Last I checked Thornton has been in a TV final, while Anderson for all his ability has done hee haw on the tv.

Who is the best darts 'WAG' then? Colin Osbourne's burd is pretty tidy. I'd ride Van Gerwen and Klaasen's burds too. Donna Mardle looks classy too.

With a handful of exceptions obviously, darts players just don't seem bright, period.

Is that right? They are clearly interested in putting a Scottish player in and Thornton has done far more than Anderson in the last year.

IMO he is. All the ability in the world, but hes never done f**k all except for the odd tournament out in Holland. Has he even been by the third round in a ranked PDC event yet? Never mind all the screw ups he had in the BDO. Never been by the last 16 in the Masters and one pishy semis appearance at Lakeside. What the f**k is Stompe's walk on music all about? Thornton/Anderson will be a contender for one simply based on the crowds the PL is getting up here. My own personal choice is Whitlock or Stompe.

The way I see it right now. Taylor Barney Wade King Jenkins Baxter Lewis Whitlock/Thornton/Stompe Can't see a guy who has already been in it and doesn't excite the punters like Lloyd or Priestley getting in. Also think Anderson will be in with a shout, just because of who he is, not because of how he is playing.

I'd love him to get a wildcard, unlike that waster Anderson. Whitlock that is.

No chance Priestley will get in. Hes not ranked high enough, as the top place outside the guaranteed qualifiers, and isn't enough of a character to sell extra tickets. Lewis and Thornton/Anderson will get the wildcards.

I genuinely think Lewis could do Taylor. Taylor has stuttered a bit recently due to the fact hes fucked about with his flights cutting them down, and hes lost a handful of points on his average. Okay, hes still over 100 every time, but before hand he was getting 110+ and the like. Combine that with Lewis upping his game I think the gap has been bridged enough for Lewis to beat him.

Think I'll hop on the Webster bandwagon. Always liked him, the Cockney bawbags down there don't, and hes got a winnable path till the semis.

Maybe if he somehow got a PL place the big crowds would toughen him, but considering the guys been playing professional darts for umpteen years you'd expect him to be used to the big stage.

All the usual stuff about him being a nearly man, and so on.

Oh well, only five minutes till we hear Harrington biggin' up Baxter about how it could be his year finally yada yada yada, ad naseum.

Anderson is potentially one of the biggest letdowns in the history of this game. Immensely talented, but absolutely no bottle at all. Who knows he could come back, but 9/10 times he has a big match like this his bottle goes. He doesn't deserve a Premier League place.

I couldn't agree more. How many fucking times do we have to hear Colin Lloyd won the world matchplay with a 170 checkout and if this could be the tournament "Lloydy" recaptures his past glories? Reality check, hes just not good enough.

Funnily enough I'd had both a Winmau and a Unicorn board in the last year and there is virtually no difference other than the brand name on the board. A total non-story.

Anderson's bottle crashes at the end (again). For all the fancy 180s there was plenty of garbage 60s at the wrong times.

Its gonna be a poorer tournament without Ted. If he moved to the PDC he'd be a pantomine baddy like Manley, not hated. I think the crowd were genuinely starting to take to him.

Watching Hankey take the piss along with playing this good is quality. Hes secretly enjoying the 'banter' I think.

Basically Wade said that two guys on stage earlier were out of order, he didn't say anything in particular, but he aimed it at Hankey and Waites. To be fair to Waites, even though he didn't look comfortable up there, he was man enough to take it, and most of the boos and shouts were aimed at Hankey. Mawson and him both said they liked the crowd. I'd say the real verdict for me is somewhere in between what both sets of players think. The crowd was out of order, but so was Hankey. Oh by the way, Hankey is a fucking hypocrite blabbing on about the great Lakeside crowd. At least once a tournament he loses it with the crowd. For once I hope Mardle wins, he walks out. How the f**k is he gonna handle playing Mardle, with the way the crowd love him and hate him, never mind against a guy like Waites?
