  1. Would absolutely love to have him back but I doubt we'd have much chance, he'd probably get a much better offer either down south or one of the Premiership teams up here. Strangely he seemed to be playing more at right-back than in midfield for Sheffield United I think, always thought he looked best for us on the left wing.
  2. We're more than covered at centre-back with Grant, Watson, Muirhead, Vaulks (still his best position IMO) and McCracken as back-up. We should be using any money left to find a keeper and strengthen the midfield.
  3. This. He's done a great job at left back IMO and improving all the time. He's not as bad defensively as some make him out to be and is a great outlet going forward. Really don't know what some of our fans expect sometimes.
  4. Fantastic news with Luke signing an extension really didn't think we'd be keeping him. Really don't understand the criticism of him on the last few pages either. He's great at getting forward from left back and is still IMO improving defensively all the time. And Tam Scobbie better left back than Leahy? Horrendous shout.
  5. It's probably because he's shite tbh. Looked good in cup games against lower league teams but aside from that showed nothing. You need to be pretty shite to be less effective than David Smith but he managed it.

  7. Yep another wage saved. Peterhead/Elgin next up id imagine.
  8. Would explain why we had Maybury and Cooper wasting 2 places on the bench tonight then. Good luck to Ryan he's not really showed it in our first team yet but he's looked a class above in the under 20s and there's definitely potential there, makes a lot more sense than the Botti transfer anyway. Tony Gallacher will be next IMO.
  9. I think it makes perfect sense for him to see out the season with East Fife. We've already got 4 strikers ahead of him (though I do accept how injury prone McHugh seems to be) so much better for his development to keep playing first team football at the moment. Also I'm assuming he was part time at East Fife it gives him 6 months to get used to full time training and to get to know our players before being considered for selection.
  10. Aye reading between the lines to what Houston said on the radio earlier 'paying a small undisclosed fee and been lighting up divisions below us' I think Austin is a sure bet. Good signing if we complete it and by the sounds of things we will be loaning back to East Fife till the end of the season.
  11. He's definitely not done himself any harm over the last 2 friendlies anyway. Be interesting to see who would drop out of midfield if he was start.
  12. The team almost picks itself really with only 1 or 2 places up for grabs. Rogers Muirhead Watson Grant Leahy Taiwo Kerr Vaulks Sibbald Baird Mchugh Subs: Bowman Dick Cooper Smith Alston Shepherd Maybury Reckon that's how we'll go with possibly Thomas Grant or Ryan Blair instead of Maybury.
  13. Extremely harsh to put both Mark Beck and Tam McManus in there amongst that lot. McManus especially was underrated second time round IMO.
  14. Agree that we're definitely needing a new right-back but with Leahy here then we're not needing another left-back.
  15. I think it would probably take a stupid bid to take him away in this window. With him we've got an excellent chance of finishing 3rd or 4th but without him I can see us losing out to Queens. So it probably depends on the prize fund for finishing 3-5th and how much the club thinks the play offs would bring in but at a guess id say we'd deal at about £100k?
  16. I'm surprised you recognise him tbh I'm pretty sure I could walk past him in the street without recognising him. He's absolutely fucking shite tbf. Rakish Bingham level of shiteness IMO.
  17. I think if played right (with a strike partner rather than up on his own) then there's no reason Loy couldn't make the step up tbh. He's a good striker but a fantastic footballer. He's occasionally too selfish and he's not great at penalties but his positives more than outweigh the negatives. He's such an intelligent footballer and links up superbly with midfield, his workrate is exceptional and if given a chance in the box more often than not he'll take it. Though he is prone to the odd dive. We seem to have struck a good balance just now with him, Baird and Sibbald all linking up well and between them created near enough every chance we had yesterday. Id definetly out of our 3 strikers (Loy, farid and Taylor) that Loy is the best of the 3. Comfortably too good for this level IMO.
  18. Yep I'd go along with that. Out of the 3 of them I would definitely say Loy was the better 'footballer' and also the best finisher. The thing with Loy is he's at his best when he's got someone who will stay up front and then that let's him have a free role in behind to drift out wide or come deep and get the ball. Like has been mentioned his football brain is ridiculously good and the only real criticism I can have from him is he's poor in the air and he's prone to the occasional dive (see Saturday) He's proved he's more than good enough to go up to the Premiership but he might fancy another crack at it down in England. Either way he's too good to be playing at this level.
  19. Is Latapy definitely in? I'm not sure if he is or not. Pretty sure Densil Theobald got in without ever making an appearance for us though.
  20. Taiwo might've been upset at being taken off yesterday but that doesn't change the fact he's absolutely rank and offers us absolutely nothing. So far Houstons signings leave a lot to be desired, MacDonald aside. We've got Maybury who is finished and should be nowhere near true first-team. Cooper who after having a decent pre-season has done nothing when it really matters and is struggling to even get off the bench these days, Taiwo a centre-midfielder that can't pass the ball 2 yards. Awful. Tudor Jones is just there to be a big c**t in the middle of the park again another midfielder that can't pass the ball, Smith I saw for the first time yesterday and he contributed nothing and that leaves us with Boulding who in the glimpses we've seen so far looks John Stewart like in his pishness. His attempted cross yesterday really summed him up. Obviously we don't know how much these guys are on a week but it looks like Houston had a decent enough budget to go and get a few players in but he's failed miserably so far and brought the wrong players in.
  21. Won 3-1 tonight. Rory Boulding played again and scored.
  22. Brian Graham id be happy with but really hope we're not looking at Chalmers, proved last season he's not good enough. Much rather we kept the faith in Liam Dick.
  23. He's absolutely shite. That pretty much covers it tbh.
  24. Very good player, his signing turned our season around last year. We used him as a sitting midfielder but I feel he's better when he's getting box to box. Good passer of the ball, likes to get stuck in, decent shot on him and good with set-pieces. Only real negative is he does love a booking. He didn't get much of a chance at Dundee Utd a few years ago but there's no doubt he's good enough to make the step up.
