It seems Des Buckingham has entered the running. He’s the current manager of Mumbai City which of course is part of the City Group. He was pictured at Glasgow airport earlier and the suggestion is he is also being considered.

    Ffs, Where’s that Obama gif?

The 2022 Durand Cup runners up manager is prob over for a game of golf and he’s found himself 4th favourite for the Celtic managers job.

  2. John Kennedy has told Celtic that he wants to leave to join Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham Hotspur.

Postecoglou turned down the offer of a contract extension in Glasgow before moving to north London.

Signing a four-year deal with the English Premier League side, the 57-year-old Australian has now asked his trusted Parkhead assistant Kennedy to move south with him.

Reluctant to lose another key member of the management team which sealed a domestic Treble, Celtic are digging in their heels.

Scotland’s champions have confirmed that the search for a new boss is now under way. Wary of finding himself out of a job if Postecoglou’s replacement brings in his own backroom team, Kennedy has asked Celtic to let him go and sign his own four-year contract with Spurs.

Celtic are drawing up a list of candidates for the manager’s position, with a club statement vowing to prioritise the right appointment instead of making a quick one.

Sources close to Manchester City assistant manager Enzo Maresca say he will blank any conversation over a move to Glasgow until Saturday’s Champions League final is done and dusted.

Also coming under consideration are Chelsea and Brighton boss Graham Potter, Jesse Marsch and Bodo/Glimt’s Kjetil Knutsen.

Former Celtic striker Alan McInally has also urged the Parkhead club to ask a question of West Ham boss David Moyes if he leaves the club after Wednesday night’s Europa Conference League final, branding the move a ‘no brainer’.

Rayo Vallecano’s highly-rated Spanish coach Andoni Iraola will also throw his hat into the ring after rejecting a new contract.

What's there to know about Scottish football ? Only one of two clubs can ever win the league. One of those two went bust a few years ago, thus being a semi - competent manager of the other club virtually guarantees you win the title. Let's not kid anyone on that the top flight of Scottish football is anymore mysterious or difficult to fathom than that.

It’s easy to see who wins but it’s the style of football and the players up here that they know nothing about. How many players have came up here thinking it’s a walk in the park and found it a lot tougher.

it’s much the same for the majority of leagues in Europe. Only a small percentage have a chance of winning.

Don’t ever remember him saying he wouldn’t leave the club? From the first link to an EPL job to this one he’s only ever said he wants to concentrate on what he’s doing now rather than talk about his future.

You realise as well he is able to understand the fans as well as have different professional ambitions?

Must be shite supporting a team where all you have to be happy about at the end of the season is the manager who helped make sure you have a chance at European football possible leaving 😂

He said at the broony/Lustig night a couple of weeks ago that he was here as long as we wanted him.

Sorry would you prefer us all to fawn over Celtic and their fantastic achievement of yet another treble instead?

I’d like to apologise for any offence I caused ICT fans, I was referring to the hearts, Aberdeen, Falkirk, etc etc fans, who are spouting their usual pish we get on every match thread. Some of the comments from grown adults are embarrassing.

There wasn't, I think I am more getting at the portrayal of those statements as a wider general opinion of him being incorrect.

As has already been pointed out, he was a relatively unknown at the time he was appointed and both Celtic fans and non-Celtic fans alike expressed doubts about it. Some clearly went further than others in doing so.

What about the ones claiming they were ‘vindicated’, where are they??

Well, in it's simplest form, I'd say my point is it seems futile for Celtic fans to point score by making a general observation that fans of other clubs were wrong to be critical of Ange's appointment when a general observation can also be made that a large portion of Celtic fans shared the same feelings (albeit they would be hopeful of Ange's success).

It’s the “but now we are vindicated” comment. Not seen anyone claim that, no one had heard of him.

Can’t really complain if AP wants a crack at the English prem, it’s probably the only chance he’ll get in his career.
Obviously I’d love it if he stays, I think Ange has done well to keep all this under his hat for now with silverware still to play for. You never know.. Wolf of Wall Street gifs at the ready after the cup final 🤞🏻

Unfortunately that’s our place in the food chain, anyone without links to Celtic joins us cause they have ambitions to play/manage in the EPL. And with our track record we’re an attractive option, one of the best outside the top 5 leagues. Plus being domestically dominant, 60,000 fans and guaranteed CL football I’m sure we’ll be able to attract a decent replacement, unless Peter has something to say about it.
