Boris to be investigated by the Tories. Nothing will happen. Most of them agree with him.

He wants *something* to happen.  This whole episode has Bannon's fingerprints all over it.  They're making their move.

    Good afternoon,

Welcome to an unofficial Ladbrokes Championship 2018/19 Fantasy Football game. The game will run for the duration of the 36 scheduled Ladbrokes Championship fixtures for the upcoming seasons. Play-off and cup fixtures WILL NOT be part of this game.

The game is FREE to enter for anyone who wishes to play. There is no prize for this game. It is done for fun and enjoyment and to help fill a gap in the lack of properly organised Fantasy Football games within Scottish Football.

Unlike previous games I have run, this one is based on a brand new platform which should be fluid and easy to use. The game can be accessed at - https://spfl.fantasyclubfootball.co.uk/

    General

    • There can only be one team registered per email address
    • Each team has a budget of £55 million to assemble their team.
    • Each team must contain 11 players with no limit on a number of players from each Championship side. Other than a compulsory goalkeeper, team managers may select any combination of players up to a maximum of 5 defenders, 5 midfielders and 4 strikers. In essence you could play the Jimmy Calderwood famed 2-4-4 or 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 or 4-2-4 - as long as you have one player in each positions.
    • Each team can select a captain who will score double points.
    • Gameweeks begin every Saturday at midday. This is when transfers and captain changes are processed.

    Scoring:

    Ever Player gets:

    • 2 points for starting a match
    • 1 point for coming on as a substitute
    • -2 points for a yellow card
    • -6 points for a red card

Points for assists, goals scored, clean sheets and goals conceded vary per position and can be found - https://spfl.fantasyclubfootball.co.uk/fantasy-rules

The man of the match element has been set to 0 as it is wildly inconsistent and at most grounds picked by a sponsor for a player in the home team.

    Clean Sheets

A clean sheet is awarded for not conceding a goal whilst on the pitch and playing at least 60 minutes(excluding injury time).

If a player has been substituted when a goal is conceded this will not affect any clean sheet bonus.

    Red Cards

If a player receives a red card, they will continue to be penalised for goals conceded by their team.

Red card deductions include any points deducted for yellow cards.

    Assists

Assists are awarded to the player from the goal scoring team, who makes the final pass before a goal is scored. If an opposing player touches the ball aftger the final pass before a goal is scored , significantly altering the intended destination of th eball, then no assist is awarded.

In the event of a penalty of free-kick the player earning the penalty or free-kick is awarded an assist if a goal is directly scored, unless the player who was fouled takes the kick himself.

    Transfers:

    • Each team gets 1 free transfer each week
    • Making additional transfers is permitted but will incur a cost of -5 points per transfer
    • When a captain is transferred out a team, the team will be without a captain and a new one should be selected.
    • Transfers are free and unlimited until 12:00 on Saturday 4th August when the first game week will begin
    • Transfers and captain changes may be submitted at any time but will not take effect until midday the following Saturday, so they are active for the upcoming gameweek.
    • Teams will be able to play one transfer wildcard per season. This will allow them to make free, unlimited transfers for one week only.

    Notes:

    • If there are any players from your team that I have missed, simply let me know and I'll add them to the game.
    • Information on goalscorers, assists and yellow cards will be taken from official club websites(where available) and club twitter sites. In the event of an error, the stats will be updated when checked and verified.
    • Points will be added on Saturday evening/Sunday mornings. Point updates are automatic(no waiting until the middle of the night anymore) when I input the data. I'll post on this thread when I update the scores for each week.

I think that is everything, but if you have any questions that I haven't covered above just let me know.

Feel free to share this game throughout your own club forums/group chats/social circles. The more players the better!

    Good Luck!

    SLJ

SLJ, I take that there's no functionality on the website to allow for sub leagues?  I was just thinking that supporters of each team might like to keep track of who's top dog for their team.

What's football without bragging rights after all?

Shankland was abysmal with us, to the point where he actively harmed us defensively. He was out of shape and as a result was unable to press defenders adequately, which in turn put undue pressure on our midfield. He scored two goals over the course of half a season and that was the sum total of his contribution. He's a completely different player than the one we had. While the improvement has been stark, let's see how he copes with a full season in the Championship before we christen him the next big thing.

It was actually 4 goals in 13 league starts but yeah the rest is spot on!

It was actually 3 from 13 starts, and 1 in one of his 3 sub starts.

He was ridiculously off the pace in his time with us.  There were very occasional signs of the player he might be, but most of the time is was difficult to even figure out what type of striker he was meant to be.

Can we consider the polite and helpful intermission over with now and get back to calling each other c*nts?

You can't really argue with Derek Ferguson's research and logic.

I mean, it's not like a club with less resources finished 12 points ahead of Morton and got promoted, having taken 10 points from the head to head meetings between the sides, with Morton sitting in the playoff places going into the last quarter before collapsing as Duffy deviated from a winning team for absolutely no reason.

Also entertaining how his own "analysis" of the last 10 games shows how we were on automatic relegation form.  Such an amazing job he was doing.

Everyone feasts on Mets pitching, to be fair.

That’s Syndergaard back today so we’re post-season bound. Either that or he’ll be on the 60 day DL tomorrow.

ETA - or this! The hilarity continues apace.

Further evidence that we're all of secondary importance when it comes to sustaining LondonLand.

That report is a bit of an exercise in stating the obvious, but it's still scary reading. Always pisses me off that this would be portrayed as part of the mechanism of "pooling and sharing" by unionists.  It is fudge.

Usually big contracts head south towards the tail end.  Look at Hunter Pence - 35 and can barely hit the ball out of the infield.  But he also got two world series rings. So you take it.  It's arguable if the Mets ever got value for money from that Cespedes deal though.

Definitely.  The Mets have been chasing the player they got when they first traded for him in 2015 and they came oh so close to the big prize.  When he opted out of his contract at the end of 2016 you could understand that they were reluctant to let him go, so he gets a new 4 year deal at megabucks. It's been one injury after another ever since and his salary becomes a massive obstacle to building for the future.  It's fucked.

Surgery with a recuperation time  of eight months, no less.  What's his contract situation?

Signed till end of 2020 I believe. I read that he’d played in less than half the Mets games since signing his last contract at the end of 2016 season. Excellent bit of business.

This season, I remain optimistic we're capable of topping this.  I'm thinking Robert Gsellman transitions his way to ineligibility or Brandon Nimmo spontaneously combusts rounding third base (minimum 60 day DL).

Cespedes out for 2 months, returns and plays one game and then announces he needs season ending surgery. Aye. That about tops Syndergaard.

    f**k and, indeed, sake.

Syndergaard to the DL with foot and mouth disease. Even by Mets standards this is bizarre.

Kind of. Appointed First Team coach but then labelled as his 'right hand man', a description you would normally associate with an Assistant Manager.

Still unclear if he covers both roles or if someone else is incoming.

Strange it has taken this long to confirm someone who has clearly been working at the club since McKinnon came in.

Fair enough, my reading of it was he'd be Ray's 2nd in command, but i take your point!

Not seen anything confirmed and only McKinnon is listed on the official site. Darren Taylor is clearly at the club as several players have mentioned him but not sure in what capacity. He's been a Coach and a Director of Football as part of McKinnon's setup before so who knows.

That's Darren Taylor's role clarified then.
