Nobody said it should be accepted.
But that doesn’t justify the abuse that was hurled from some quarters.
There are some fucking morons about. You and I have seen some real shite down the years.

It will have all been said but fair fucks to St Mirren, blew us away from the first second. Great backing from your fans behind the goal too, created a great atmosphere. Loved the ‘we’re on our way’ stuff - I think Dundee fans can well appreciate how you must be feeling, fookin fantastic.
Safe journey back to Glasgow lads and lassies.9 -

Didn’t want to exclude the relegation fodder up the river but I take your point and humbly apologise.

I'm certainly not shitting it, that's not to say we're guaranteed to win but we have to be considered favourites here. I trust in the side, and I trust in Robinson, and we've had a good season.
The biggest fear I have is the referee making themselves the focus of the game rather than the football. If we come away with a loss but we've played well, you'll have no complaints from me.

No shiting it from me.
Confident in the team after their last two displays at Dens but happy to close the season as a success if defeat comes.
If we play to our capabilities and Paisley come out on top it'll be a sure sign they are the better side. The main thing is we match the levels we put out against the OF then there won't be a complaint from me either way.
Look forward to seeing this 'huge away support' filling the Shankly and Main Stand.
Thank you.
I know I tend to agree with you most of the time and this post is no different, exactly my sentiment.
it’s been a really good, uplifting season - a lot of really good performances and in The Doc we’ve got a cracking manager. I’m looking forward to the next few games and very excited about next season. Let’s get our foot firmly on those DAB cuntos throats.0 -

I agree with you. It was poorly worded, but if he was claiming Dundee Utd won the UEFA Cup, then why bother adding 'final'?
I can't see how anyone can seriously dispute Utd are the bigger Dundee club, tbh. Dundee FC were bigger until the 1970s has always been my understanding.
Bigger - who knows but right now we are the top team in Tayside without question.

Love to see it. For all the talk of this being a ‘showdown’ the only result that would decide things is a Saints win. Dundee aren’t making up a five point deficit in three games, two of which are at ibrox and Tynecastle, if we get three points, it’s over.
A draw would certainly put us in the driving seat, but a two point lead with three games to go is far from decisive. A Dundee win would put them just one point ahead with a worse goal difference. Unlike Dundee, we could lose tomorrow and still finish 5th.
We haven’t won a game for over two months, it feels like a long time. We will need to win one of these last four to get top five, might aswell make it tomorrow and we can get the passports out.Think that’s a pretty fair summation.
We‘’be had a very good season, for us, but over the last few games things seemed to have really clicked. Ordinarily I should be extremely confident going into this match, expecting us to come out on top, but that’s not the Dundee way. Who knows, a draw is the most likely result, although I’ll be very surprised if there are not goals. Heart says 2 nil, head says 2 each.1 -

I’ve noticed some Motherwell and Celtic fans had parked right outside the Derry on dens road the last couple of games without issue.
Yeah. They don’t seem to have to wardens out every week.

He's definitely captain material I'd say. Docherty has him down as one of the most influential in the group.
Totally agree. The boy is a winner.

With the parking restrictions around the stadium, where's my best place to park?
The restrictions are fucking horrendous. They’ve introduced a no parking zone round the whole stadium on match days. It’s signposted as you drive into it but it’s easy to miss the signs. Even streets with no restrictions are no parking areas on match days. Tread carefully!

Think this is going to be a belter of a game with both teams evenly matched. I'm hoping home advantage counts here and if earlier on in the season is anything to go by we have a good chance - we're a better team now.
Dundee win, McCowan and Bakayoko 2-1.
We’re definitely a better team and very high in confidence.

Just beautiful. Really looking forward to following the second half. A wee Ross County come back would be fab.

Beck is a big loss I reckon but if we get 5th I reckon we will see him back on a short term loan. Europe qualification will give us access to high quality loans.
The only possibility of seeing Beck stripped at Dens again is if Liverpool reserves pop up to Dundee for a pre season friendly. Which used to be a regular occurrence back in the day. A few high profile Liverpool players made their debuts for Liverpool at Dens.

Lamie plays for me. Would play him week in week out. Him and Portales played well together.
If Donnelly was to play it’s in place of Dodgson. Donnelly’s use of the ball lets him down. Not sure he’s any quicker than Lamie tbh.
Would be daft to change the starting 11 after a really good performance. Bring on Main and Mellon or Mulligan for the last half hour if all is going to plan.
It’s Lamie all day long over Donnelly at the moment and Dodgson over Donnelly at left back too.

