  1. Guess you can get away with that sort of waistline if you can still get the job done like that. Agree on it being deflected in a big way.
  2. Looking like midtable material on that performance so far, but hopefully it will be a different story in the second half.
  3. I'm watching Bo'ness United vs Cumbernauld Colts by webstream right now. It shouldn't be mission impossible in this day and age for clubs with a significant fanbase to do something like that and try to use donations generated from that to do a bit of fundraising.
  4. Part of a wider herd immunity by stealth strategy on the insufficient from a prevention angle part, and all about seeing how the electorate reacts and adjusting accordingly on the hanging them out there part.
  5. Disgusting that you would stoop to that. Why don't you give the constant irrational scaremongering a rest now for a bit. The season is going to proceed whether you like it or not. Rationality has prevailed.
  6. Was Jason Leitch not saying only a few days back that he wants crowds back for smaller clubs and thinks it will happen before the end of the season?
  7. ...or maybe it shows the virus is not as big a deal as we were originally led to believe it would be and is something we are just going to have to learn to live with, if it turns out to be more than a one and done sort of event (there's actually a very good chance it won't even without a vaccine)? Older people have been dying of respiratory viral infections in significant numbers every winter in Scotland for many centuries and there has been at least one flu pandemic in the past (in 1918) that has been significantly worse than COVID-19 in mortality rate terms.
  8. On the last bit, obviously yes. That's the whole point of having a Sunday 5 pm deadline. On the first bit, if you do that there is a penalty to sitting out. More likely premier and conferences stay and there is no relegation. Not so clear why some people think there can be no promotion.
  9. It's part of an agreement between the SFA, LL, WoS, EoS and SoS. The LL constitution is readily available online and tells us that.
  10. Question 1 Under the current restrictions, does your club wish to commence playing on 24th October? Yes, we want to start on Saturday 24th October – 36 No, we do not wish to start on Saturday 24th October – 31 Question 2 Irrelevant due to result of Question 1 (related to a continued pause of season) Question 3 If the result of the ballot on Question 1 is that we should commence playing on 24th October, does your club wish to withdraw from this season’s league competition? Yes, we wish to withdraw – 14 No, we will compete in the league – 53 The IMG will now request written confirmation from the 14 Clubs who indicated that they do not wish to participate in this season’s league competition. If we do not hear anything from them by 5PM on Sunday 11th October 2020 we will accept that they have withdrawn
  11. They've started but this isn't Mastermind so Magnus Magnusson won't be saying "...so you'll finish" where the season is concerned: My understanding is clubs will be able to drop out without penalty in December if fans are not back by then.
  12. Strangely according to Mao this no longer held in China after the CCP had gained power. I'm not that keen on lockdowns that are applied in a way that won't work and are just being used as window dressing to sway opinion poll numbers, but we'll get our chance to vote the culprits out soon enough.
  13. The politicians there are also willing to throw punches live on TV with no negative repercussions in career terms:
  14. Looks from twitter activity on the subject like the EoS and possibly also some WoS premier clubs (Kilwinning Rangers are prime suspects) successfully kicked up a fuss behind the scenes because LL linked sources were definitely pushing the idea that it would be tier 5 and up only. Looking at it in legal terms the decision is the sensible one because the definition of professional ultimately revolves around player registration status. All the competitions listed have the ability to sign players to the same professional registration form that Rangers and Celtic players use, so it would be very difficult to justify any other dividing line if a club or league took legal action over it.
  15. They are trying to save face with that. Somebody appears to have told teams they were OK to go when they weren't. This is a youth league with many teams only having a tenuous link to the senior club they are affiliated with in this context.
  16. It wasn't on the list of exempted competitions in the announcement by the SFA. It was never given the green light in the first place. If people couldn't get that straight, I'll wait for something official on pro-rel. https://www.scottishfa.co.uk/news/scottish-fa-statement-on-new-government-guidelines/?rid=13929&fbclid=IwAR1GLW90Jz3u8FN6c9jzU5gFW5D7Pgrry5kZCSDV-iclTVLDFm4tgDicGRA Please note, Scottish Government have advised of an exemption for professional sport. This covers teams who take part in the following competitions - Scottish Professional Football League, Highland League, Lowland League, SWF PL 1 & 2, West of Scotland Leagues, East of Scotland Leagues, South of Scotland League, North Caledonian League and SJFA Leagues. These competitions can continue in line with relevant guidance and protocols. This exemption also covers Scotland National Team fixtures at Men’s A, SWNT and Under-21 level.
  17. If people couldn't read the SFA announcement properly yesterday where the Lowland Development League was concerned, why should we assume they were able to get this straight? My guess is that they heard that there was no relegation to accomodate the possibility of clubs opting out then they added 2 and 2 and got five where there also being no promotion to the LL was concerned. Not as 100% confident on the conferences on that as expanding beyond 20 for the premiership next year could be an issue, but where there's a will there's probably a way.
  18. If you are talking about Lowland Development that doesn't contradict the original announcement because the players involved are mainly 18 and over and are not playing in one of the professional competitions listed as an exemption. Think people simply misinterpreted the initial press release.
  19. They actually haven't if you read the SFA press release. U-18 level still likely to be OK for the most part and over 18 still OK outside the central belt.
  20. ...You will be after this week's episode of Soap.
  21. Got hit the hardest in March/April so they are probably much closer to herd immunity. The "second wave" is really just a case of finishing off the first one where it got stalled by the lockdown.
  22. The way ahead should be determined by a rational appraisal of the scientific data rather than narrow minded political tribalism.
