  1. They can still reach a 16 club tier six in 2021-22 after one season in a conference format. Only difference is that they need to win the conference outright now rather than being in the top 4. Given who won't be in the tier 7 conferences the odds on doing that may not be so different.
  2. The SFA had no problem with the west superleague being the tier 6 feeder, so maybe no surprise that they have engineered something close to that sort of outcome once they gained some leverage over the process again. The SFA and LL/EoS were not on the same page during the PWG meetings, if you read the minutes that have been posted on here. The EoS and LL had to use the fact that any LL playoff rule changes needed their approval to be able to control most of what has happened over the last two years.
  3. Wonder if Livingston would have thought that the April 7th extension for the WoS would apply in the east as well and whether the entire West Lothian Question (sorry couldn't resist invoking Tam Dayell) would have been solved this year by allowing clubs to retain SJFA membership in the manner that's happening in the west.
  4. Clubs providing linesmen has been the norm at the lower levels of the junior game, so this is nothing new. Given the amount of abuse officials take there aren't enough people interested in doing it at the money that's on offer.
  5. Another option is two conferences of ten and interconference games like the EoS had this season at tier 7. That would mean 28 games.
  6. Or maybe given COVID19 they are not expecting to have any games in the early month of the season so it would be 19 games. 17 teams works better for that as everybody gets the same number of home and away games.
  7. Maybe the SFA president and CEO thought it would be OK but the full board reminded them about the 16 club thing when it came time to do what they thought would be the rubber stamping? Somebody definitely dropped the ball in a big way.
  8. Only know that the east region's posture was that they would move back to a 16 club superleague again if they got tier 6 entry to fit what the SFA were requiring. Lots of posts were made about that on here.
  9. True, but from we've been told they said that sort of format wasn't going to be allowed again in future and tier 6 feeders would have to be 16 club divisions and they could handle the discipline for four of them.
  10. Although there's lots of seethe in this thread about two clubs, the SFA are being fully consistent with what they said last year that the east region would have to do to be accepted by them at tier six (i.e. no north and south divisions only a 16 club division at tier 6). Good to see the common sense outcome of the clubs from the west superleague becoming the tier six feeder is the one that is happening but there should be pro/rel using ppg outcomes from this season to determine who gets in.
  11. Wick were an NCL team before they joined the HL. Was there really no Thurso team back then?
  12. With COVID19 on the go you can make a case for there being exceptional circumstances. If they can cope with divisions and conferences of 18 there is still space for 4 or 5 more teams depending on the BUs LL status that could be added without needing to change the structure.
  13. ...or maybe we can all try to learn to respect different perspectives? I suspect that a year or two down the road most people are going to wonder what all the fuss was about because going to a WoS game will be much the same experience as a west region one was, but time will tell. Will be interesting to see what happens with the conferences and how many clubs can use it to radically change their fortunes like Crossgates Primrose did in the east.
  14. Nothing positive I suspect having read Clyde threads on here quite a bit. North Lanarkshire Council dealing with Cumbernauld Colts as the primary tenant at Broadwood instead of them definitely did not appear to go down well.
  15. Once ex-junior WoS club comittees start to look carefully at who is actually left in the SJC at this point I suspect this will be the outlook of a surprisingly high number. It's doable in terms of the fixture list so arguments revolving around that are a red herring. Whether it is still sensible to be making long treks to play north region clubs in front of very small crowds when the SCC will be providing something significantly stronger in competitive terms is the issue that people should really be discussing on here.
  16. ...but don't dare suggest that there's a seriously bizarre and deeply tribal senior vs junior thing on the go on here.
  17. ...or the braindead senior vs junior thing is now so ingrained on here that people flail about desperately trying to find a way to pick a fight and start an argument when somebody they have mistakenly pigeonholed as being pro-junior posts an argument for why WoS clubs might opt to steer clear of the SJC at this point. Seriously bizarre stuff.
  18. https://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/veto
  19. And now a red dotting frenzy after I gave him a wee taste of his own medicine on that. Would hate to see what would happen if there was actually a genuine disagreement happening.
  20. First he says there is no permanent veto over anything then in the next paragraph he states the league, SCC and SC fixtures will definitely have priority which implies that the WoS can't unilaterally change that even after it has voted in its own office holders. No point trying to reason with him.
  21. In a club run league like the EoS, which the WoS is being structured to emulate, it will be up to the clubs to decide on most issues, but I think people are being very naive if they think the LL won't have nailed down a permanent veto over what the conditions are on the SJC in the same sort of way the EoS engineered a veto for themselves over the east region ever getting into the pyramid through how the playoff into the LL was structured. They are complete mugs, if they don't. The WoS is being launched by the LL and is not a continuation of the west region in any, way shape or form, but it won't be long until the WoS clubs can vote all the same old officeholders back in, if they so choose, which is what Cmontheloknow is being told will happen with Kennie Young and Gordon Roney will no doubt also be angling for.
  22. And the SJFA members are now voting on those changes. Everything else is just people being argumentative for the sake of it at this point.
  23. It hasn't been because WoS is still being run by George Fraser and the LL. What has been mentioned in some posts is that the LL/EoS fixture secretary (HibeeJibee) is likely to also handle the WoS. This makes sense so that the SCC can be coordinated easily.
  24. There were no "set of conditions" at all, all the LL said was that clubs were free to retain SJFA membership but that League (and now SCC) fixtures would always take priority. So perhaps people are picking you up on it as once again you're making stuff up. First he says there is no set of conditions then in the same sentence he proceeds to outline one of the conditions. No point trying to reason with him.
