  1. Sod’s Law that we’re so close to January when we can empty the majority of these losers, but have to play the top 3 in the meantime. Thankfully Elgin will be playing the top 2 and 4th over the same period so hopefully we can stay in touch with them.

We’ve snatched a couple of results from the jaws of defeat up here in the past. A repeat of one of those would be fantastic but can’t see it.

    Pollok 1 Cumnock 2 HT.

First visit to Newlandsfield under lights and I must say it is perfection. A magnificent place to watch football.

Aye, I was there too. I must’ve been about 6 or 7 times now and I’ve never seen a game with less than 4 goals in it.

Pollok should’ve won it comfortably with the chances they had. Would like to see the offside goal again right enough.

Best part of the evening was talking to a group of Frankfurt fans that were over for the Aberdeen game. No away fans allowed at that, so they came through from Edinburgh to make sure they saw at least one game. They’re trying to get a few tickets for the home end at Pittodrie, and were going about asking folk at Newlandsfield if they had an account with buying history at Aberdeen

The only thing more impressive than Allan Maitland was the EGM ring-leader losing his voice despite having the perfect platform to grill those he continuously berates online and states he demands answers from on a near daily basis.  In general the Chairman got off quit lightly across the board I felt and I think he would have probably expecting a tougher evening.

I did find the response to the Hockey Centre question quite interesting in that it wasn't shot down and given an earlier question stated a secondary site I am perhaps putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5.  Grandstand there at present seats 500, during the Commonwealth games it had temporary seating that took the capacity to 5000 so plenty of scope for development for other stands/terracing.

I don’t think the alternative site is the Hockey stadium. GT said that due to existing facilities at Crownpoint, we could establish a base there pretty quickly by training there straight away etc, whereas the alternative site would need a bit more work done to it. Surely the Hockey stadium would be ready to go the same as CP?

  4. They’ll still bring a reasonable crowd I think, and hopefully the TV money will recuperate some of the gate money we’ll be losing out on.

It does seem ridiculous that Dumbarton v Rangers is on at 5.30 on the Saturday which would’ve been much better than expecting Aberdeen fans to travel a fair distance on a Friday night.

Before I learned to drive I got the train from Glasgow Queen Street Low Level, got off at Drumgelloch and walked through the scheme, about a ten minute walk.

Anyway Airdrie is a f**king cold ground so perhaps a good miss for you!

There’s definitely grounds that are worse to get to but Airdrie is just a b*****d to get to in general - I stay in Motherwell, less than 6 miles from the stadium, but to get there on the train you need to go to from Motherwell to Partick, then Partick to Airdrie/Drumgelloch. There’s also absolutely nothing next to the ground. Broadwood used to get a bad rap from away fans for similar reasons but I think it’s 10x better than Airdrie.

  6. Random Matches I Nearly Went To: Glasgow University P-P Wishaw

Thought this would’ve been a safe bet with the plastic pitch. I decided to ditch the car and get the train so I could get a beer, which is monumentally stupid at the best of times with Airdrie’s ground being so inaccessible via public transport. Lesson learned. Rocked up to the stadium and it was in complete darkness with 10 mins to kick off - checked Twitter and saw it was postponed at around half 7. Frustrating to say the least.

Got a freebie for Motherwell v Dundee tomorrow so hopefully that survives.

I think you've forgotten how rank rotten Parry was over an extended period of time before he was dropped.

What's JC Hutchison up to these days?

Parry is not at the level he was at 10 years ago but I’ve always found it bizarre how much he has been flamed by our fans.

Leighfield has been absolutely shocking. He’s been very poor at several goals in the past few weeks vs. Musselburgh, Spartans and East Fife just off the top my head. I’ve erased every other game I’ve been at from my memory so perhaps I’m being harsh, but we should be moving one of the goalkeepers on and getting a new No 1 in as a priority in January imo. There was also a bizarre moment in the Musselburgh game he can be considered very lucky that one of their shots hit off the post because he was absolutely nowhere for it.

  8. It’s incredible how quickly Thistle’s relegation in 2020 appears to have gone from the biggest injustice in sporting history, to the biggest managerial failure in sporting history in some of their supporters’ eyes.

There isn’t a single player/coach/manager in Scottish League 2 who is a perfect all rounder, or they simply wouldn’t be operating at this level. Having a look at Queen of the South and Alloa’s threads recently, a lot of their fans would’ve taken your hand off for McCall so the fact we’ve managed to land him despite propping up the other 41 teams in the SPFL is clearly a bit of a coup.

Couldn’t give a shit if he’s using as a springboard to get back to FT football, or using us as a last payday - as he long as he gets us out this mess we’re in and, dare I say it, brings a bit of success then I’m all for it.

Aye, think that was the only piece of information he got right last night.

I did feel slightly sorry for the commentators and pundits because there was absolutely nothing for them to talk about for most of the game.

McFadden was rabbiting on some rubbish about Millar being a PT making up for not having much managerial experience 😂

Just watched Chris Millar's pre match Interview for the Scottish Cup tie. Good to see everyone (except Cuddihy) is available for selection. Also he is so much better at interviews than McLean was. Hopefully that also applies to organising the players on the park.

I hope Morton and Killie are letting us play King and Leslie. I don’t think the latter is likely to feature for Killie in the cup when he goes back to them in January, but the former may well be in Morton’s plans.
