I've heard you are going to groundshare with us for the early part of next season so assuming the ground ain't near ready yet.

Would have thought Broadwood would have made more sense a bit of a pain in the arse coming through here every second week for a home game.

If that is true it is the least bad option - especially for those of us going by public transport. Station Hotel beckons!

Car drivers may well disagree with that.

Our 2016/17 amateur team had more League One wins than the current corn fed livestock. Even promotion wouldn’t make me respect them. It would simply mean they’d decided to show up for four games. Taken the club and the fans for a ride for 36 games. Send them all to Darvel.

OK an86. I've waited long enough. How are the respect levels now?

If you think they’ve given back as much as they’ve taken from the club this season, then fair enough. The best facilities, one of the best budgets, best treatments, and a chef equating to a 28% win record against part-time opposition. The style in which we do it is important now. These are well paid professionals. Not guys training twice a week and giving up their weekends for free.

We won more games at this level with a squad where very few of the guys went on to play at a higher level and weren’t earning hundreds of pounds per week. McGeever, Burns, McKernon, Brady, Galt etc. Decent part-time players, but their attitudes were first class.

I’ll celebrate if we go up. Of course I will. I don’t like this squad of players, though. No point in pretending that I do. I think a significant number of them are happy picking up a wage and have done the bare minimum to get by. How many would you keep?

You seem to be obsessed with this chef. I never knew having a chef was supposed to guarantee football success.

I think just about all the permanent signings we have made over the last couple of seasons have had really good spells. Unfortunately a lot of them have had really bad luck with injuries. Who we try to keep will depend on how serious some of these injuries are and of course how they fit into Owen Coyle's plans. I would happily take any of them back.

One thing I am sure of is that all of the permanent players that have played over the last two seasons have given their all.  To suggest otherwise from the safety of your keyboard is pretty pathetic.

I’m sure the team will be gutted that they don’t have your respect if we go up. Maybe if there is any sort of celebration with the team you can tell them that?
If this does happen I’ll be too busy celebrating to worry about anything else. Will look forward though to reading your post next day about how much we didn’t deserve to go up.

Any team that achieves success for QP has my utmost respect.

  5. Top four in League One. Best position we have finished in since the 4 tier system was introduced in 1994-5.

That is worth celebrating in my book and I managed to last night. Happy to leave all the doomsayers and boo boys to their misery and anger.

  6. The issue here is the recruitment. The players are either (1) too similar or (2) not good enough. Far too many loan players as well.
But no point booing and having a go at the players. I heard the usual suspects yesterday - quite sad really. The team don't pick themselves. Save your anger for those who are responsible for assembling (or more accurately cobbling together) this team.
And having said all that we are still in driving seat for play offs. 3 points (effectively 4) ahead of Falkirk .  They must be doing some things right.
So let's not chuck the towel in quite yet. If we get Murray or other injured players back soon (a big if I know) a lot can change

Credit to Darcy, a worldy of a strike. Tells you where our mentality is when we’re running over the to the bench to celebrate an equaliser at home to a bottom half side with five minutes left.

Are we really analysing how we celebrate goals now? The boy scores a brilliant goal and runs off to celebrate with his team. Ffs - what else do you expect him to do? Brisk handshake with his teammates and straight back to his own half?

I honestly think there are some people are looking for reasons to criticise.

I’ll be at the Barrowlands, so I’m expecting fully expecting these chumps to finally turn in a performance just to spite me. I hope they do tbf.

Aye I believe you. Let's hope the "chumps" put in another decent performance on Saturday so you know it's not personal.

Seriously I think last night showed that if you get players playing types of football and  in positions that they are comfortable with - they will play better.

It’s not been an enjoyable season.

Could have been better I grant you but I've enjoyed it on the whole. Certainly a lot better than watching it on the stream.

Depends how you approach these things I suppose. Look for the positives - if we do finish 4th (a big if I know) it will be our highest league finish since 1982 ( I think) when we finished 8th in the old First Division (18th highest league position). That was my first full season supporting QP so pardon me if I try to see the bright side.

Guff. Who is giving up their Saturday to sit in the cold in Methil and thinking “You know what? I really hope we’re shite today, so that I can have a good shout.” Nobody.

Unless you’ve been at different games from me, they’ve been given backing in every single game. Not a single game I can think of where the support hasn’t tried to push them home for a winner, time after time. They’ve given us very little back. That’s were the frustration and the anger comes in. We’re giving them more than they’re giving us. They need to know it’s not good enough. If that upsets a few people, so be it.

Nonsense. There were some fans slagging off the team from the start.

And to say the players aren't trying may fit your agenda but it is not true from what I can see. Too many similar players with little experience and no confidence - yes.

Anyway hope Luca and co prove you wrong on Saturday

  11. One thing's for sure, no one I know has put a better shift in at work after getting called shite and booed.

Totally agree - and it doesn’t matter whether they get paid.
I just don’t get how fans think how it is beneficial to have a go at players because they get paid. Not from any moral standpoint but for the simple reason that it is not going to make them play better. In the case of our team, which currently has a a load of young guys in it, it will have the opposite effect
If throwing abuse at players and calling them cowards and wasters online makes you feel better - go for it. But don’t expect the players to play better.
Confidence is what these players need and they are not going to get that unless we all try to get behind them. And I know that is not always easy and I often show my frustration too. But some of the stuff I’ve been hearing recently sounds premeditated.
  12. I'm sure we could easily afford it.  Any stewarding for a Glasgow Cup game getting played in the middle of a working day would be minimal. What sort of crowds are you expecting for what is essentially a training match? I'm pretty sure Thistle advertised our Glasgow Cup game with them and the crowd wasn't up to much at all. Not sure what the venue of the match has to do with it not being advertised. Up to folk if they want to travel and if it's a closed door game then just say so.

Sure you would volunteer Mick. Can just see you in a hi vis jacket.

Every single club on the planet has had behind the scenes problems because of Covid. Every single club in the world doesn’t give their players the level of treatment we do. They are getting more than they are giving and nobody will change my mind on that.

I wasn't talking about COVID but the situation with manager/stadium etc. That is the real issue here.

Having a go at players for not trying is not only missing the point but completely wrong.

The reaction wasn’t just about yesterday. At what point does our level of performance become unacceptable? We have won four league games since August. We haven’t won away since October. The support has been more than patient and I can’t recall a single game this season where we haven’t chanted, sang and got behind the team. More support than they’ve arguably deserved as a group.

You're missing the point. The issue this season has been behind the scenes. The main reason why the team isn't performing is lack of direction and confidence - not lack of effort. To say a lot of the them aren't trying is out of order.

Perspective required - in all the 15 draws I would say in 11 or 12 of them we should have won. We are obviously missing a goalscorer but the team is still on top for most of the game. If the team wasn't trying we would be getting horsed in these games.
