  1. We finished that game today punting the ball up to a non-existent Connor Sammon. Cant argue with taking Dools off as he was having a poor game, but the series of tactical switches up front resulted in us looking increasingly less likely to score.
  2. I thought that McGinty had an excellent game yesterday, Ntambwe probably could have been booked for any of his first six fouls but seemed to up his pace and confidence as the game went on. I thought that he had an excellent debut considering that he had not had a lot of game time. I wonder if he realised that the massive round of applause when he went off was more for Banzo coming on?
  3. Tam McManus tweeted that a loan deal for Tam Scobie may be in the offing.
  4. Jai Quitongo signs, https://ptfc.co.uk/ptfc-news/signing-news-jai-quitongo-is-a-jag/
  5. The situation with Tam highlights that the Board will have to act quickly if we are to salvage anything from this season. We cannot expect to achieve a play off place with the strength of the current squad. Time is extremely limited until the transfer window closes. The Club must act decisively before the first of September.
  6. I agree, if he is still at Firhill at the end of the week he has to be considered as part of the squad until at least January. If bonus money has to be paid then so be it. The alternative of agreeing a severance of contract I would imagine to be a much more expensive option. It could be argued that it unfair that other players took a cut in wages to play this season, but every player has to make decisions that affect their career at some point. However, the most contentious issue is whether he would be good enough to provide the level of defensive cover required. I would be happy to have the Keown of two seasons back but not last years one.
  7. The troubling thing also is that we now add O'Ware to the injured list. With Gordon and McCarthy out we are woefully short of potential starters. There is a slim hope that Banzo may come through the reserve game tomorrow unscathed but there is no guarantee that he can be relied on as a first team regular anytime soon. The Keown situation needs to be settled one way or another and we really need to have the core of a first team squad in place by the weekend. I know that we can pick up free agents after the window closes but it is far from ideal if we want a settled squad.
  8. Lets just wait to see how the situation plays out. The Club were condemned for not signing anyone, signing guys fans from other clubs said were crap, not being ambitious and signing players we had never heard of. They have been criticised for not releasing information and then for not revealing every detail. They have shown a degree of ambition in trying to pull this off. None of us know this will pan out, if it is successful we could have one of our biggest signings in years. If not we will be in exactly the same position as we were last week.
  9. I always wondered if the Club read WAT and P&B. Now we know.
  10. Yes, we need a long term injured player to provide cover for interviews in case Banzo gets fit and is able to play. It is a required part of the match preview that Archie tells us that someone will be back in around six weeks.
  11. Thanks for bringing a bit of clarity on this. I hope that your interpretation proves to be accurate.
  12. Are you implying that there is a cartel of SPFL clubs working together to determine which players are available to play in Scotland? Or do you also have inside knowledge of the Kilmarnock, Hibs, Aberdeen and Hearts boardroom discussions?
  13. Anyone else hear on Radio Scotland this morning that Police Scotland are going to introduce sniffer dogs to stop flares and pyrotechnics being taken into football matches involving the OF? Interesting concept.
  14. I would have thought that if the Weirs had invested in the playing staff if would have geared towards youth rather than emulating McGregor. I would find it highly unlikely that they would fund a promotion bid by funding the Coulibaly deal. I am happy that the Weirs seem to be playing the longer game in the development of the club rather than relying on one or two individuals to fund the first team. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44304566 Surprised about the meltdown that one or two of the Killie fans seem to be having over this given their impending league domination outlined by Billy Bowie. Tankers!
  15. Yes that is the rumour, but the away tie to East Fife should just about cover it.
  16. I would assume that a couple of the ones with knocks would find their way on to the bench.
  17. Looks like a light squad tonight; Bell groin tweak. Spittal, Erskine, Storey and Gordon all doubtful after picking up knocks on Saturday. McCarthy probably out as he picked up an ankle injury in training.
  18. From the Pollock website it seems that he is signed with them for this season. How do transfers go from the juniors? I assume that we would have to pay some cash? "Senegalese defender/midfielder Mohamed, more commonly known as ‘Sena’, regarded as a potential sweeper as he develops, was briefly on the books of Rangers after leaving the Jimmy Johnstone Soccer Academy and initially joined Lok on a dual contract basis from the Pollok United Soccer Academy, and after a few months away from the club, he returned as a Pollok player in January 2018. It was announced in April 2018 that Sena had signed up again for the 2018-19 season."
  19. Last night highlighted the lack of depth in the squad. We were fairly comfortable for most of the game against an "industrious" Albion Rovers side. The squad has to have some additions soon as we seem to be playing a number of players out of their natural positions. Storers injury is a bit of a worry.
