I believe that funding to clubs was drastically reduced for development when the SPL and SFL became the SPFL. The figure of us losing out to the tune of £50k was bandied around at the time as I recall. Can't see why the 4 Angus clubs don't play a mini reserve league amongst themselves with matches played as and when the club's decide. Costs would be minimal as not much travelling between the 4 towns.

Both ourselves and Everton were formed in 1878 and I believe played a friendly at Gayfield in 1902 against them. It was played as 2 halves of 35 mins and resulted in a 3-1 home win. Would be a real coup for us to host them now given the gulf between the club's but would love to see it happen.

That's really what we fans are asking. Why do we consistently lose players to our "smaller" Angus neighbours and especially Forfar. But where do we get an answer from?

If it's down purely to attendances we are consistently the best supported of all the Angus clubs. There are other factors in the equation which gives Forfar and Brechin much more financial clout than us and the Mo. They seen to be able to out spend their money's brought in through the gates. Forfar make a lot from hiring out their pitch but where do Brechin get theirs from is a mystery. Rich benefactors seem the only other avenue.

Instead of gloating at us losing players to the fermers you should be looking at your own team or lack of one just now. You should also be grateful that your side last season was WAAAASH or Emmerdale would have been raiding you as well.

Callon has posted on the Mad site that the transfer window doesnt open until 2nd week in June and the official site will be updated when players are officially signed. How is it we can sign Hay from Formartine and Fleming from EF and announce it but not the others mentioned ?

Which is exactly why I posted asking who has been confirmed as signed. There are many names being bandied around as signing/signed but nothing on the official or even the Arbroath Mad site which the board monitor. Surely not too much to ask for Gary Callon who posts regularly or any other board member to put up a post confirming signings. It's in the club's best interest to keep the supporters informed imo by whatever means .

I am a shareholder and I believe you need to be a shareholder , be proposed and seconded by other shareholders then have your name put forward at the AGM which will then be put to a vote of members against the existing member(s) who is/are seeking re-election. Since the inception of the new company I cannot recall any challenge to the existing members at all. The board can co-opt person or persons as the previous poster alluded to above.
