  1. Woman at work today relayed the following. She has two girls, one in each of P1 and P2, they live together, go to breakfast club together and stay onsite together for after school club which is attended by pupils from 4 schools but they can't get their school picture together as it would mean breaking class bubbles. Of the many nonsense rules this is right up there.
  2. These rules were allegedly brought in to help deal with an emergency, in what way are we currently in an emergency?
  3. In what way is "Beyond Zero" significantly different from Level Zero?
  4. Just had direct flights from Edinburgh to the USA scheduled for February 2022 cancelled, can re book via Amsterdam but Delta and United will not be flying direct till at least April next year.
  5. Regardless of party that would involve politicians looking beyond the next election and making some potentially unpopular decisions. It remains to be seen if politicians are in it for the greater good or their own.
  6. You'd think 20 cases from a four day festival was something to celebrate. Lots of young people out enjoying life with their friends and a measly 20 cases makes the headline!
  7. Worked various shift patterns over the years which was great for childcare but also knackering in terms of things like finishing at 3/4am and them getting back up to get them out for school but the balance to that was then having the house to yourself all day. Would say I preferred to work longer patterns than constantly changing as this seemed to suit my body clock better.
  8. Given that registration offices only opened yesterday, there will be an element of catching up with the weekend deaths. It would be useful if they gave a breakdown of numbers who died with Covid against those who died because of Covid, if it could be seen that the young and those with no underlying health conditions were amongst those sadly passing away it may encourage more of the unvaccinated to come forward.
  9. Story there on BBC news about a basketball team getting back to training today in what looked like a school gym hall, not a mask on sight. They then interview some of the team and one of them says he'd be uncomfortable going out in public without masks being mandatory?
  10. Thank you, the point about the ability to return direct to Scotland now makes sense but the lack of consistency in the application and removal of conditions continues to baffle.
  11. I am maybe being a bit thick here but how could she travel back to Scotland from a red list country and not go into hotel quarantine?
  12. My missus has worked in a hospice for years, unusually for her came home one day this week, asked for a drink and went and sat out the back for a while. Elderly man was in his final hours and he had his wife and one son with him whilst the other son had to sit in his car in the car due to visiting restrictions. Been like this for a year with families chasing ambulances so they could say their farewells as patients were being wheeled into the building. All of this because we just don't know, those responsible for such an appalling lack of compassion should be ashamed of themselves.
  13. Where does this all end, one of the first conditions mentioned was Tinnitus, surely that means you've got Tinnitus just as thousands of people have had for years and no doubt will for years to come.
  14. It only takes an hour, get 80% in the test and you will rewarded with a certificate. Unless its designed for a spacesuit how can it take an hour to be shown how to wear a mask
  15. Surely in that case they should be offering 2nd jabs much sooner to anyone who needs one and get them as vaxxed up as they are going to be. There was a furore when they went from 3 weeks to 12 so no reason why they can't go back to that kind of timescales.
  16. Feels like it some time but the governor is not totally unreasonable! It covers piling to shore up the drop from the land behind.
  17. Quite pleased with my new outdoor shelves, just some recently distressed scaffolding board and a couple of brackets.
  18. As are other counties without the levels of control freakery we are living with. In terms of public health why has Dundee not been added to travel ban or why can the Euros have crowds of 12,000 but if the SPFL restarted tomorrow only a few hundred would be allowed in?
  19. Condolonces to all those who were close to Madwullie. I'm no medic but my Mrs works in a hospice, purely anecdotal but she had spoken recently of the increased number of younger people coming in a matter of weeks after diagnosis. Don't allow Covid to be used as an excuse to delay seeking medical attention, if needs be push to be seen and get any concerns checked.
  20. Wasn't the Ally McCoist Centre at East Kilbride by any chance?
  21. Davie Provan couldn't make his anti Rangers bias any more obvious describing a choice between O'Donnell and Forest for right back and not even mentioning Patterson , either that or simply he doesn't know what he is talking about.
  22. I had some correspondence with my MSP at the back end of last year at a time when gyms were closed and fast foot outlets remained open. I suggested that given the known links between obesity and hospitalisations that the roles should be reversed but apparently some people have to access to fast food. I am quite partial to a take away myself but from a public health measure the restrictions imposed make little sense.
  23. I totally agree with ignoring another lockdown but the problem remains for small businesses, hospitality trade and the like who would no doubt be the same easy targets for closing and short of going through the courts have little chance of changing the thought processes of Professor Doom and his pals.
  24. Dean Henderson has saved 6 penalties since De Geablast saved one, that would have been the smart substitution to make
