - we will have to disagree then
  17. If your talking about signings from English lower leagues then I would argue that he has not had an 80% success rate osman and Edwards yes buaben and Taylor were excellent (but you could argue they would have been well known for what he did at Scottish teams like Dundee United, Falkirk etc amoo was okay dumbaya and seaborne were perma crocks and cannot be said to be successes in my book in fact giving how much they actually played but I cannot agree that guys like Richards Everton, keown, mukendi, carroll, German, Cargil, turnbull, Banton, moncur, eccleston, pogba And azeez were in any way successful at all and possibly not very cheap either
  18. To be fair most of our signings from down south have been utter dross and to think we have spent more on them - in that sense not too concerning we are looking at players from Scottish leagues and if they are cheaper even better- though we have still signed McGinty from English lower leagues which kind of negates his claim that we can only sign guys from Scottish teams
  19. He always came across as a total gent in his interviews and clearly had a great passion for his beloved Morton RIP dougie - thoughts go to his friends and family at this sad time
  20. Although Cammy ballantyne is training with QOS I heard from one of his relatives that Morton are also interested
