  1. There are still 40+ expressions of interest for the WoS from west region clubs though, so there must be some people who understand which way the wind is blowing.
  2. They have both tried to build one in recent times though.
  3. There were people posting on here that the meeting was told that the SPFL and LL both backed Option Z. Somebody should have a lot of explaining to do at the "extra general meeting" as to why this misleading information was provided, who it was received from and why the body providing said information has any credibility left at this point on pyramid entry.
  4. South Korea and Germany are worth watching as they are probably doing the best job of identifying mild and asymptomatic cases. Their numbers suggest it's probably significantly lower than 2% on mortality and that the initial highly alarming picture we were getting from Wuhan doesn't have to be the shape of things to come. Having said that only a complete nutter would not take the obvious precautions at this point, but on the flip side people also need to avoid the sort of the end is nigh alarmism that the media tends to stoke and getting all Greta Thunberg about it.
  5. Clydebank and Kilwinning are still west region members and should be able to point that out at Tuesday's meeting.
  6. Doesn't explain how you are supposed to use your elbow on a normal tap. If you check the official stats on this, if you are under 50 it looks like you almost certainly will be though and even if you are under 70 and relatively healthy your odds are looking very good. The 1918 Spanish flu pandemic was particularly bad because it sent the immune system of a lot of healthy younger people into overdrive in a way that killed them. No sign so far anything like that is happening with the Wuhan virus. Think the big fear is not so much what is happening right now but more what could happen if it mutates into a more lethal strain before a vaccine can be developed given the human population has had no time to build up any immunity to it yet. For example, many of todays over 50s didn't have much to worry about on the last swine flu pandemic in 2009 because they had caught it the last time around in the late 70s when they were still young and healthy and that helped to limit the mortality rate.
  7. ...which is the only way Thornton Hibs and Rosyth could be getting into the EoS by next season.
  8. The EoS tweet on the subject was liked by Bellshill Athletic, Shotts Bon Accord and Rutherglen Glencairn.
  9. Suspect some people don't understand that Iran and northern Italy get quite cold in the winter. The lack of an epidemic so far in countries like India, Vietnam, the Phillipines, Thailand and Indonesia is a good sign it will behave like other coronaviruses in that regard.
  10. Think it's past the point now where western societies are likely to be able/willing to take the measures needed to prevent it becoming a pandemic in the way that happened in China outside Hubei province. It really needed to be contained more quickly in Wuhan before it left China to the extent it eventually did. Unfortunately Scotland is going to take longer to get up to the sort of temperatures that normally end the cold and flu season than a lot of other affected countries, so the next couple of months could be interesting in a 1918 Spanish flu sort of way.
  11. All he does is contradict arguments by stating the exact opposite is actually the case. He never refutes them with factual counter arguments. Hopefully most people running clubs in the west understand that approach means it's all just empty bluster.
  12. ...read all about it, read all about it, News of the World!
  13. The WRJFA have zero chance of getting into the pyramid because the LL, EoS and SoS hold vetoes over change to the LL playoff format, so there can be no advantage involved. I saw nothing that suggested a limit on the amount of teams in the LL's statements only the suggestion that some applicants may not be accepted.
  14. Criteria Mandatory Desirable 1 Enclosed self-contained ground such that admission can be controlled and charged for. 15. Definitely makes a playoff format change much easier and by all accounts the SFA are fully on board as well.
  16. Not sure what your point is. You know as well as I do that there is zero chance of pyramid entry through the WRSJFA at this point. The only viable path on offer for doing that is through the LL's WoS proposal because the LL hold a veto over changes to the playoff format. Once Clydebank officially announced they backed that shortly after Kilwinning Rangers had done soon, it would have been sensible for Matt Bamford to step down from his roles in junior football. The optics of him not doing so were starting to look bizarre after Gordon Ronney's recent escapades, which is why I suspect the LL may eventually have asked Clydebank WTF was going on.
  17. That would be the genuinely Machiavellian thing to do.
  18. In reality Matt Bamford's role with the SJFA has been completely untenable for several weeks now. It's bizarre it took him this long to step down from his roles with the west region and SJFA.
  19. Think this move would have been requested by the LL with the message being if we are going to stick our necks out on this you can't seriously expect to still have an SJFA officeholder associated with your club when we make the big announcement.
  20. Now there is an officially confirmed one in the west.
  21. If it's the other way from Bonnybridge relative to Denny and Camelon that would be the Larbert and Carronshore direction. Gairdoch United maybe?
  22. Unlikely to happen. We'll get more details from the LL soon as they said they would do that by the end of this week. Although the west region want to be the west feeder to the LL, the LL and EoS can veto that from happening due to the rules related to changing the playoff format to get into the LL. It's nearly 100% certain now that the only way into the pyramid for clubs in the west will be through the new WoS division(s) that the LL are planning to launch next season.
