  1. Understandable enough when there are two ferry crossings across the Pentland Firth involved and extra money will now no doubt need to be found to pay for another trip to Alness (unless they can they double it up with a cup game somehow?). The resident fantasist needs to bear that sort of thing in mind when he starts claiming a Lewis & Harris entry is just around the corner. It remains to be seen if Orkney will be able to sustain what they are doing long term if the number of league games gets ramped up to 30 or so because more clubs from beyond Inverness such as Fort William, Strathspey Thistle and his latest pet hobby horse Nairn St Ninian are on board for pyramid related reasons.
  2. Somebody is already speculating elsewhere on the EoS subforum about the reason for Zander Diamond suddenly leaving Syngenta being Bo'ness related: but it's probably really Stirling Albion related.
  3. Patience has been shown but maybe now questions need to start being asked?
  4. The problem is that he doesn't frame his posts as speculation. Beyond that you didn't exactly have to be Nostradamus to be able to guess correctly that the name West of Scotland was going to be used.
  5. Is it not the park that some of the Division 4 clubs like Finnart and BSC Glasgow are using that is run by Partick Thistle?
  6. ...which is clearly something they are contemplating if they plan as publicly stated to invite tier 5 clubs next season. Hopefully common sense prevails and a way is found to merge the SCC and the SJC in the not too distant future.
  7. Checked into it a bit more and Bridge of Don Thistle's athletic stadium only has lights for the track, while Hermes have some severe access issues and a pitch that looks like it could be too narrow in an Ashfield sort of way so Aberdeen Uni, Montrose Roselea, Longside, Deveronside and Burghead Thistle might be the only ones that could do it reasonably easily (yes, I know Glencairn) in terms of already having floodlights of some description and ticking other significant ground related boxes, if they have the volunteer base to do the paperwork angle. Culter and Dyce aren't mission impossible in ground terms but may not be able to do floodlights as quickly as top former juniors clubs from the central belt and the Dundee area can in terms of finances.
  8. They probably already have training lights that don't provide the lux values needed for licensing.
  9. Great to hear that you have recovered now and have you back on the board again. Is the problem with that one not that both sides claim it about the other lot? For whatever reason (relatively recent Irish Gael ancestors from Donegal who saw the light/took the bowl of soup, delete as appropriate) I usually fail to register on the onboard prod-o-meter that almost all Ulster and some Scottish folk of both persuasions have leading to no end of awkward social situations when I finally have to say "well actually..." or none too subtle questioning to facilitate the process of pigeonholing as friend or foe.
  10. Seriously doubt Alva and Grantown would even make the top 100 on this.
  11. If the HL champion wins the Club 42 playoff and Club 42 gets relegated to the LL only one of Gretna and VOL need to overtake CC for CC to be relegated to the WoS. At that point you need an extra relegation to achieve 16 as the number for the following season if the WoS champion doesn't get promoted.
  12. I was one of the first people on here to grasp that about the EoS having a veto over SJFA pyramid entry and actively tried to explain it to SJFA linked people on here when Tom Johnston was banging on about board directives with little success. There is near zero chance of the two teams relegated to the WoS scenario that is being described unfolding this season so it's not something that is worth making a huge fuss about at this point. By the sounds of things George Fraser & co failed to convey the full implications of LL rules when the playoff rules were being discussed with your league. No shock there. There have been several similar cock ups by the LL in recent years.
  13. Two teams cannot be relegated into the WoSFL from the LL. It can happen if an HL club replaces Club 42 who are then in turn relegated into the LL because at that point second bottom in the LL also gets relegated to keep the LL at 16 (or 18 with the colt teams). It's just a hypothetical this season though because none of the WoS catchment clubs are likely to be in either 17th or 18th place.
  14. They are in a false position though in terms of the actual quality of their team. Suspect they could easily hold their own in League Two, while Accies could easily be League One twelve months from now.
  15. Think that's pushing it a bit when Keith have knocked Accies out of the Scottish Cup on two separate occasions. Not exactly one of the giants of the Highland League. Rest of the post sounds a bit alarming though in a lunatics have taken over the asylum sort of way.
  16. You don't know that for sure and that's arguably a little disrespectful to Golspie Sutherland even as things stand right now. We were always told on here that Pollok couldn't possibly do floodlights but once the pathway opened up it didn't take long for planning permission to be sought at the first hint of possible promotion. Bridge of Don Thistle's athletics stadium looks more fit for purpose for lower division SPFL than where Edinburgh City will soon be playing so who knows what their mentality might be 12 months from now.
  17. Have you ever seen their ground? It would need a lot of work. More of a long term project required rather than something that could be done in a few months.
  18. Looks fair enough. Have to be able to still see the lines:
  19. Just an unusually unhealthy bear standing on its hind legs as far as I can see. The idea that an eight foot tall primate has evaded scientific detection in the temperate rainforests of North America is one of the cryptozoology stories that I find very difficult to take seriously. If every other conceivable form of wildlife in that environment is showing up as roadkill or a wall mounted hunting trophy at some point why has Cleetus the Slack Jawed Yokel not run one over or shot one at some point over the last century?
