  1. The steps you see are actually on half of what will be there. That was the existing steps from the terrace, the steps will extend up and backwards the back wall of the stand.
  2. Spain - You're a man in the know. Is it true there are plan to erect a temporary stand between the East Stand and the Away end? I assume one of the 'Wendy House' types that Falkirk (used to) and Hamilton use.
  3. There will be no announcement about this one tomorrow, as a certain Mr Tokely is currently on holiday! And anyway, my sources say e is heading further East than Dingwall..
  4. Hope it's not somewhere too warm! With that Hair / Skin anything more than 12'C and he'll be out for half the season with severe sunburn !
  5. Stadium update..... I went for a look around the stadium today, whilst being dragged shopping in Dingwall! And the away stand is coming along quite well, considering the steel work only started going up on Monday. They seem to have the majority of the main steel up already for the away stand.
  6. A bit harsh on Joe Malin too i feel. He's not had the chance to play simply because over the last few years we've had very good experienced keepers who have been in before him. And in the games I have seen him play he's not exactly done an awful lot wrong. And to be honest his kicking / distribution I think is far better than what both Fraser's and McGovern's was. Corcoran is a decent player when he's fit. But is suspect he'll be more of a squad player than a regular starting eleven player - such as he was this season
  7. The celebrations following that goal saw Jimmy Scott of all people trying to control the County fans, pulling them back into the County section of the stand. But he certainly enjoyed the goal too. Talking about Jimmy Scott, I seen him at the Hamilton game the other week, when we got the trophy. He was just sat in with the other fans, not a players section or anything, so I guess he just fancied taking in a game.
  8. If anyone is interested, it's been reported on OTB that they have started erecting the steel work for the away stand today. I think Spain will confirm we are currently running to schedule with the re-development!
  9. With regards to the new pitch at Victoria Park, does anyone know if it's a newly sewn pitch we are getting, or is it turf that is being laid??
  10. I think we could still claim the record, as we've done it without the need of the second placed team being deducted points.
  11. In order to play int he SPL we have to make modifications to the pitch.. So we've decided to make it the same as Motherwell's pitch... Only took a couple of big machines and a day!
  12. There was no names given to me, just numbers. But I have a feeling after reading Flynn's posts on twitter today that it possibly him... But that's just a guess. May also add fuel to the rumour of Zander Diamond coming to County
  13. Last night was indeed a good night. Would I be right in guessing the shirt sponsors are to be 'Mitsui' I though Derek Adams was very good when interviewed, seemed a lot more relaxed and open when talking than when you hear him on the Radio/Telly. And full of praise for his players and backroom team and County admin staff. One little tit-bit I picked up was that out of the 12 players out of contract, 11 of them are to be offered new contracts, the other one has already said he wants to leave.
  14. If scoring 51 goals in 29 games, while conceding only 24 goals is boring, then I like boring football ! I always took long ball to be a punt out of defence by the center back or keeper, up to a big center forward, who heads it goalwards. That's not been us. Yes we've hit long ball, but I'd say they were more 50-60 yard diagonal passes to the feet of the forwards running into the channels. That's not long ball in my opinion. We also still do the tipppy tappy passing stuff, holding onto the ball, moving the opposition defence, then we'll get the defence splitting pass. Is this what Pressley was refering to 'Percentage football' ? As for the squad, I think most of it will stay the same - Maybe a couple of additions, but I'd think we'd have to get rid of some players in order to take others in.
  15. It was all to do with Foran I believe. Seemingly, what Foran says, goes, at Caley - no idea why, but that's what I head. and when Foran was offered a new deal last season, he said he'd only sign if Munro wasn't there - I have no idea what the problem was between the two of them - did they both want the captaincy ? Anyway, Butcher obviously felt Foran was more important to Caley than Munro was, so Foran got a deal, Munro didn't. In my opinion, a massive mistake by Butcher, but from a County perspective, a great decision !
