  1. Think when you have the journalist from the local Kilmarnock paper writing that Hurlford have applied taken together with the tweet you mention that puts them into the confirmed category. Other two are nothing like as clear cut as that.
  2. Hurlford mentioned as having applied in this article: https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/ayrshire/coronavirus-scotland-manager-calls-season-21806002
  3. Also bear in mind that Wishaw felt they had been misrepresented in a story that was probably done by the same journalist.
  4. So given there are almost certainly some undeclared applicants (it's hard to believe that Hurlford and St Roch's won't apply, for example) and there are only 7 Ayrshire and 7 Central clubs left, it's difficult to see how a viable rump WRSJFA or old school Ayrshire and Central setup could emerge at this point.
  5. China has shown that the virus can be close to eliminated from a society by a concerted effort by humans and huge efforts are going into developing a vaccine. There are better days coming and we are not helpless in the face of it. It's reasonable to keep making plans for 2020-21 and doing so is probably good for people's mental well being.
  6. No way of knowing for sure but there comes a point where a pandemic virus starts to run out of new people to infect that haven't already had it and built up some immunity, so it's not going to last forever. The peak for western Europe is probably not that far off. This season is almost certainly a goner but next season is unlikely to be a complete wipeout. The conferences will give the WoS plenty of flexibility on how many games to attempt to play
  7. Obvious guess would be Syngenta given they applied last year, but not clear where they would be able to play. After that might as well throw a dart at a map of West Lothian. Will be interesting to see if there was any substance to Stenhousemuir Amateurs joining the east region to provide a fourth tribute act.
  8. I guess Hurlford are the main one to watch now. They have tweeted this:
  9. Check this thread. Their secretary confirmed it on here a couple of pages back.
  10. If there is a place waiting for the likes of Rosyth and Lochgelly in the EoS to join clubs like Ormiston and Tweedmouth, Perthshire have nothing to worry about in the WoS. Every club will find its level.
  11. The article made it clear they were putting an application in though. Some of the 20 that are left on Dev and Pyramadic's lists such as Cumnock, Rossvale and Girvan are absolute certs to put in applications, so there really isn't any basis for a stable WRSJFA to be left in the aftermath of this.
  12. Think it's better to have one person coordinating things between the LL and the three feeders given the complexity caused by trying to have season long league fixture lists while having multiple cup competitions that require fixed dates across all four leagues. It's not like the juniors has traditionally been where the SJC took priority and everything else could get shunted about region by region at short notice to try to keep most teams playing.
  13. Extra team gets relegated from the EoS premier to accomodate the relegated club from the LL and numbers stay fixed at 16.
  14. Much more upbeat story about Cambuslang Rangers where WoS entry is concerned: https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/local-sport/cambuslang-rangers-chairman-excited-west-21787765.amp?__twitter_impression=true
  15. In the EoS this season they had 30 or 34 league games scheduled along with SC/AJC, SCC, LC and FNC. HibeeJibee will be able to sort it all out.
  16. Think there are probably a few more that already did their announcement that they were going for WoS entry in a similar sort of way to that at the expression of interest stage. There was also a North Lanarkshire newspaper story at that stage with quotes from various clubs that might be worth revisiting, if anyone has the url. Wishaw for example, were said to be leaving the decision to their secretary.
  17. My understanding is that there would only be the SCC and a league cup in terms of cups for the WoS. In addition to that the EoS has the Alex Jack Cup on Scottish Cup dates and the Football Nations Qualifying Cup. Using those dates should provide more than enough leeway to squeeze in the SJC, if there are no replays.
  18. With clubs like them, Rossvale and Girvan it's possible that their WoS announcement already happened at the expression of interest stage.
  19. Who cares who did what as long as there is a sensible outcome? The main thing is to avoid the West Lothian scenario.
  20. The compromise over the junior cup ended any prospect of the larger clubs staying. What would be left would be clubs that are already almost moribund in terms of local interest and support. At least in the WoS there's hope they can be revitalised, so it's for the best that they are being encouraged to make the move.
  21. Any rump west region is likely to be little more than a glorified amateur league that would collapse in two or three seasons tops. It's a good thing that clubs are being actively encouraged to move by the remaining west region blazers.
  22. Rossvale unlikely to be far behind if the landlords are confirmed.
