  1. Did they have a Covid passport and proof of a negative test?
  2. Isn't the 10 day quarantine with full vaccination record and a negative PCR just advice?
  3. Staff circular this morning included the classic line, " if you tested positive for Covid tomorrow, would you be proud of the list of contacts you have to hand over to Test and Protect" Bonkers, last out switch the lights off.
  4. Had an interesting talk with my mother in law today, well into her 80's and about as vulnerable as they come. In her mind she's had a good innings and the young ones, ie her grandchildren should be allowed to get on with living their lives as normal rather than getting more restrictions placed on them to protect the likes of her. She may not think the same as she was getting sedated for ventilation but a susprisingly unselfish point of view from one of the "at risk"
  5. Blah blah, worrying, blah blah, overwhem NHS, blah blah, i know how hard this is, blah blah, I don't apologise, blah blah, caution, blah blah, reckless Toaries, blah blah, lock yourselves away, blah blah, over to you Jason for more advice on washing hands.
  6. Assuming that politicans will feel the need to intefere and accepting this are not necessarily the same thing. Sadly too many are happy to accept free this and free that that they have stopped thinking for themselves. Maybe if more people had something to loose they might be less accepting of all this nonsense for what on this occasion appears to be nothing more than a bad cold.
  7. Is it not the job of government to protect the NHS and provide a fit for purpose service that we already pay for via the highest tax rates in the UK? Failure on their part should not result in unnecessary restictions on the population. If the NHS is not fit for purpose may we need another of the First Minister' famous adult conversations about how best to fund and provide health services in Scotland. At this stage in the pandemic shutting bars, restaurants and limiting the scope for people to meet should be a million miles away from Cabinet considerations.
  8. This may have been mentioned, apologies if it has, but has there been any announcement re finiancial assistance for anyone self employed or in the gig economy on account of needless 10 day isolation? Bad enough not getting paid if you're ill but sitting in the house when perfectly healthy and not being able to make money will be a bitter pill, not everyone is on a salary or able to work from home.
  9. If Omicron transmits faster than Usain Bolt why do fit and healthy people with a negative test need to do 10 days covid jail. If its as deadly as she makes out you'd have it by the time you've been tested, mooching about the house all day with an infected partner rather than being out at work surely increases the chances of getting the rona.
  10. You can go back to work if you're a nurse but not if you're a joiner, surely risk is risk regardless of occupation?
  11. We can't stop the ageing process but there has been almost zero drive from the SG to promote and incentivise healthier living. Losing a bit of weight, exercising more and getting some extra fresh air are all free and could save millions from the NHS winter budgets.
  12. Re vaccinations, without labouring the point we're just back from Florida, if we were locals we could have got vaccinated at the airport, any one of a number of supermarkets or at the NFL game we attended, all on a walk in basis.
  13. Just back from 12 nights in Florida, no vaccine passports, no QR codes, no panic, no track and trace and no bodies piling up on the streets. How anyone can support increased state sponsored control freakery is beyond me.
  14. Is the glorious leader making a statement this evening?
  15. My concern is that they know large swathes of the population will ignore such restrictions if re-introduced and that they target the same small businesses and the licenced trade as they have done before just to be seen to be doing something.
  16. Never happened, It was all a figment of her imagination
  17. Given the shopping centre involved I suspect the same MSP assured me it made sense to keep McDonalds open and close gyms as some people had to use McDonalds. This was in response to the suggestion that with obestity being a signifcant Covid risk factor it would make more sense to open gyms and close fast food outlets.
  18. Forcing bars and resturants to close or stop selling alcohol on account of it reducing inhibitions and potentially leading to increased close interactions but allowing Joe Soap to buy a massive cargo from Tesco and drink it at home with no other controls or mitigations in place is another favourite.
  19. Thank goodness we are potentially heading back to the safety of last December where you could meet family in a restaurant but not each others houses, its difficult to express how much more safe this would make me feel.
  20. What's your thoughts on the 70mph speed limit on motorways? Seems pretty pointless given the capacity of modern cars and understandably ignored by many, a bit like the most of the "restrictions"
  21. Its about as relevant as comparing seatbelts to Covid is it not?
  22. Using that analogy do we stop everyone driving because some people don't like driving on motorways or in the dark?
