On that showing I doubt they would've thought much of Farid (thankfully) and especially Sibbald. However I'd be amazed if Duffie and Wallace didn't impress they were easily our best players today.

Yep really great news getting them both signed up. Weatherston has really improved in the last month or so and as showed on Saturday has become quite an important player for us and as for Duffie he's improved so much this season and to get him signed up for another year as least means we'll get a decent fee for him when he goes probably in the summer imo. He's improved defensively but going forward this season he's been fantastic just beats players with ease. As for Sibblad it would be brilliant to see him back on Saturday. I thought he would've been out for longer and that really says a lot about him he's battled back so quickly.

After seeing Saturdays disaster a wide player along with another striker are badly needed. I know it was centre-midfield where we were the worst on Saturday but I'd like to think that Millar, Murdoch, Alston and perhaps Higginbotham should be good enough options in there.

I think because it was in the league then he'll be available on Tuesday but suspended for the Partick game. The same as Mark Millar. Personally I'd bring Murray Wallace in for him against Dundee anyway, that was sheer stupidity on his part yesterday.

Yeah our squad is horrendously thin, we're well covered at the back but going forward it's not looking good. With Compton away that leaves us with no real wingers so we need to get players playing out of position there and we only have the one striker so if Allagui doesn't settle or turns out to be shite then there's nothing we can really do about it. Hopefully now with Bradford paying Compton's wages we will be able to bring in a couple of players even if it's just on short-term deals.

Yeah another striker (and a wide midfielder) is really crucial now. From what we've seen so far there's no way we can rely on Ally Graham for the first-team yet. We seem to be able to bring few some decent defenders and midfielders but when it comes to strikers they've pretty much all been fucking rank since Lee Miller.

Really? I thought the pitch was in relatively poor condition the other night with the goal-mouths in particular being extremely poor.

I don't think they've signed, I'd imagine it's more to do with the fact that everyone already knows who they are so there's not much point in announcing them as 'trialists'. I wouldn't be surprised. It's common knowledge that Pressley isn't exactly Compton's biggest fan and one way or another I expect him to be away before the start of the season.

We played some decent stuff at times tonight although we are still a bit toothless up front of course. The Positives: Rhys Bennett played the first half and played quite well, he also gives us some much needed height. Matt Flynn came on for him at half-time and he too put a very solid shift in. Steven Kingsley surpringsingly put in a great shift in midfield. He done well to keep going after that shocking tackle from Kisnorbo. McGovern didn't have an awful lot to do but his communication with his defence was excellent certainly an improvement on Boaby. The Negatives: Tam Sobbie. His own goal was bizarre, a bit like Armand One against us last week really. For the second goal he simply wasn't paying attention to Snodgrass and left him with a free header. He's also still never a full-back. With Darren Dods at the back if teams try to play long balls against us then he'll just head the ball away all day long but if we keep playing this ridiculously high line then with his 'pace' we're going to get caught out time and again. He played and scored against Dundee Utd.

£150k for Flynn is a cracking deal for us, he'll obviously be missed but that sort of money is worth a good few players to us. Hopefully as well as McManus, McGovern and the French striker we're able to bring in another wide midfielder to sort of replace Flynn because we're looking a little light there now.

I'd be extremely surprised if we get as much as that for Flynn. Even if we did I doubt we'd be bringing that many players. I'd imagine 3 would be our limit unless we're able to get a few very cheap loan signings in.

Really? Why? Our priority should be first getting a 'keeper signed up, then a few strikers and only after they issues are resolved should be look at improving the rest of the squad. Even so we really don't need a player like Severin. A few years ago when we was a cracking midfielder he would of course strolled into our team but as a centre-back he's nowhere near as effective and considering we already have Dods, Scobbie, Wallace and possibly that c**t from Bolton we definitely don't need another centre-back. Besides there's not a chance we'd be in a position to pay much at all towards his wage, I'd be extremely surprised if he's not on more money than any of our current players.

We've had the same team for both games so far and barring any more transfers between now and Saturday I'd imagine we'd line up like this: Bowman Duffie Wallace/Bennett Scobbie Kingsley French Trialist Millar Murdoch Trialist (Winters) Higginbotham Good French trialist The only other options we have are Compton, Alston and possibly McManus although he was nowhere to be seen against Dundee Utd. Does anyone know what's up with Dods and why he's not featured so far?

Great news that Twaddle's away he's fucking horrendous. But I hope we'll be able to bring in a new left-back the thought of Scobbie playing there on a semi-regular basis scares me.
