  1. Closest I've been is Nanjing and it's definitely on the chilly side in December and January there. Before Hubei province got locked down any number of people from there would have been in places like Thailand or Indonesia on holiday to get a bit of sunshine with nothing much happening in terms of epidemics because flu like viruses don't last on surfaces when the weather is hot and humid. Meanwhile a group of South Korean bible thumpers visit Wuhan and cause mayhem upon returning to South Korea and Chinese construction workers manage to spread it to Iran where it's also relatively chilly at this time of year.
  2. There's been plenty of opportunity for this virus to spread globally by now. It's probably no accident that it is only cropping up as a major issue so far in areas of the northern hemisphere that are going through their winter flu season and is not an issue in subzero or tropical conditions.
  3. Think we still need to see Tranent confirmed to be able to be 100% confident on that.
  4. Here's the one from Bo'ness: https://www.bonessunitedfc.co.uk/news/club-update-2516001.html
  5. ^^^So promotion is now very much on if form can be maintained through to the end of the season. ...I’m now pleased to confirm that after a meeting today The Licensing Committee (LC) acknowledged that the club does meet the Entry level requirements and now the matter will be referred to the Board of the Scottish FA for consideration of the membership application...
  6. According to Google maps the travel time for that is 3 hours 27 minutes compared to 5 hours 2 minutes for Wick and 4 hours 5 minutes for Brora.
  7. There's nothing in the EoS constitution about the line and plenty of rumblings about it getting shifted north soon to take in Angus to keep Brechin happy. If I had to guess who the mystery sixth applicant is, it would be Luncarty. A Jeanfield Swifts poster was claiming on here a few months back that they were interested in moving to the EoS.
  8. Remains to be seen how keen they still are on staying once the penny drops that they have a season where the majority of their home games will be against the three tribute acts, possibly the now homeless Syngenta and all three of Harthill, Staneyburn and West Calder to look forward to.
  9. There are nine clubs remaining from the modern West Lothian council area. Confirming that one of them has applied would not identify the club involved.
  10. If it was a West Lothian club, I very much doubt Burnie_man would be sitting on that snippet of info, the tribute acts seem highly unlikely, Syngenta already got knocked back once, Lochgelly, Lochore and Newburgh still seem to be having meetings about it, doubt it's Tayport as they are Tayside orientated, so that narrows it down to Luncarty or Scone as prime suspects.
  11. Then it was 32 that was the supposed limit because some people couldn't get their head around the possibility of having three conferences rather than two.
  12. True, but it's one of the few statements that has had nothing to say about supporting the efforts of the SJFA.
  13. ...and as you point out the north region probably would have to be on their way out of the junior fold if they hook up with the HL and NCL unless TJ gets his mandate changed.
  14. ^^^clearly just being argumentative for the sake of it, so over and out for this thread until there is something sensible to discuss.
  15. Do you seriously expect the EoS to accept a second Bo'ness United for next season? If not, this is a complete waste of time to even discuss.
  16. Nobody said it was. Where are you going with this? Are you seriously arguing that the EoS should accept a second rival Bo'ness United club for next season on that basis?
  17. Why even bring that up? One of the clubs has been playing there since 1945 and was formed through an amalgamation involving the pre-WW2 senior club that played first division games there against the Old Firm etc in the 1920s, and the other has been there since August 2019. It's absurd to pretend that matters in any way. It is Bo'ness United's ground end of, which is why the junior club took on Bo'ness United branding.