  16. I probably worded it wrongly, but he was awarded the testimonial by ICT... Just that Ross County promised to play in it. Hence why the game is in Inverness and not Dingwall
  17. Never heard a date, but I did hear at the start of the season it was part of his signing on agreement that he got a testimonial - and it was suspected it would be against Caley. I also heard at the time he would play one half for County and one half for Caley, which probably means he'll play for the current County team and possibly the Caley 'legends team'
  18. When they went to make the sub, they first indicated for Vigurs to come off, but then Ketts was needing attention, they changed their minds and indicated to Vigurs to stay on. I suspect they were going to try out the Brittain / Lawson/Kettlewell/Quinn midfield ahead of Saturday's game. As for the Morton goal, I felt it was more to do with Brittain coming off. Miller was getting a hard time all game down that side of the pitch, and Brittain did a lot of work helping him out. After Brittain went off I felt Miller was a bit exposed. And the goal came down that side of the pitch
  19. Regarding Russell Duncan. I think he will be an important player come January / February when the pitches get heavy and games become more of a battle. The fact that he is now starting to get minutes at the end of games is pretty much his pre-season I would say. As for the stadium reconstruction if we were to get to wint he league. We were told at the start of the seasont hat planning permission is all in place - it has been for several years now. The terrace at the away end would be turned into a stand, the football academy behind it, was built at the time ready for a stand to bolt onto it, so the work is partly done. There is also some work to do at the Jailend - it was mentioned a two tier stand, but not sure exactly how it would look. The terrace next to the East Stand would also be seated. All this work would take 12 weeks we've been told. I guess we'd need the undersoil heating too, although there was talk of the rule changing to pitch protection and covers may well be sufficient in future seasons. Anyway, we're ahead of ourselves here. There is still 23 games to go.. and at present we need at least another 21 wins and a draw before we can talk about it !
  20. Surprisingly I went to the dentist for the first time in around 5 years - my old dentist closed down and I couldn't find another one that would take us on... Until the one I now have - So after not being in years I was quite worried about whet my teeth would be like considering the fizzy juice intake. But all I needed was a scrape and polish.
  21. At the start of November I weighed in at 17st 5lbs. (I am just a smidge under 6 foot tall) I decided to start losing some weight, and gave up the two biggest sins I had in my life - Irn-Bru and bread I was drink just over a litre of irn-bru a day, and would have toast for breakfast, sandwhiches for lunch, and sometimes a sandwhich in the evening. Apart from getting withdrawl shakes for a few days after not drinking the Irn-Bru, it was easy enough - I replaced it with diluting juice (no added sugar stuff). Bread got cut down, I still have toast int he morning, but I tend to have fruit for lunch, and I don't have the sandwhich snacks int he evening i used to. This morning I weighed in at 12 st 5lbs. A total loss of 5 stone (or 70 lbs) since November. Some of you that know me, will have seen the before/after picture I had. And to be honest I have never felt better. I've done no additional exercise (always went for walks, climb a few hills etc). But I I am now planning on doing a bit more. I'm not the type to head to the gym or stuff, but I'll probably get invloved with some 5-a-side or something.
  22. Eh ? Are we talking the same Garry Wood here ? The main problem we have with the Garry wood we have, is his pace.... It's such that the contenental drift can catch him after a five yard head start !
  23. The thing is with Di Giacamo, he will play quite well until the clocks go back in October, and you won't see anything from him until the go forward again in March. For what ever reason, during his time with County he simply didn't do anything dduring the winter months.. In fact at one game the fastest I saw him run, was when he got subbed off, and he made his way to the warm shower. I supppose the warmer climate on the Scottish Riviera that is Greenock, then Morton may just get a few extra weeks out of him during the season.
  24. I'm feeling quite good about the signings we have made so far. I would say in general the squad has been improved - albeit the goalkeeper position maybe not as good (at the moment) Defence is a lot stronger with Munro in there, although I still think right back is the weak link in our defence, and with Marr's loan deal over we only have Miller there now. Midfield, Duncan is a good signing and will bolster that, Some of the players we've lost were fringe players from midfield, so the weaker players gone, and a stronger player in makes us better I feel. Up Front, the loss of Barrowman is a blow as I felt him and McMenamin would have worked well togther, but McMenamin is a proven scorer at this level, and if reports of Byrne are true we could have a good striker on our hands if the team can continue to create the chances we did last season. After the disaster of last season, I am feeling a bit more positive about the season ahead
