We have the same size of squad as them, we have 25 with Murdoch out for the season and Kris Doolan not being a fitba player. They have 23.

He's gained quite a lot of experience as an assistant since then and more importantly as a coach with the current squad. I'd be mighty surprised if he switched from a successful style of play to something regressive. My main concerns are simply improving small things on what we were doing, we need to perform from December to the end of the season, in four full seasons under McCall it went a bit to shit at that time of year. Constant injury crisis and chucking injured players in, a staple of McCall's reign. Someone who avoids both will see us fine.

Maybe I look at that time through rose tinted glasses but I always thought that back 4 of Robertson, Yogi, Craig and Lovering was excellent but that's a few times now I've see Yogi's name linked with being an arse at the time. McCall did well for us but was a deeply flawed manager during his time, long periods in all but one season of terrible form, constant injury crisis but always managed to sign well enough to counter his faults. I think we can do better, is better available just now though?
