  1. Latest from the Fauldhouse United manager on the junior subforum.
  2. ^^^truly bizarre response from G4Mac. The clubs that retweeted that are the ones likely to be considering moving.
  3. Poll was retweeted by Kilwinning, Irvine Meadow, Kilbirnie, Girvan, Irvine Vics, Thorniewood, Yoker, Annbank, Rossvale and Ardrossan Winton Rovers' academy.
  4. All the indications have been that initially a WoS will be part of the LL structure, so there is no need for approvals from that quarter for the west feeder to get up and running any more than the EoS would need approval to add an extra division for next season.
  5. That's a major sea change in attitudes to say the least. Until very recently on there the pyramid was only for weirdos from south of Stonehaven and the prevailing attitude was that the central belt should mind its own business and let the north do its own thing. Maybe Cove Rangers tearing League Two a new one this season has changed people's minds.
  6. Plus Penicuik playing at Firhill after beating Stenhousemuir and Bonnyrigg Rose at home against Clyde after beating Montrose. Those two games drew numbers of fans for the ex-junior club that were comparable to a junior cup final appearance in the present day, so the comparison with the south challenge cup is only part of the story.
  7. On the bright side anyone of reasonable intelligence reading that will take away from it that the WoS plan is definitely happening because the PWG process broke down and that clubs left behind are likely to face the prospect of winding up like those in the east did, i.e. glorified amateur status. He may not like what's happening but he provides no clear argument for not going along with it.
  8. Always an eye-opener when you find out players at a high level of the game don't know the rules.
  9. Not yet, but if the top west juniors were on board it probaly soon would be. Maybe a way can be found to have a north vs south final eventually. Otherwise it will probably be difficult to get the HL on board.
  10. It's awkwardly phrased in the second last paragraph but it does sound like they have put an expression of interest in. Talbot's statement also read like they were saying that they would prefer a solution through the SJFA but if that doesn't work they'll discuss the available options with their fans.
  11. No details on that in what was posted on their facebook but they seem to be making positive noises again about having a new ground in Kirkintilloch.
  12. ^^^and given one of the people who would have been there is from Clydebank there's a good chance Clydebank supporters would be among the first to find this out.
  13. The ball is very much in the SJFA's court given they were hinting that last night's management committee meeting with Rod Petrie was going to lead to something. No news suggests that was a non-event as most of us knew it would be.
  14. Completely confirmed only but the real number for WoS is said to be 20+ at this point and there are rumours of around 8 moving in the east. West: Kilwinning Rangers, Clydebank, Maryhill, Glencairn, Rob Roy, Largs, Irvine Meadow, Darvel, Whitletts, Glenafton East: Kirkcaldy & Dysart
  15. Always reminds me more of a Chewin the Fat bowling club sketch.
  16. That post was a windup just like the stuff about Rod Petrie being held hostage at SJFA HQ.
  17. Harthill, Fauldhouse, Whitburn, Armadale and Stoneyburn are the ones you can make a case for on that although the last three are more of a stretch. If it speeds things along on having a fully functioning pyramid then maybe the end justifies the means.
  18. Contrary to what some people are saying think there's no harm extending an initial deadline like they did in the east, if it can help speed things along to a quicker resolution of this whole mess. If it's over 20 of 63 already there's probably scope for a lot more than that when the lower division clubs start to realise what being left on the outside looking in could look like, if there is zero prospect of ever playing some of your upper division neighbours again in a competitive fixture. Lugar and Muirkirk with no Talbot, Cumnock and Glenafton, for example. My money's on Lanarkshire to be the West Lothian in all of this. Nothing from there so far and lots of struggling clubs that have seen better days.
  19. Think Auchinleck Talbot rate a mention as maybes. Are Petershill not a West Championship team these days?
  20. A few weeks back a poster from Jeanfield Swifts (think anyway) posted on the EoS forum that they were interested.
  21. From the statement yesterday they were wanting to gauge numbers from the expressions of interest, so seriously doubt it will be capped at 16.
  22. Genuinely concerned of what we might see in response to that from you know who. Think that strongly suggests an expression of interest will be winging its way to the LL chairman as it has been written in a leading way that is designed to prompt positive responses.
  23. If it goes like it did in the east, entry for teams leaving the SJFA after the first season will be at tier 7 or lower, so it's best to get in early.
