Bo'ness United 2018/19

All credit to Crossgates they defended well especially their No4. They didn't carry a goal threat I think probably a couple of chances. For us, Hunter had a chance to emulate Campbell with 4 clear cut chances and we were over elaborate and their defence was well organised. Their keeper had two top class saves - just doing his job. Oh! forgot to mention the referee it was of course Duncan Smith ably assisted by two young ladies. He as usual lived up to his reputation of being the worst referee in the East if not the North, South and West as well. Extra time saw us through with a Keasty special. However, on the downside the injuries to Morgan and Wright took a bit of the gloss of the victory. -

Absolutely nothing against Kegs just felt that his decisions against Jeanfield in the second half were an act of desperation. Have you been to all or any of our games this season? Who or what the feck is Barrystown ? An Irish racecourse perhaps or figment of your imagination. -

Well as supporters we have moaned about who we have recruited this season. Last nights starting 11 contained one new player - Morgan - plus the return of Donnelly. Main criticism was no strikers signed - still need one - fitness level looked poor. Well, since the first game overall performance has improved as showed last night the players kept it going to the end plus we looked better organised. Why? Possibly assistant coach Hogg IMO. -

Strange but true with Morgan being the only new signing playing with "Dougie" making a belated return after injury. Why? -

A good bit more than that. I thought I was accurate on Saturday if I was then there was at least 300 tonight. -

He'll have to take a pay cut if he joins them. We met them head on the and they weren't up to it. As you said Dougie was a lucky man but they were culpable of a lot of late tackles which largely went unpunished. Our free-kick and corner repertoire is a big improvement on our robotic tactics over the last couple of seasons with Morgans deliveries being excellent. -

Just wanted to give you something to bleat about other than the Ref Well just so's your not disappointed. Peter Stuart and Alan Hogg both have the inability to manage games. They used the advantage rule well but failed to book players for serious intent after play breaks down. So far we haven't had the clown Prince of Referees Duncan Smith. -

The board is in a good position and we know our fixtures well in advance so where’s the problem. Surely someone within the Club can take the responsibility for updating match information. Treasure chest and people through the gate are currently - yes we have sponsors - our regular source of income. -

As you saw Aldin has signed but Kelly wants the opportunity to play in league 1or2. Heard Stenhousemuir were showing interest. -

Yes I agree but it might not be as simple as that. Marc will probably want to keep his options open considering he was only freed on Friday. As far as Aldin is concerned he has ability but his lack of pace is a worry. Heard that Gray is likely to be out for another few weeks, so he'll need another pre-season. Do the team practice free-kick moves in training? If not it's time they did as they are so predictable. -

Looked to be hobbling around on Wednesday so would doubt it. -

How the team was set up was a big improvement. Josh McDonald - excellent match - in front of the back four gave a bit more scope to the midfield in particular Morgan who showed why he was well thought of at Sauchie. Still looked like fitness levels need to be upped as we looked a bit stretched in the last 15 minutes. Overall a big improvement from last Saturday. However, as they say one swallow doesn’t make a summer. -

Not in the sacking for sackings sake camp and especially with only one competitive game played. However, not happy with the failure to address the areas where we need players. -

Nope. Our season finished early so you would expect some player movement. Josh McDonald is a centre-half and can play midfield. As you say we got a left-back one was needed, also another keeper - not urgent - anyway we got one. Our one pacy midfielder - Callum Scott - decided to have time out of the game - though is still under contract. Maybe he'll be back. The return of Zander Miller isn't going to happen. So where/who are the strikers we so badly need? -

Pre season results might have flattered us 2 victories over teams we would expect to beat a fortunate draw against Auchinleck and a 1-0 loss to Pollok. 4 players brought in, and the return of Chris Donnelly who missed 75% of last season due to injury but we have not solved the striker problem. Manager seems reliant on bringing in players from the West. Quite impressed with Josh McDonald from what I’ve seen. Still got Gray, Campbell and Prentice to return. Not strikers though. -

We have an squad of 17 of which 8 are in age bracket 30+ 3 in the back four, 4 in the midfield ( where yesterday we were exposed through lack of pace). We have over the seasons let young players with potential go to other clubs and be successfull and again another one slips through the net - Ryan Bachelor (left-back) signed by Camelon last week - by not offering a contract. I'm not sure if Rintoul has signed or not but don't lose another one. -

Like jigsaw pieces from a lot of different boxes, nothing fitted. We lacked passion, pace and a fecking plan. Jeanfield's front three ran our back four ragged they closed us down quickly and we didn't have the ability to even find our own players when we did have the ball. Moving Hunter up front was an act of desperation by a Manager devoid of ideas. Why was Rintoul not brought on instead of shuffling the pack? A team with plenty of experience but no plan.
