  1. 'This is sound corporate governance'. From someone at Queen's Park Football Club.
  2. That picture of the 'Directors' Box' and the caption 'Construction work on Lesser Hampden has been inexplicably slow'.
  3. Another article on Queen's in The Guardian: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/may/05/queens-park-close-to-scottish-top-flight-return-but-there-is-sting-to-this-fairytale Everyone wants a piece.
  4. It's hard to tell where the nerves end and the excitement begins (and not just because I never did Biology at school). I think the reason I am so nervous is because I'm so excited, but it's hard to see how the game itself is going to be anything other than unbearable.
  5. Message for Queen’s Park and Dundee fans Please come along and enjoy the game and get behind your team. Please also act within the Stadium Rules and do not encroach on the pitch at any time.
  6. It has to be Shields through the middle. Hasn't scored for 10 weeks, but he's our only realistic option. And I'd agree that if we need a goal going into the latter stages of the game, chucking Eze up front and causing a bit of chaos sounds pretty appealling.
  7. There's no way I'd be starting Fox either. I'd start Bannon and Kilday, but given that it was Eze that came on for Fox at Cappielow, I think we can assume it'll be Eze tonight if he doesn't go with Fox.
  8. That's a fair point. I feel we could play Morton another hundred times without beating you.
  9. About whether or not opposition fans like us? No. Why would I?
  10. Still stunned how many opposition fans watch our manager's post-match interviews. The day I use up actual minutes of the only life I'll ever get to live to listen to what Dougie Imrie or Paul Hartley or whoever has to say, you'll know I've given up.
  11. Where did you get your budget figures from? Not disputing them, would be interested to see them myself.
  12. A hugely inconsistent player, but I'd certainly rather have Quitongo in our squad than McPake. Far more streetwise, far more of a nuisance to defend against.
  13. Don't think Williamson has shown nearly enough to warrant a start in such an important game. As poor as he's been, Shields is our only option up front. If it was up to me, I'd probably bring Davidson in and play three in the midfield with Savoury and Thomas either side of Shields through the middle. But there's an argument for starting Jarrett as well. If Kilday's fit, I'd start him alongside Bannon, but I worry we'll have to make do with Bannon and Fox.
  14. With the size of the stadium we're building your allocation would have been about six and a half.
  15. Whereas you're racking up the coolness points spending your time on the forum for a league your team doesn't play in, and frothing at the mouth about an issue that is of no relevance to you whatsoever.
  16. On a selfish level this is what I'd like to have seen, but it would have meant that any Queen's fans who aren't able to stand for 90 minutes would have had to sit in the stand with the Dundee support.
  17. Dundee were acting in the interests of their supporters by trying to get a bigger allocation, and Queen's were acting in the interests of our supporters in trying to make as many tickets available to them. What I can't understand is why the league had to step in and rule in Dundee's favour. It's not as though this would have been the first time that a team had cut the opposition's allocation for a game in the hope that it might give their team an advantage, irrespective of the impact on gate receipts.
  18. It was obviously tongue in cheek, but I would be very disappointed if the club gave Dundee any more than half of the terrace behind the goal.
  19. The club should be waiting until after Saturday's game to make a decision on tickets. If we're still in with a shout of winning the league I'd let Dundee have 50 at the absolute most. And if that means their fans missing out on seeing their team win the Championship then it's hardly a big deal: they'll get another chance in a couple of years.
  20. Last night was a really poor performance and a disappointing result, but it pisses me off how quick so many fans are to leave the game at the final whistle, without waiting to acknowledge the team in any way. You'd think we were seventh in League Two as opposed to top of the Championship with a four-point lead.
  21. Just pulled together the stats, and it's pretty ordinary. We've played seven games on a Friday night in the league this season, five of them 'at home'. Of those seven, we've won two (4-1 away to Arbroath just before Christmas, and 2-0 at home to Ayr at the start of February), lost two (3-2 at home to Ayr back in August and 2-0 away to Cove at the start of November) and drawn three. 9 points out of a possible 21 or 1.3 points a game. Contrast that to our record on a Saturday, where we've had two draws, four defeats and 11 wins out of 17 games, 35 points out of a possible 51 or 2 points a game. We're actually unbeaten at home on a Saturday, with six wins and a draw (including the game against Hamilton at Hampden), compared to one win, one defeat and three draws playing at home on a Friday night.
  22. Beautiful ground, been there a few times to watch the cricket. Would be a real shame to see it go for a training ground to be built.
  23. It was a joke mate. I'll remember to add an explanatory footnote for the hard of thinking next time.
