  1. At a guess...Ian MacLeod and Scott McKenzie??
  2. I agree, he may not be the most skillful player we`ve had but he`s certainly giving 100%. When we thought we had equalised against ICT, you could see what it meant to the players. I just hope we can find a system that suits the personnel we have very soon before that spirit gets knocked out of them.
  3. Yes, although to be fair we had to come up two leagues during that period and won the 2nd Div, which was some kind of success (79/80)
  4. Thanks Ranaldo, undoubtedly my favourite Falkirk player, great finisher and stylish with it.
  5. Is this the boy that played left wing first half and didn't look great but switched to left back in the second half and looked a lot better. That`s the man.
  6. I heard that he was off to St Johnstone after trialling with us, never heard the outcome though. Looked decent against Airdrie especially the second half.
  7. O`Hara`s debut was definitely at Palmerston in April 2015....0-1
  8. Yes, that`s definitely it....we had beaten Aberdeen 3-1 in another classic to get to the qf. I can recall it being under floodlights when Tam young scored must have been 30yds out at least and I`m sure it was the Watson St end so you would have gotten a good view of it. Happiest I`ve ever been as a Falkirk supporter, genuinely felt we could beat anybody at Brockville back then.
  9. If I remember correctly, it was the same game that Tam Young scored a "screamer" ?
  10. I was at a Rangers match in the 60`s where they had to let some of the crowd over the advertising boards to sit until they eventually got squeezed in somewhere as the match progressed!!! I`ve a feeling it was mid sixties and we won 3-2 but I could be wrong.
  11. Wait until you get the action shots from the games.. eh @Bainsfordbairn
  12. All info you`re looking for should be in here....http://bettermeddle.org.uk/
  13. He was certainly late with the challenge and never got anywhere near the ball. Whether he deliberately tried to butt Nelson or just couldn`t avoid the challenge at that point is the question.
  14. Yes, and he did go down to Blackburn for trials but I think he picked up an injury there. Recently turned out for Republic of Ireland u19`s.
  15. Totally agree, he`s got to be well down the pecking order for going. He`s picked up injuries because of his combative style and probably been used too often when not fully fit. It`s the rest of the midfield that needs "beefed up".
  16. That`s a fact 100%. I`ve watched Falkirk since the early 60`s and every manager, no matter how good, will eventually outstay his welcome as far as the fans are concerned. If you`ve got sense, you`ll get out before that happens as with JJ. Sometimes, it overtakes you just as we`ve seen recently.
  17. I understand what you`re saying, its just that I genuinely didn`t feel that split. I know for a fact that some of the players were angry re the Trust letter, whether that contributed or not to the way they reacted I don`t know. I think it`s probably a lot more complex than just blaming this person or that.
  18. Ahhh, it was only the last season that he split the fans, management & players, sorry you didn`t make that clear in your earlier post. What exactly did he do to cause that. The only thing I remember that caused a split in the last season was certain members of the Trust sending a letter to the Board asking for his sacking. Now that caused a split with the board & fans..is that what you`re referring to?
  19. I`ve seen a few things levelled at him but never that one before.....
  20. I would agree with you and maybe go a bit further regarding that first season. Going into it, he had half a season under his belt doing the job along with Coyle. He lost nearly all of his best young players and we had no Brockville to play our home games. I for one thought he would be doing a fantastic job just to keep us in that league under those conditions and while it wasn`t pretty, we did survive and carried on upwards from there.
  21. I started going to games in 1962 as a kid and don`t recall any close relationship with Rangers and we certainly never signed Ralph Brand. We did pick up a few Rangers rejects in the latter part of the 60`s but it was over a number of seasons. Craig Watson, Alex Ferguson and Denis Setterington spring to mind.
