  1. Still can’t defend a lead. Still can’t win when the other team scores. Still can’t score a penalty. Still clown car defending every week. Still no bottle. Still no resilience or ability to respond to any set back. Not good enough. We can play all the nice football we want but we’ve no resilience or bottle whatsoever, rendering it pointless. No chance that team is winning a play-off. We’ve literally one way of playing which is batter a team into submission, and even then we can’t defend a lead anymore. If that game plan doesn’t work we’re fucked. Give Ian McCall what he wants because that team isn’t getting promoted without a proper manager.
  2. I’d be delighted if we got Jamieson back. Not sure how much of a game he’s getting at St Mirren? But I can’t think of any scenario in which I’d rather play any of Salim, Dixon or McGregor (through the middle) upfront than Jamieson. As I said above, if any of our current front three are out for an extended period of time we’re snookered. Looking forward to playing the play-off final with Janny, Dixon and Dom Kavanagh as the front three.
  3. I think you can buy a ticket in the stadium bar before the game but other than that it’s all online tickets or season tickets. Not sure the reason for no cash gate other than it being a Covid casualty.
  4. I suppose it’s not really any different to him being in the squad but never coming on, but if I wonder if Bright heading out on loan might see us bring in forward? We’re cutting it pretty fine in terms of signing someone but Salim and Dixon being our only forwards off the bench is a bit grim. Gabby picks up injuries here and there and if either Gal or Smith went out injured for a period of time we’d be fucked.
  5. I would put Smith back in myself but I wouldn’t be annoyed if he went with the same team and system he played last week. He’s been pretty set on going with the three forwards so I’d be surprised if Smith wasn’t straight back in but you never know.
  6. The Albert is probably the best pub and is also closest to the ground. The West End Bar is good and close to the station but is in the opposite direction and would be a bit of a walk to the ground. Cue Here is always a good shout but you’re probably best to just head straight to The Albert to maximise your drinking time.
  7. *Googles how much is an East Stirlingshire half- season ticket?* In all seriousness, he’s not getting a game for us atm so he’s as well going on loan to play first team football at a decent level and learn from it + potentially show what he can offer. Hope the big man smashes it!
  8. Is it not embarrassing that this halfwit tweets shite like this practically every day? I get that Annan aren’t his full-time employers, and he’s entitled to his opinion (which in this case is wild and patently untrue whatever you think of Yusaf) but he’s still in a management position and a representative of your club, and thus, your town and community. At the very least he should be getting told to wind his neck in or make his personal Twitter private.
  9. Mehmet and his defender crashing into each other and the referee awarding a free-kick was the particular 'highlight' of a truly inept display. Suppose he did get the big calls right in the penalty and second booking/red card but that was one of the worst refereeing displays I've seen in a long time. A Jackie McNamara player playing for another team spooked them IMO.
  10. We should go into this confident of getting a result, but for me it really depends on who we have in goals. I said it in our thread but as great a moment as the penalty save was, I don't fancy 90 minutes of Hutton at all. A big game and one I'm looking forward to. Hate to indulge any crowdwanking nonsense but it makes a difference to the atmosphere when the other stand is in use and the place is a bit busier in general. If you score you'll get at least a point. 5-4 Airdrie (after being 4-0 up) - Salim, Telfer, ATS, Euan Deveney and Kyan Gunn with the goals, Hutton to get sent off, Falkirk finally get a penalty and Liam Prunty saves it and McGlynn to be a slavering mess in his interview afterwards.
  11. I think Gordon Thompson is a qualified coach? Suppose if we don't sign an emergency loan and Hutton has to play one of the academy coaches could presumably take a spot? Or one of McCabe or Fordyce would have to bench themselves.
  12. I don’t think it’s incendiary or direct enough for him to get suspended but then again it probably doesn’t take a lot!
  13. I don’t agree with everything he says here, and he’s probably being fairer than is merited, but good on McCabe for calling out the referee out as his performance yesterday was an absolute nonsense.
  14. I think there is a rule that you have to have a certain number of qualified coaches in the dugout, maybe 2? Which is why Scott Black ended up in the dugout with Donald Jennow a few years ago, and I think is why Stevie Findlay was initially brought back to the club after the Stevie Aitchison fiasco. I assume like Scott Black, if it came to it Darren Barr or Ryan McStay from the academy could be in the dugout for a game.
  15. The penalty save was brilliant and I’m a real sucker for the badge thumping/kissing stuff after the game (more of that please). Celebrating the penalty save before the ball went out of play was also a good laugh. But I don’t fancy 90 minutes of Hutton next week! He looked like he could barely run when he came on and he had more than a couple of spills. There would also be the bizarre situation of another coach being on the pitch rather than in the dugout. I assume/hope we will sign an emergency loan. Murray Johnson would be ideal but if not I’m sure another young Premiership goalie would suffice. Looking forward to Hutton getting sent off and Liam Prunty having to come on. As long as we don’t sign bloody Dean Lyness…
  16. The score could genuinely be anything, not just tomorrow but in all our games. It's frustrating but like you say, we were excellent for an hour last week and showed we can get a result tomorrow. I think Dunfermline will win but I'd be happy with a draw and then a win at home v Falkirk next week.
  17. Who’s responsible for your side’s game management? You and Fordyce are the manager, assistant manager, captain, the two most senior players and play in the spine of the team. McCabe talks a lot about stopping crosses. And I don’t think he’s necessarily wrong about that in this game or across the season in general. But we conceded more goals from Saturday from in and around the edge of box and McCabe’s MO as a deep lying midfielder should be stopping them. Where’s him fronting up about this? Likewise Fordyce who was playing in Saturday’s defence so has a cheek to be bollocking anyone. And if stopping crosses, receiving red cards and penalties are a recurring problem this season why are they still or what are we doing to solve this problem? He’s taking the piss too when he says we could have made sure the game was dead and buried. We were 3-0 up at home with half an hour to go! Terrible refusal to take any responsibility.
  18. We’ve only won one game all season in which the opposition has scored so if you manage a goal you’ll get at least a draw.
  19. I know people have beef with McCall, and that’s possibly fair enough. I was only 5 when he was in charge though so I’ve just no knowledge of or reference point for it! My first game was 20 minutes of McCall’s team at least… As someone else said, he’s exactly the sort of manager that would get us out of this division. It’s immaterial though as I can’t see it happening. Not necessarily because he’s outwith our range but it’s more a timing issue and the fact McCabe won’t be going any time before the end of the season.
