  1. The juniors will slot in at tier 6 so tj is telling no porkies on that one.

He never stated what juniors or all juniors

    Neither have the sfa

it will be tier 6 and below in the West and north, but tier 8 and below in the east.

You also can't fit all juniors in to tier 6 anyway.

Has to be more than 1 tier

  2. Yes the highland league are not technically dodging the pyramid. It is just there is nothing in place below them currently.

What I am unsure about is if they can enforce their own tougher entry rules when the leagues below them are formed, such as floodlights, when the lowland league is not so strict.

Then again those tough rules may actually suit "certain nameless clubs"

  3. Kelty were as a top junior team always odds on to win the Easy of Scotland League where apart from LTHV the standard is very poor. I cannot recall an East of Scotland team having success against a junior team in The William Hill Scottish Cup, usually the outcome is a emphatic win for the junior team.

  4. My take on the game. Lothian were well organised and had a fantastic keeper and right back. Their overall strength was at the back so I can see how they have nicked all those games against kelty.

They lacked any potent threat up front and apart from the pen when the defender fell on his arse, rarely tested the kelty goal.

Kelty were a really good unit with some real flashes of class. The talking and communication throughout the team is second to none.

The park plays as good as any perfect grass pitch in my opinion.

Only criticism of the facilities is it really needs better parking. All that grass just outside the park and presumably can't be used. Opening a second turnstile earlier would have been usefully as well. Otherwise a great day in the sun.

  5. 22 hours ago, juniorsforme said:

I have never at anytime at any meeting said what you have printed. I can also state I have never been asked by TJ or anyone to snoop around for information on you or anyone else on this forum. As for ID's I have posted using one other ID but not used it for over 3 years, you Mr McGinty have brought names into this not me.

As for my speech you had the same opportunity to  speak.....unfortunately you were hiding behind a keyboard as per normal. Please bring on your story I look forward to it

It is actually less than 3 years since you stopped posting as Locheeboy

If myself and my 9 year old son are unwelcome at Thomson park then that's your privilege

  6. Jason, I have never said the Juniors were perfect in fact there are a number of things I would love to see changed but I am old enough and wise enough to  know leaving for the EoS is not going to see our club showered with cash from the SFA.  Fixtures for the season is one thing I would give you but there is nothing else attractive in a move to the EoS. Maybe people like me are missing something but time will tell.

The problem I have is you denounce the eos when geography says you could not even apply to it.

I will continue to furnish your clubs coffers when I attend as a non league fan.

The product and catering I might add being second to none.

Only poor attitudes have allowed the eos to recover from the pub league it had almost slumped too, but to take the lead on the east juniors.

  7. The EoS may operate with two Divisions of 14 clubs, both at Tier 6 for ONE SEASON only. Thereafter the top 7 from each would form the Premier (tier 6) from 2019/20, and the bottom 7 will form Division One (tier 7). This would be consistent with the EoS's earlier views about having a level playing field for clubs in  2018/19.  If so, there would be a play-off between the 2 Divisional winners to decide which is the champion club.  If correct as a temporary arrangement, it would be a fair and competitive to all the EoS clubs.
NB : this is not an official EoS position, as consultation with both existing & new clubs will take place, although it may have been discussed at yesterday's EGM ?

Excellently planned. I assume 16 and 16 would be the preferred long term ?
  8. So I think I will venture down to yahoorsur land for the 1st time since they exited the Joonyers.

McBookie have Kelty as 5/6 to win the match, which with their terrible margins on Non League actually means they have Lothian as favourites to take the point or win that will give them the title.

It is close enough still for them to call it a toss of a coin.

Anyway Kelty who average over 6 per league game have to do what they have failed in 360 of minutes against Lothian, and score a goal.

Lothian have 5 league clean sheets in a row since their remarkable 5-5 draw with Leith

I am looking forward to my 1st venture into EOS territory.

I think Kelty will finally break the hoodoo.

  9. As you can see Hibee quite a few clubs as Ginaro mentions. Also Newburgh.

In Perthshire Kinnoull, Jeanfield and Scone.

I was not trying to score points.  Just had noticed the EOS will not actually have to extend it's geographical border of clubs with the new intake.

See my post in the Juniors of what may be left

  10. If as Tom Johnston says (A big If) that Juniors all become part of the Pyramid at Tier 6

Should not be a great problem in West or in North.

Let's take a look at the East where that would mean them running alongside the EOS league/s

Base this on clubs currently leaving for EOS or being moved into the North of Scotland (Tay is the SFA line).

Using current league tables there are only 18 teams of the current 32 in the Superleague/Premier League left.