Robertson looked like an amateur at Parkhead, if you watch it back he loses his man every time and is nowhere near the level we need to progress. The boy can trap a ball and find a pass; his overall game is league one/lower cHampionship. We need to move on from players like him.
As for Bakayoko i'm okay with having him as part of a four man strike force next season which couldn't also include Pineda. Bakayoko has scored 6 goals and assisted 5 which is an average return. Sometimes he looks like he can't be arsed. I suppose we need a bit of continuity so i'll take Bakayoko, Boateng, McCraacken and Dodgson from the loan deals.
Thank you.
I feel a bit cammy about Robertson but I’ve eventually had to face facts and he’s not going to make it with us. I agree with you about the 4 loanees worth signing. Mellon probably too but his stock is possibly too high for us, despite not getting much of a chance - maybe his performances at training haven’t justified it. Donnelly has had some decent spells in games but he’s had some absolute shockers. Hopefully Astley and the homegrown youngsters get a chance over him next season. I think Dodgson has looked ok, half decent pace, not bad going forward, strong - he’s clearly no Owen Beck but he’s literally in a different league altogether.
I wonder if Anderson might get another chance? His biggest failing imo was not getting his head up to see passes and ‘dying’ with the ball. Tiffoney also suffers from this but he seems well loved by everyone else.0 -

The last 4 pages of this thread make me sick. Some absolute no mark clubs have had incredible seasons by their own usual dugshite standards; st Mirren, Dundee and Kilmarnock, with lots still to play for.
You’d think they’d be talking about their near rivals in the table, and when they play etc, yet all fans of the three of them want to talk about is when/ where they play rangers and Celtic, and where they’ll get to win the league.
When are you playing them next?

On another note, anyone contributing to the 1893 club I received an email today about an event on the 29th and improvements that will be in place for next season.
Good to see there's going to be more effort put in.
Thank you.
I stopped as I had no idea where the money was going. Might have another look if they sort themselves out.

We'd beable to pay the 66K off alone with the Sky money from the live game from Dens next Sunday.
That's before you factor in over 4000 away fans paying £30 a pop, full hospitality and home end sales.
We then have a massive home match infront of a bumper crowd against St Mirren which can put us into a European position.
Kilmarnock to end the season should also see a decent away following as they finish the campaign in fourth. If we've picked up a few results it'll be another bumper home crowd.
Of course there's then the 140K plus between finishing 7th and 6th. If we finished bottom six we'd have been due the likes of Livi at home in a meaningless borefest.
Thick as mince. Things are all good down Dens way don't you worry.
Thank you.
Well said.

Vote no on banning artificial pitches, rip the pitch up and put in our own plastic one, just to piss people off. Sick of this nonsense, to threaten such a heavy fine for one postponement next season is absurd.
I’m defo up for this.
Not sure about other areas of Scotland but we’ve had 20% (160mm) of our average annual rainfall (800mm) in the last 3 weeks. How much contingency do you build in to your drainage system?

Jordan McGhee deserves a mention on his own. That was one of thr best performances I've seen from him over his years at the club.
I complained about him weekly as a centre midfielder but he's always been a useful defender in my book as a second choice. Tonight though with a performance like that he could start for us next season as a RB. He really was outstanding tonight and I don't think thats overdoing it.
Hes definitely been told to get forward more aswell. At the seasons start when on the right he was scared to cross the half way line and had no confidence in his forward passing. He looked a different player tonight, the charging forward in the second half was class.
Keep it up McGhee.
Thank you.
Great shout. Totally agree.

Great result and well deserved. McCowan the best player on the park. Have to say I like Dodgson, I’d be signing him if poss. Bakayoko also, he’s not Pele clearly but he does a job. Boateng is another ‘keep’ if poss. Robinson is a no for me. A half decent spell in the seaside league, attitude suspect, the Doc clearly doesn’t rate him. Costelloe is not as bad as the Sanities aresholes led us to believe but he’s another no for me. Neither Donnelly or him look much better than our own, home grown versions.

Oh to find a Gogic type. Big Joe has done a bit of that work but frankly he’s not as good and next season will be 1 too far. Boetang made a difference when he came on, would love us to sign him but I doubt half a season on the bench has done us any favours in that direction. Wee Lyall gets lost in games like this, just not got the stature to mix it with this incessant, physical press. Bakayoko had an off day, he’s no world beater but there’s a reason he starts every week - because the Doc thinks the rest are worse. Tiffoney just doesn’t do it for me, not a starter imo. Lamie and Donnelly likewise, I get Donnelly is young so I’m not totally writing him off. With centre halves like them we need 2 holding midfielders against the better teams. Also thought McCracken was suspect today although he didn’t have that much to do other than pick the ball out of the net 3 times. As I’ve said before these failings give me hope that we could be better next season if properly addressed.
