  1. Yeah. Realistically all of them should leave and we start again. Brophy is a good start, hopefully a couple other 'better than what we had' this season strikers to come in this summer.
  2. Under soil heating isn’t required. Adequate protection is. Assume Kilmarnock used their covers overnight but it was -7 at times. So, not much else they can do. Heating a plastic pitch would obviously ruin it.
  3. Tedious it may be but 100% valid. Utterly pointless having a pitch that you cannot prevent freezing in this country. Why wasn't it covered if they know it freezes, simple solution. Managed to cover miles of track 10 miles down the road at Ayr racecourse. It's utterly pathetic. Amateurish Scottisg football at it's finest. Theres plenty of grass parks which have had games postponed today. Are they also a disgrace? Sometimes you can’t help the weather. Also, The Ayr meeting has been abandoned due to a frozen course.....
  4. Of course we’ve got room for another striker. Just because we have an array of shite ones doesn’t mean we can’t add a decent one in January if available.
  5. My ST is in W6 and I’ve no interest in it changing to a safe standing area.
  6. He’s never kicked a football for St.Mirren and likely never will.
  7. I used to really like MacIntyre and it would genuinely please me when I saw he was the host of the latest podcast(s) over David Currie or Geoff Webster because I knew it would be a decent, well balanced show but nowadays I find him impossible to listen to and very much in the Adrian Durham (Talksport) mould. Who nobody should ever try to emulate. I've stopped listening to the podcasts as of last week because it's just MacIntyre baiting the guests into saying something headline worthy rather than a general discussion which is what it used to be.
  8. Kenny Macintyre. The answer is ALWAYS Kenny Macintyre
  9. Same here, mate. Got everything in place other than kit packs and a decent skin. Bit of a pisser but will deal with it untill something is released.
  10. Fulham weren't an English Premier League club back then. In fact, Fulham were promoted to the EPL for the first time in 2000-01 - When Chris was playing for Alloa.
  11. No, I didn’t. However, you can’t label us good & competitive if we can barely get the ball on target. Our problem is that we’re aren’t good nor competitive. That’s why we’re near the foot of the table.
  12. We had one shot on target against Aberdeen & zero against United. That is not anything like good, competitive football.
  13. Also, as a side note; Has Connolly done something wrong? Our most energetic and dynamic threat in the whole squad and he cant ever seem to get a start. If it's fitness then I sort of understand but i'd much rather start him and take him off - Like McAllister - than throw him on to chase a game.
  14. Jim Goodwin is not a good manager, It's apparent back the lack of results & the absence of any form of style of play. Long, aimless punts up the park hoping something will happen is proof of that. He appears to be unable to form an XI that have any type of attacking threat what so ever, despite having been given the funds to strengthen the squad however he wanted for this season. He's recruited Obika & Morias last season, Dennis & Erwin for this season - All four are strikers who just cannot score goals on a regular basis and when off their game are worse than a man short. Yes, Obika scored last night but that was his first in god knows how long. I appreciate there are folk out there that are always positive about the management and St.Mirren in general but even they have got to see that this is just not good enough and we need change. My worry is that Hamilton pull the trigger on Rice soon and if they employ a manager with any decent ability, we could be looking at being rooted to the bottom of the table before the start of next year due to Accies being able to score goals. If their new manager sorts out that defence then I can see them getting important results. Gordon Scott and/or The Kibble need to have a serious think about our next step because we are in the mire without a doubt.
  15. Ali De Foy is fucking horrendous at presenting. Fair play to her, Saints fan and all but this isn’t her gig.
  16. Surely, of all the things SMISA members are asked to vote on, the naming of our stadium is one of them? Can't really understand why the stadium naming has been taken out of our hands and pretty confident that a tiny percentage would've actually voted for the 'SMISA stadium' option.
  17. We have two CH's that can contain and deal with Shankland effectively. Clark's goal return isn't the only reason why i'd man mark him. He is far more mobile and effective from deeper areas than Shankland is. He makes key passes in key areas and I think if we nullify him, we've got a chance.
  18. My formation, in my opinion, gives us the best chance of a result against United - Particularly playing of the front four and having them play further in the pitch. Unfortunately though, i don't believe we'll play this way and Goodwin will try to shitfest his way to a draw or a contained 1-0 win on the counter and we'll come undone. Hoping for what i want to see and a decent win against a side that we should be better than.
  19. I think it will be a really good game tonight and as we're struggling with lack of fitness and game time and generally pish defensively., i can see a decent number of goals being scored in the match - Probably more for United than Saints I'd like to see us play the below formation and XI tonight - depending on current fitness obviously - but i think this could be our best chance of winning and a good, attacking set up with Durmus and Connolly playing inside slightly to allow Mason and Tait to play as proper wingbacks and get forward. I'd even allow the front three behind Dennis to interchange throughout the match - All have ability to cause United problems, especially if we can isolate Mark Reynolds and get at him. It allows us to employ a relatively decent defensive shape when we don't have the ball and sets us up for an explosive counter when we recover the ball. I can see Nicky Clark causing us problems and would task Foley with a man marking job on him when we're defending. We cannot allow him time & space. Prediction: 2-3 United
  20. Poor full back. Can’t really defend and hit and miss going forward. Maybe League 1 is his level.
  21. Two top guys who are Saints men through and through and I wish them well but feel like this is the equivalent of putting a plaster on a gaping wound. Too little, too late.
  22. He's from Coatbridge. Of course he's going to be a celtic fan
  23. Dennis is a centre forward and has been brought in to score goals. The idea of Dennis and McGrath linking up is something that excites me. I think this can be our attacking option that produces goals this season. Obika and Erwin simply not good enough - I guess we don't know if Dennis is either but he's worth a sustained shot upfront once he's fit and he's impressed when i've seen him. He looks lively enough and can hold the ball up - Something the other two cannot. Connolly should be starting every week for me. He's our best attacking winger (i've even thought he'd be a decent option upfront on his own as long as we play the ball on the deck) having him and McGrath float between both positions is something i hope we do.
  24. Not sure I'd play Dennis as a #10 tbh. I'd play him upfront with McGrath in behind and drop Obika completely. The big man has been horrendous this season. Goodwin needs 4 points minimum out the next two games before going into the Morton game as far as I'm concerned, . If that is not achieved and the Ton give us a run for our money then he's out on his arse. Our Chief Exec declared us a top 6 (top 4 too at one point!) side in the summer and yet we're sitting near the foot of the table after the first 1/4. Sackable form Score prediction - 1-2.
