Was impressed with him big step up looks a solid player

Agreed. A very good find from the lower reaches of the 6th tier.

To echo what others have said, trips to Arbroath next season (and possibly beyond) will be missed. But these things are cyclical; Arbroath have been the best part time team in Scottish football for close to a decade - including owning us for a good few years - but that was always going to end at some point. Not convinced McIntyre is the guy to get you back up, but I’d guess he’ll be given the summer window to put his own team together regardless.

A decent if unspectacular performance from us today. Definitely could have played better, but we were never really in danger and it was nice to finally keep a clean sheet.

Lodovica is out of contract end of season, I doubt he will be here next season regardless of which league we end up in.

We have only 5 or 6 players under contract for next season, Billy McKay and those signed at the start of last season on a two year, everyone else is up for renewal or away, plus lots of loanees who will go back to their clubs. Regardless of which league we end up in, its going to be a big clear out in the summer. Huge job for the management team. I think even those who still have a year left on their contract might not get that far.

I’d guess that some (if not all) of these players will have relegation release clauses as well where they’ll be given the option to walk away for free should you get relegated.

I just can’t see Caley going down, though. The quality of the playoff teams in L1 looks as low as I can remember, and it’s not as if you lot are some terrible team at this level either. At worst ICT are marginally weaker than about 5 or 6 other sides in the division - but should still have more than enough to stay up should it come down to playoffs.

I get the impression  the average P&B poster is Middleclass, went to Uni, has a beard, likes pro wresting, likes posting Simpsons memes.

They are football fans but actually hate the types of people that actually play football in the main. Working class comes from council estates. Bit too Crass for them.

It’s a class thing. Bit of snobbery going on here IMO

Constantly saying that people who don’t like the same thing as you must like pro-wrestling and have beards is a really weird take, btw.

If the rules stipulate a minimum of 5m clearance from touchline to hoarding, is that not sufficient for a run up to a throw in? How much room do you need?  Especially as could presumably get a good start by pushing against the hoarding. I doubt the clearance from the Cowshed perimeter wall at Cappielow is any more than 5m, if it’s even that.

if Partick didn’t have the required clearance from the touchline, presumably the referee should not have accepted the pitch as satisfactory for the game to start. Would be a laugh if they were penalised or told to play the game again…

If 5m was required between the pitch and the advertising boards/stands, then Tynecastle wouldn’t be allowed to host football matches.

Still no posts on this thread since Friday night - surely Brian Graham flossing his arse with this absolute gang once again is worth a bump?

I remember that thread being shared over here when it was first created. Seemed a good laugh at the time, a kind of one-off thing to vent about a league rival club that you don't particularly like. Ok, nice one.

But the fact it's still going nearly 2 years later, with regular bumps to laugh at Thistle every time we drop points, really is something. Forever in our shadow.

In terms of wingers what has happened with MacKenzie? He's come on a handful of times and looked decent enough taking on players. Maybe not at the same level as Fitzpatrick or Lawless but if it's not working like Tuesday night being able to bring him on as a fresh pair of legs could be the difference

Believe it or not based on his appearances this season, but Mackenzie is a CM naturally. It feels like he’s played in just about every position apart from there, but regardless that’s where he’s most comfortable.

What are the Chargers doing today then? $24 million over the cap they need to cut a couple of these guys later today.

    Mike Williams cut, as expected.

Khalil Mack restructures his contract so he’ll be staying.

Bosa and KA still tbc. Chargers are now cap compliant, but if they want to make any more moves they’ll probably need to free up some more cash.

  8. The last 20 minutes of the game where we were trying to get the ball into the box was some of the most frustrating football I can remember in a long time. It was like the whole team had forgotten how to lift the ball more than 3 feet off the ground. Weak, underhit nonsense attempts over and over and over again.

Raith won’t have to do less to win a game this season. One decent cross into the box, sit around watching us huff and puff ourselves to nothing and back up the road with three points. Fair play.

He's reliable enough. Nothing special, but a decent enough starter.

I'd have kept him at the salary you guys gave him, but also not too bothered we're going in another direction on the right side of the line.

He also talks a lot on social media.

    They’ve just released Aaron Jones

    Makes sense.

Cousins getting the big bucks again. The guy has made a stupid amount of money in his career.

  11. Delighted with the Wilkins signing. Yeah, it's a steep price, but we had the cap room and have needed a top DT for what feels like 30 years.

Josh Jacobs signing for the Packers is a surprise. Not particularly with him leaving he Raiders, which I think has always been on the cards, but the fact the Packers are now going to be paying both him and Aaron Jones decent cash at the RB position. I like Jacobs but ultimately not fussed he's gone.

Neilson is brilliant. And to be honest with a higher level of coaching, a more experienced manager and a higher quality of teammates & opponents - he is going to be one of the big Scottish players of the next 5-10yrs.

I’d say he’s been pretty good but has had a few lapses in concentration and strange moments. Definitely wouldn’t classify anything he’s done for us this season as brilliant.

I agree that he’s got a promising career ahead of him, almost certainly at a higher level than the Scottish Championship.

Google telling me Munn’s is back open? Or is that bullshit - was shut last year when we turned up and just managed to squeek in to the Woodside instead.

Munn’s has been open 95%+ of the time for the past few years. It was only closed for a couple of weeks last season due to some issue with the electricity. I’m guessing that period must have fallen during a home game vs Raith.

But aye, it’ll be fine for Tuesday night if you fancy sampling the wild plains of Munn’s Vaults pre-match on Tuesday.