So Tier 6 East (Junior) Superleague is

    Linlithgow, Penicuik, Broxburn, Dundonald,Sauchie, Boness,Newtongrange,Jeanfield,Kennoway,Tayport,Fauldhouse,Dunbar,St Andrews,Thornton,Arniston,Glenrothes.

Tier 7 East (Junior) Premier is left with

    Bathgate, Whitburn, Pumpherston,Armadale,West Calder,Oakley,Craigroyston,Lochgelly,Rosyth,Harthill,Livingston,Stoneyburn,Kirkcaldy,Kinnoull,Scone,Lochore,Newburgh

Now in the EOS they have played a season to balance the teams (This is all theory and based on no one gaining promotion this year or end of next year to LL) and my "assumption" of the relative strength of teams.

    So Tier 6 EOS

Kelty Hearts, Lothian Thistle, Leith Athletic, Preston, Herriot Watt, Tynecastle,Bonnyrigg Rose, Camelon, Hill o Beath, Musselburgh, Haddington, Blackburn, Tranent,Dalkeith, Edinburgh, Crossgates

Clearly 1 or 2 of the crack EOS teams will probably be promoted this or next year but it does at least give a potential idea of where Tom Johnston sees things going.

Frankly on paper appears to absolutely crazy to have 2 leagues in 1 area in a pyramid, but I suppose a bit more balanced than the juniors being tier 8 & 9 in the East which is the other scenario below the 2 EOS leagues

At least the "haters" Larry Duncan (Lochee Utd) & Mark Johnston (Carnoustie) will fit in at tier 6 North but with the HL requirements (Tougher than the LL) will never gain promotion.

Imagine Carnoustie being asked to improve their facilities !!!!

  11. New entrants accepted for 2018/19:
    Blackburn Utd
    Bonnyrigg Rose
    Camelon
    Crossgates
    Dalkeith
    Dunipace
    Easthouses
    Edinburgh Utd
    Haddington
    Hill of Beath
    Hillfield Swifts
    Musselburgh
    Tranent
Teams have 7 days to confirm acceptance and to pay fees. League not making any statements until all clubs have confirmed and paid.

Without trying to stir the pot of the pros and cons etc.
It does appear fair to state the fact that geography has been pretty key in the applications made.
No east region team from north of cowdenbeath.
  12. No. It allowed teams to apply to join and then be admitted to a new league, you cant "vault" something that isn't there - you are proposing something totally different, clearly you cant see this but that's fair enough. Bonnyrigg, Blackburn and the rest aren't vaulting up the pyramid, they are applying to join the apposite league and will go on from there. And that journey may be up and it may be down but as I say if you are a supporter of a club that thinks TJ can implement Level 5 for the Juniors as I said previously you are being dangerously naïve.
The new and improved West structure from next season will allow ALL West clubs to easily integrate into the pyramid at levels 6,7,8,9 and from there the best can rise up to their appropriate level and the "mediocre" as you (both of your accounts) like to call them can also find their level in what will essentially be the same structure as now but thankfully without the awful Junior "grade" tag.
From there I'd like to see the local Amateur leagues combine and put forward Level 10 (and beyond if required) so that ALL teams in the West can become pyramid members - but again I wouldn't expect the best of the Amateur teams to vault into Level 5 just because some internet warrior persiflage thinks they are "better" than the likes of Beith or Rutherglen.

To be fair to the amateurs. No rulebook or pyramid or anything that I know of says that they are ranked below the juniors. If the safa decided to join the pyramid in advance of the juniors imagine the stroke isa would have.
  13. The surface is I think pretty good on the whole. The changing rooms are excellent (and even if superbigal is right to get misty eyed about the old pitch, I’m sure he won’t remember the old changing rooms so fondly!) The new ground was built by the old chairman, builder DJ Laing who has indeed starting building on the old park, but I think this land was owned by the council, so the new one was built for the council, not the club. Laing (I believe) proposed putting in a covered section at the new ground, but the council refused to stump up for it.

I think ownership of the pitch (and the newly resurfaced Astro training area behind the changing rooms) and maybe even the grassy area across the road have recently been transferred to the community club and it’s affiliated youth and women’s teams etc.

At least in the old changing rooms you were protected from any bombs dropped by Jerry [emoji38]

I think the council was run by the so no protection group.

  14. Carnoustie new ground was built specifically for them by a house builder who I assume wanted their old land for housing.

What they got in my opinion was certainly not as good as others who have been down that road.

For a builder to give them a pitch with such crap drainage in itself was a sin. Carnousties old surface was a belter in my playing days.

  15. Last time I was at Carnoustie I got completely soaked no cover at all rather spend their cash on players but they come out with that shite ffs

I'm slightly surprised because I thought Mark was pro pyramid when he represented St Andrews.

The complete lack of clarification regarding the Tayside clubs way forward in any pyramid must surely be more upsetting.
