Ryan Flynn was then re-signed and sold for a higher sum. The current model would not have prevented Wallace from coming through.

You were quoting them along with Vaulks and Taylor as players we had just picked up and then sold on without them being in the Academy, I was trying to point out for the sake of clarity that they had been in our Academy and subsequently moved to Liverpool and Huddersfield respectively.

As I have said, the club should be making sure there are as many options as possible for people to contribute to the club. FSS should be one part of that.

I’m also not sure how the closure of the academy prevents us selling players. Vaulks, Taylor, Wallace and Flynn have all been sold without coming through our academy.

Will be controversial but another thing I would do to stop the gap becoming any bigger is to cap academy spending at current levels until we are established in the premier league.

There is a danger imo (which the board have done well to avert to far) that you have coaches and fans understandably wanting more investment and you end up as an academy with a football club attached again.

The current approach also frees up resources to take gambles like Yeats, Lawal and Adams.

Ryan Flynn was sold to Liverpool from our Academy in 2005. Murray Wallace was brought in from Rangers Academy to ours and spent a year or so in our Academy before getting into the first team.

  3. Don`t really have a hatred for any clubs (outside the old firm).

Although I`ll maybe make an exception for St Mirren, whose chairman threatened to go to court to stop us getting promoted to the Premier League if we won the vote to groundshare with Airdrie for a season. I`ll pin that one on their board rather than the fans though.

I believe Dunfermline, Aberdeen and possibly the two Dundee teams voted for us?

They've been doing that since (I think) 2014. Albeit they didn't get into the ward in 2020, 2021 and 2022, probably because of covid.

Massive shout out to the nurses and the NHS in general. I met the ward sister on our first visit and it was great to see her again on Monday, nine years later. No matter who the players or management are they're always very good with the kids, as anyone who's attended the junior bairns training days will know. But the real heroes are the nurses. They do an amazing job. 👋

Visited Stirling while Forth Valley was being built. This is 2010.

    He was.

Luke was a prolific goalscorer and a decent player for our youth teams. At the time he became too old for the U18s there was nothing in place at FFC for him to progress further like we have now. I remember his dad having a real go at the club and the setup on one of the FB pages at the time. He subsequently signed for Alloa. No idea whether he's still there and out on loan, or has been released.

I think I remember asking you about him as that story`s familiar.

No, I'm pretty sure he went to Tannadice a few days later. Haven't checked the dates though so I might be wrong.

That`s my recollection too. However, it may be that the Arbroath game in January that we won 4-1 was his last & that`s where the mix up is?

I think they were there at the same time aye. Baird didn't feature much for us though as he fell down the pecking order and spat the dummy. He spent more time being a seething mess in games against us than an actual effective player which was always amusing. I do miss him.

Yes, we signed him and Mark Kerr from you in the January window 2015. They were both very effective for us. (Kerr for the second time as he came up through the youth system in the Brockville days)

Was that the same day Liam Craig was an unused sub, but still got sent off?

Was that not why the wee soul came down, tears streaming down his face, to say LC had said a bad word?

I couldn`t remember what kicked it off but you could be spot on!! Wee Russell having to calm the situation.

    82 v Raith.

Another pic from the Raith game in April 82 shows the sparse attendance in the enclosure. The pic shows Wilson Hoggan scoring a penalty in the last 5 mins of the game to give Falkirk a 3-2 win. I think attendances were still suffering from the 3 seasons in the bottom league.
